This gentle doctor is great with patients and places an emphasis on preventative dental care for all family members. He believes in looking for the source of the your issues. Many dental issues are just symptoms and may take stages to resolve. Dr Roxas uses a network of speciality doctors that will help assist you in your treatment.

Dr Roxas provides quality care for many different procedures including tooth-​colored fillings, crowns, veneers, restoration of implants, and many others.

First visits require a full set of current x-​rays, a periodontal evaluation, and a comprehensive oral check up. After the initial exam we are able to diagnose what type of cleaning and proper amount of time is needed. This in depth exam allows you to understand your current dental state and how we can help you move forward.

It takes a team and you are the most important team member.

Dr Roxas grew up in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from Oregon State University and received his doctorate in dentistry from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2000.

He was married in September of 2007 and he and his wife now have three beautiful girls.

I made a Unilocal account just so I can tell everyone how awesome Dr. Roxas and his team are!!! Been coming here for over a year now wish I would have found them sooner. Always feel like I’m at home. Dr. Roxas is a hoot in a half always has good jokes. Chenoah does a thorough job cleaning my teeth she is fantastic! Betsy is great too, love her and Midge is the awesome! She even showed up to support me when I ran the Portland marathon in October!!! LOVE LOVE all these people. No one else can get even close to how fantastic this office is!!! You wont regret coming here!!!

If you’re on Unilocal looking for the best dentist in Portland, congratulations, your search is complete. These guys are, hands down, the best dentists I’ve ever had.
Dr. Roxas really takes the time to explain to you what’s going on, and it feels like he keeps up to date on the most current knowledge in the field of dentistry. Chenoah is always a pleasure to be around, and makes getting my teeth cleaned actually enjoyable. And Midge rocks the front desk, and might just be one the most helpful people I’ve ever met.
Seriously, these guys are the best. Sometimes I swing by there just to hang out with them.

I’m mostly a Unilocal!lurker. I read reviews but never actually write them.
I’m compelled to write an amazing review for Dr. Roxas and team. Let me start out by saying that I HATE THE DENTIST. Who doesn’t? It gives me nightmares. True story.
I’ve also had some REALLY bad experiences with dentists in the past. Particularly with the billing aspect. Somehow, despite being on top of making sure I understand dental coverages and having my dentist send in Pre-D’s so that I KNOW how much I’m going to have to pay, I always get an enormous bill.
Midge at the front desk is an insurance billing wizard. She’s patient, understanding, and so very kind. I avoided going to the dentist for nearly 10 years because I hate it so much (and had been burned so many times). Needless to say, I’ve had a pretty hefty treatment plan that I’ve been working through over the past few years.
Somehow — I END UP PAYING LESS than what is advertised. You know all of those «reasonable and customary» maximums that insurance companies love to throw around? Dr. Roxas charges the CONTRACTED price. Unlike any other dentist I’ve ever been to.
Dr. Roxas is great. I feel like he’s not trying to sell me a bunch of work that I don’t really need. The hygienists are great. But what REALLY sets this practice apart from the rest is Midge. If you’ve been financially burnt in the past, go see these guys. They’ll take good care of you and make sure that you can budget accordingly. Midge will work through your treatment plan, tell you straight up what it will be out of pocket, and do it over and over and over again.
Dr. Roxas — take good care of Midge. Don’t ever let her leave. Please.

Ok, start off by saying we never actually went to this dentist.
But here’s why. When I called April 14 went straight to voicemail. My b/​f needed an urgent appt out of pocket so I inquired about how soon we could get an appt and what the costs were in the voicemail.
We ended up seeing a different dentist and we were very happy with the results.
I am writing this because I JUST got a call back TODAY! That’s 13 days to get a call back!!! That is beyond ridiculous! Maybe this guy is a good dentist but he lost our business because I had NO ONE to talk to about what I needed to know in order to make an appt!
Just thought I should let everyone know what I experienced. Good luck.

I LOVE DR ROXAS!
I have been to quite a few dentists, and some of them I felt were not completely honest with me nor had my best interest in mind.
I definitely feel like I can trust Dr Roxas. You can tell he truly cares about what is best for his patients.
I am such a fan, in fact, that even though I was able to get dental insurance for 2014 (insurance that is not taken by this office), I decided to stay and continue to pay out of pocket. I was just not willing to give up having a dentist I could fully trust.
If you can get in, I 100% recommend coming here.

There is a good reason that Dr. Roxas has all 5 star reviews. I had to have a lot of work done this morning and although my face hurts I’m smiling. Due to a lack of insurance I hadn’t been to a dentist in about 6 years and lets just say I have some catching up to do. Dr. Roxas was thorough, efficient, FAST and made me feel really comfortable. I am kicking myself for not knowing his assistants name but she deserves a big shout out as well… super nice and they are great at what they do. I have never had a filling before that when i left, I looked at it and said «wow, that’s a beautiful filling»! Check that one off the list.

Dr Roxas is the best dentist I have ever seen. He is thorough, kind, professional, and goes above and beyond on a consistent basis. Over the past 3 years I have had major dental issues and he has been there every step of the way. His office staff is fantastic.

I’ve been going to see Dr. Roxas and staff for about 2 years now. From standard cleanings to a couple of fillings I have never had a poor or even mediocre experience. They really go out of their way to make you comfortable and help you understand your dental hygiene. They work with you instead of just scolding you for say, not flossing as often as you should. It’s all about positive reenforcement.

I love this office. Dr. Roxas is very friendly as is all of his staff. I LOVE my hygienist, she is very knowledgeable, gentle, and explains everything. Midge, the office manager rocks, she is sooooooo friendly. I’ve never had a dentist that is so thorough, and his equipment seems to be more modern than the last dentist I had in Portland. He has found multiple cavities, which I’ve never had, but I’m also newer to Portland and blame it on the lack of fluoride, or him being extra cautious (I don’t want a root canal so I can appreciate that)! Both the hygienist and dentist explain what they are doing and explain the new technology they use and why, which I find comforting!

I’m afraid to write a review because i still want to be able to get in to see this dr. in the future. I was surprised by how much time he took with me. We talked about some stress that I am having and he gave me some the time to just take and he listened.
I have never never been to a dentist that ever wanted to know me as a person.
I think I found a person I can trust. I will have to keep going back to see how the story ends.

If you’re at all nervous about going to the dentist, feel self conscious about something don’t wait another second to call Dr. Roxas’ office. I’ve been a lifelong nervous dentist-​goer and after two years of living abroad and getting zero dental care while I was gone I knew I needed to find the right dentist for me. After reading all of the reviews here I knew I’d found the right office. Everyone here is so, so nice calming, helpful and just the best.
I spent three hours in the chair today and didn’t feel uncomfortable for a minute of it. I literally can’t stop smiling — the work they do here is amazing!

The office is clean, the hygienists and people at the front desk are friendly, and Dr. Roxas really loves teeth. He works quickly and kindly and explains what is going on. He worked with me to get the care I needed at a price I could afford (since insurance only covers so much.) I would recommend him to anyone!

I’m almost afraid to write this review because I think the popularity will sky rocket and I won’t be able to get in for appointments.
Hands down, the best dentist I have ever been to, from the receptionist, to the radiologist, to the dentist himself, this place was TERRIFIC!
Dr. Roxas was soooooooo dope. I felt like I was in dental school the entire time I was getting my exam. He explained every bit of what he was doing as we looked at pictures of my teeth on the tv. While he worked he made some really good dental jokes too! Man, Dr. Roxas is the best!
The receptionist shook my hand and made me feel like the PRESIDENT.
After the exam was over, I signed up for another appointment straight away. Also they send you reminder emails so you never miss your appointment.

Since I found Dr Roxas through Unilocal,I figured it was time to return the favor!
I have been going to Dr Roxas for the past three years, and I can’t recommend him and his staff enough. His office staff and hygienists are friendly, helpful and great at their job. Not only is his office a short bike ride away, they take appointments as early as 7:00am so I can stop in before work.
Dr Roxas really loves being a dentist — you can tell by how excited he is explaining what’s coming. Whether its a routine exam (complete with jaw massage) or a more complicated procedure, he will carefully walk you through the process and explain why he believes it necessary. Plus he always has some new tool he can’t wait to try, which makes me think he really takes the time to keep up with advances in his field.

My wife and I have both been seeing Dr. Roxas (Roh-​hoss) for over a year, and we could not be happier. Our previous dentist retired, and his replacement was not to our liking. We got a recommendation for Dr. Roxas, and feel lucky to have found him! He is very personable, and takes time to see what’s going on, and explain everything to you. All the hygienists I have seen are good and very nice. The office staff is always friendly and competent. It seems like we have different insurance every time we go in due to job changes, plan changes, etc., and they always get us squared away with a smile.

I was blessed with my father’s teeth and, though I love the man dearly, this family characteristic allows me to spend more time with the dentist than most would like. Luckily I found Dr. Roxas and even once came in for an appointment on my birthday because I had the day off of work. His explanations were great and he always predicted more work than I ended up needing per visit. Some of the fillings were really (!) sensitive for a while and some are a little rough, but the only other dentist I’ve had is across the country so my ability to compare such things with certainty is a little dicey.
Unfortunately, I feel the need to mention that a few times I felt like I was getting lectured for things happening to my teeth that were beyond my control. Poor genetics that lead to quickly-​eroding enamel? Teeth that never fully formed on top? I guess when you feel hopeless about fixing something that you know quite well is a problem, being told that you need to pay more attention to it is frustrating. I can only floss and brush and wish for better teeth so many times per day before I go nuts and just yank ‘em out.
Otherwise, I now live across town which, along with the slightly irregular schedule at Dr. Roxas’ office, has kept me from going back (not to mention some dumb yearly limit issues with my insurance… grumble grumble).
In sum, if you have tougher metaphorical skin than me and/​or better teeth, Dr. Roxas is awesome and I highly recommend him! His staff is quite lovely as well, though somehow the waiting room magazine rack always gives me some trouble.

Yes, I know it’s hard to believe… another 5-​star review for Dr. Roxas and staff! Again, thank you Unilocalers for providing me with yet another wonderful place to visit.
Upon my first visit, I was struck by how welcoming the office staff was. Then, I had to endure the x-​rays. I say «endure», because I haven’t found the procedure to be enjoyable at any dentist’s office. However, the hygienist was so sweet… so efficient, patient, and even helpful (she helped me figure out how to minimize the gag reflex with that stuff in my mouth).
Like several other reviewers have said, Dr. Roxas was very straightforward about my «treatment plan», and I didn’t feel like I was being lectured about the issues that are occurring with my teeth. He also helped to pinpoint why I may be having certain problems and how having braces when I was younger has caused some unfortunate cavities in my adult life. Like, who knew that I actually may be grinding my teeth either (from my stressful teacher job as well as lifting weights?!) He explained everything in a language that I could understand, and didn’t push treatments or «selling» things. He also didn’t seem rushed, taking the time to answer my questions and explain further.
Also like a previous reviewer, I’ve had anxiety about dentist visits, too. I was also surprised by how relaxed I was at both my visits. Even cleanings stress me out. The hygienist I had for my cleaning was so sweet, gentle, and taught me so much more about oral hygiene that I ever new before. She was always checking to make sure how I was feeling, and paused often to let me breathe. Again, all without feeling «lectured». The staff at Dr. Roxas’ office obviously all care about all aspects of a patient’s comfort.
I learned that my hygienist also volunteers her time to do dental care for kids /​schools who need it, and that Dr. Roxas also values working with people in need. That sealed the deal.
I just had my initial visit two days ago, my cleaning today, and I’m already recommending Dr. Roxas to friends and family (not to mention writing one of my few reviews on Unilocal).

Thank you Unilocalers! Based on the recommendations I saw on here, I went with Dr. Roxas’s office when I established myself with a Portland dentist. I live nowhere near his office, but it’s pretty easy to get to and I’ve been impressed with the technology they employ and with the great personalities of everyone who works there.
After a pretty gnarly dental accident several years ago, I’m pretty particular with the quality of service I get. After 3 – 4 visists to Dr. Roxas’s office, I think I made a great choice.

Dr. Roxas and his whole staff are wonderful! I found this little tiny office just perusing my Dental Guide when I switched insurance companies a couple of years ago, and I’m sold. I have seen Dr. Roxas many times– for routine stuff and also a couple of uncomfortable procedures.
He always makes me feel at ease, explains any procedures thoroughly ahead of time, and is actually concerned with cost to the patient. He recognizes that dental work is expensive and can suggest alternatives if cost is an issue. I really like that.
All in all, I have had nothing but good experiences there, one of my favorites being just a touch loopy while they were working on my back molars, Dr. Roxas and a Rachel discussing at length dream analysis.
