History

Established in 2000.

Sarahjoy Marsh opened «The Sanctuary» in January of 2000 with vision of bringing Anusara Yoga to the Portland community. In 2005, «The Sanctuary» became «amrita: a sanctuary for yoga» and continues to be a center for a thriving yoga community. Amrita relocated two years ago just one block up the street to a beautiful space that is triple the size of the previous studio. Amrita offers weekly classes, a Wellness Yoga Program, Teacher Training and Continuing Education course, yoga retreats, and community gatherings.
