Pioneer Courthouse Square Max Station

There always seems to be something going on when I’m passing through. I’ve come here specifically for a few events and love that the stairs make perfect seats.
Once I was sitting, waiting to meet up with people, and there was a dude playing piano. It was lovely!
I haven’t come for the market yet, but I want to someday.
This is where the MAX lines intersect and feels like the hub of the city.

The Pioneer Courthouse MAX station has several different components.
For the Red & Blue Lines, you head west on the Morrison end near the Starbucks in the square. You head east by using Yamhill near the Chase and Pot Belly Sandwiches.
For the Yellow & Green Lines, you head south on 5^th Ave near the courthouse, with the Pioneer Place mall as visible. You head north on 6^th Avenue, in front of the courthouse, further from the mall and closer to the square.
All are fairly neat ways to get into Downtown Portland. There is lots of bus service since it’s what you might think of as the most urban point in all of Oregon.
The Red & Blue lines have some places to sit while waiting. On Yamhill and on Morrison, there are lots of edges of the square that you can sit on.
The 5^th Avenue and 6^th Avenue stops for the north-​south lines have a little bit less seating.
The stations are all fairly accessible, even late at night when the shops are nearly all closed down and other bus lines are shutdown for the night.
The Pioneer Courthouse Square MAX Station is of utmost utility for getting into Downtown Portland.

by far the best max station great ambiance and has a certain flair that no other stations can match! BUY THE TICKET TAKE THE RIDE!!! CHHOOO CHOOOO!

I had hung out in the Square back when I went to SMA so grabbing a Starbucks, people watching and waiting for MAX is a great way to start a Saturday about town.

Great location to catch the train.
