Hightail runs with dogs who prefer more vigorous exercise than a walk can provide (though we love walks, too!). Our outings leave from your front door and are tailored to your dog’s needs and ability, aiming to leave your pooch tired, happy, and fit.

Business Owner

Willie started volunteering at dog shelters and running while pursuing his BFA in graphic design at New York’s School of Visual Arts. He moved to Portland immediately following graduation and discovered the unadulterated joy within Forest Park’s trails. Since none of his family’s three dogs enjoy distance running, he started volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society in 2011 with the hope of finding a furry running partner as part of the Running With Dogs team. Since then, he’s run with dozens of OHS dogs, walked hundreds more, assisted in the surgery room during Spay and Save events, and worked as a member of their Technical Animal Rescue team. In 2014, OHS director Sharon Harmon presented him the «Legs of Steel and Heart of Gold» award for his work with the running team during 2013. When he’s not hanging out with dogs or running, he’s probably reading or standing in the vegetable garden wondering what went wrong.
