I don’t pay those prices to be treated the way we were. So unprofessional and uncomfortable. I grew up with my mother taking me here and I had taken my family here, but never again. This pace has gone down hill since I last can here two years ago. Not satisfied with the customer service or results. Now we get to go pay someone else more money to fix. Not a way to get ready for prom!

Jenny is AMAZING. I used to be platinum blonde and had the hardest time finding a stylist that could do a good bleach and tone when I moved. The first visit, Jenny nailed it. Now I am brunette with some low lights and an all over color, I took her recommendation on my tones and she of course nailed it again! She is a total sweetheart and great at her job. This place has a pretty standard salon environment and pricing. Love that you can book online and don’t have to call!

Claire Davis their brow artist is the BEST! Check her out, you will not be disappointed.

Janelle is second to none at doing what I want within the parameters of what will work for my hair and lifestyle. She intuitively knows what I’m going to love as well as what will look great on me! She really has a gift for both cuts and color. I tried other salons when my work schedule changed, but I am back to Janelle even if I have to take time off work to see her! She is THE BEST in Portland!

Sophia did a great cut on my fine hair! She listened well and discussed every product before she used it on me. I will be back soon for color and will report back.

The most creative talented hairstylist has arrived in Portland. His name is Dane and he can be found at this salon. My hair was a disaster in color and cut. Dane was able to transform it into a shining dynamic color and the cut was ideal for my face shape.
I am new to Oregon and after 5 disastrous attempts at other salons I finally found Dane.
You will be more than satisfied. His skills, his personality, and his passion to want you to feel beautiful and look beautiful will make you go back and back to this hair stylist.

Amanda did such a great job. She listened to all of my needs and the end result was perfect! I will definitely be back.

Betsy has been cutting my hair for several years. Today’s haircut, like all the others, gets 5 stars! She is also supporting me in growing out my natural gray hair, something other stylists have steered me away from. I highly recommend Betsy.

Amanda is an incredibly gifted person. For the last 5 years she has given me amazing hair cuts and color! She is extremely knowledgeable about how hair will behave and grow, and tailors her cuts accordingly. It’s gotten to the point that I just show up and give a general idea of what I want, and I trust her to figure out everything else, even with dramatic changes. I always walk out with a gorgeous product. She’s sweet, funny, and real, too. I am so grateful to have found her!

The hair stylist did a very good job with my cutting my split ends and handling my hair. It is extremely long and thick, and they were experienced with it. I would give them 4 stars for this.
As far as the overall experience, not so great. When I first came in, it took them 30 minutes to finally get me in after my appointment date and I felt forgotten. I am fairly new to going to Salons and when I was asked about «cut types», I didn’t have any idea there several different kinds (blunt, flat, etc). I said I don’t know I was not given an explanation at all on what they were, despite asking. I was asked again what I wanted and was pressured into saying «blunt» without knowing what it was.
For shampoo and conditioner advice I asked if there were any other types suggested for my hair. I was told «Well there’s this type but I don’t like it because it makes my hair smell funny» and not addressing what and why it’s good for long, straight hair of my type. I asked again if there were other brands that might be cheaper, and she said, «no I would just go with _​_​_​_​_​_​brand» I felt like I was trying to be sold a product. She was not experienced at all with giving me more affordable choices or with different kinds of shampoo.
I received feedback from the stylist that made me feel extremely uncomfortable when she asked what I did for a living. I felt she was a little too nosy and our conversations were extremely awkward such as stating «well dog walkers are too expensive! But I’ll still neglect my pet anyway.» I should have let her know I am not a big a talker.
I will most likely not come here again because of my experience with the attitude of the stylist that was suggested by the owner. However I am satisfied with my haircut and they did a wonderful job with it!

I’m a guy and was am not used to nicer salons like Roberts, and to be honest; was skeptical about paying a little bit more than Im used to paying. I had a job interview coming up though and got my hair cut by Sophia. And now I’m totally sold — worth every penny. Everyone there — especially Sophia — was totally professional and good at what they did. I got nonstop compliments about the haircut and plan to go back as soon as it grows back out.

I found wonderful Sally by reading reviews on Unilocal!:D My hair was very long, and it is very thick. I haven’t had much luck finding a stylist who really understands how to exact a very precise, technical cut with my hair. Until now! Sally cut 14″ off this morning (and sent it to Locks of Love, wonderful), and gave me a wonderful, short razor bob (I brought a pic of Victoria Beckham’s bob). I love it, my husband loves it, I had compliments all day long. And it survived 2 very wet and windy doggie walks, big bonus! :) Cannot wait for the next appointment with Sally, we are tackling color! Robert’s of Portland is so convenient, located on Macadam (right next door to Finicky’s Bagels, great coffee & yummy snacks) with plenty of parking. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH SALLY, and give her a hug from me!

I have been going to see Sally for color for almost two years and I feel like my hair has never looked better. Sally takes time at each appointment to listen to what I want (and what I don’t want) and also recommends new things that always end up looking fantastic. I get lots of compliments and my boyfriend always loves the results. I’ve also never been to a hairstylist who styles my hair as well as Sally does. With past stylists, I’ve always gone home and restyled my hair, but not with Sally. I always leave feeling like a model and don’t wash my hair for a couple of days so I can keep the style.
I started purchasing hair products from Roberts that Sally recommended, both Pureology and Tigi and I love the results. They are definitely more expensive than products I’ve used in the past, but worth every penny.
I’ve also talked to Sally when I feel like I need to freshen up my look and had a make-​up consultation where she did my make-​up and gave me lots of tips that I now use in my every day routine.
Finally, and one of the things I look forward to most when I go see Sally, is the awesome shampoo she gives. I have never had a stylist give me as luxurious and relaxing scalp massage. It’s out of this world.
In addition to her talent as a stylist, Sally is someone I enjoy going to see because she is so nice and fun to talk to. I always look forward to my appointments with her. I would highly recommend Sally’s services to anyone!

Sally is amazing. If you want great color and cut, she is the one! I actually like my hair again. Not only does she do an excellent job, but she makes it fun! Thank you so much for getting my birthday started off right with great hair and make up.

I got my hair cut here last week and I saw Sally! She did the best job ever! I have not liked any of my hair cuts in a LONG time until now! I am going back ASAP I already scheduled my next appointment. I was greeted and offered a beverage. Hours are great, private lot for parking. They have other services as well and a great website.

I was lucky enough to be a hair color model for a new stylist on the Robert’s team recently. I got my color done for almost nothing but that wasn’t even the best part. The owners and stylists really made me feel like I was in the hands of true professionals. They take the time to really get to know you and realistically consult with you about your hair. At Robert’s hair is a craft and they take it seriously. So go see them (especially Sophia, their brilliant new addition) and enjoy being pampered by pros.
This would be a five star review or more if that were possible but twice now I have recieved a luke warm and distracted welcome from a busy front desk. Something to work on!

Been going to this salon for over ten years and I love it. Meghan does magic with my fine limp hair. The precise manner in which she does her magic gets me compliments everyday. Price is right too.

Amanda is a GODDESS!
It has taken me forever and a day to grow my hair out to its current length, therefore I am extremely wary of letting someone new touch it. I was referred to Amanda by a coworker, and I don’t believe I can sing her praises enough. As soon as I sat in her chair, I let her do her thing because she put me completely at ease. Everything about her was extremely professional, and I can honestly say I’ve never had someone pay as much attention to detail as her. The girl has spunk, and she had me laughing and at complete ease the entire time.
The staff at Roberts are extremely friendly. And I tip my hat to the lovely ladies at the front desk who were super sweet and patient even though I called them like 50 times regarding my appointment.
I will definitely go back… They have an awesome referral program where everytime you refer someone they get $ 20 off their first visit, and you get $ 20 off your next visit. Thanks ladies for giving me fabulous hair (even if it is hidden under my hijab!)

I got a haircut literally the day I left Florida for Portland to allow me time to find my new stylist. It’s such an important decision! When I got here, I immediately asked everyone with cute hair where they got it done. I knew Portland had so many great stylists, so it was going to be a tough decision.
I kept hearing one name over and over: Amanda at Roberts of Portland.
The first appt I had with her I knew why: She was super nice, not afraid to tell me no, and easy to make decisions when I was indecisive. I love finding a stylist I can go to and give broad instructions to, and leave the rest up to them.
She does wonders for my hair, and is a total sweetheart.
Roberts of Portland always has some sort of special for new customers, so be sure to take advantage!

This is where I go to tame my eyebrows… us French girls have to keep them at bay! I had been looking for a good place to get my eyebrows waxed in Portland for awhile, and was getting a bit overwhelmed with possibilities and underwhelmed with some of the results I had recieved at various salons. Roberts is very close to where I work, just a quick walk, so one time on my lunch break I decided to give it a try. And I am glad I did!
Crystal did such a fantastic job on my brows that I will keep coming back. So far I have been to her twice and have been very happy. She shapes very well and takes her time making sure they’re perfect. I’ve never been here for a haircut or anything else, but from the looks of the salon and how busy it always is, I am sure that it would not disappoint.
