Description

Specialties

Nestled neatly in the village of Port Chester on the Greenwich Connecticut border, nessa is the current buzz-word of socialites in Greenwich, CT and Rye. Located at 325 N. Main St. directly across from the Lifesaver Building and The Port Chester Police Station.

One Internet Chow Hound writer wrote, «they must be putting crack in the fusilli with sausage and broccoli rabe, I can’t get enough of it!»

The fact is Nessa is unlike anything before it in Port Chester. When you enter, you feel like you are in some swanky Chelsea wine bar; the colors are warm chocolate browns and amber, with cream colored flowing curtains, high ceilings, and delicately placed fresh flowers. One patron said, «I could live in your bathrooms here.»

History

Established in 2006.

nessa was the first enotecca established in Port Chester, NY. Our goal was simple, to give our guests an experience filled with integrity; hand-crafted pastas, meats that we braised for hours, and the greatest wines we could find at the best possible prices. We are a father and son team that have served the public for decades and generations of our family. So when you dine at nessa you will see the attention to detail and the love affair that we have with food, wine, conversation, and laughter. It is our company’s mission to delight. That will always be apparent in our staff which is an extension of our character. In our first year in business we were honored to win «Top Ten of All Restaurants in Westchester» Westchester Magazine. We also won for «Best Wine List» and «Best Dessert». Since then we have been blessed with tremendous accolades from The New York Times, Greenwich Magazine, Bön Appetite, Top Awards at Yelp in 2012 and 2013! So come and join us!

I think what would best describe me is that I am an entrepreneur at heart. I have always been fueled spiritually by creating beautiful experiences for people. The older I got, the more I realized that the complexity needed to create and execute a great meal consistently to the masses meant that you had to work hard, real hard. So even the smallest restaurant demands an attitude of love and excellence for all things that you do. I found that to execute nessa and zeppoleme, I needed to be able to move a staff to greatness. I needed to be an overseer of many trades, architects, design teams, cooks, purveyors, public relations people. In many cases you would have to simply do it yourself, and if that meant, bus the tables, bartend, or tile a floor, than so be it. Finding the financing for a restaurant and then building it from the ground up is nothing short of a Herculean event, something I have done several times despite wanting to quit. But I never do.
