Description

Specialties

Here at Mt. Tabor CrossFit, our goal is fitness. Our specialty is not specializing; we are concerned with our athlete’s total conditioning and optimal health. Fitness is about performing well at any and every task imaginable.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

Ultimately, each of us is responsible for our own bodies, but we can all use some help along the path to improving our fitness. Our goal here at Mt. Tabor CrossFit is to share what we’ve collectively learned as we’ve navigated through various fitness modalities, methodologies and practices as athletes and with our athletes.

We love sharing in the successes and victories of our athletes along their journey towards achieving optimal health.

History

Established in 2012.

Owner, Alex grew up with allergy and exercise induced asthma. As a result, she was never allowed to play competitive sports. Alex discovered weightlifting in high school and continued to do so throughout college. This eventually led to a career in the health and fitness industry as a trainer for big box gyms.

Three years later Alex discovered CrossFit and never turned back. She quickly realized being part of a team is awesome! She also became convinced that there was no longer such a thing as «can’t,» just «I haven’t figured out how yet.» Alex went onto compete in both the 2009 and 2010 CrossFit Games. After coaching at two local area CrossFit boxes for several years, she decided to venture out and open her own box.

Meet the Business Owner

Alex J.

Business Owner

CrossFit has given Alex a whole new family — never judging, always encouraging, sometimes too honest, but always on your team. Knowing the athlete next to her is struggling just as much as she is through a WOD, but still cheering her on, she cannot help but do the same. We are all in this together. Alex has had workouts that made her want to cry, broadcast her accomplishments, or hide in the bathroom and puke… but she have never had a WOD she regretted, only the ones she didn’t do.

As a coach, Alex lives to educate, inspire and empower others. She wants to set an example for others through her words, actions and lifestyle. Alex has an unwavering passion and devotion towards helping athletes achieve the confidence and mentality that they can do anything both in their sport and in all other facets of their lives. She loves pushing people to their physical limits to help them discover what they’re capable of achieving.
