My door was busted (It usually occurs when some try to exit the garage when the door did not fully open up :) and it was time for a new one. Come here to Unilocal to find J&C garage doors and gates. They had a lot of solid reviews, so I gave them a call. Initial call was on a Monday afternoon where I spoke with Jack. I told him the situation and that it is a kind of emergency. He said he will send someone today.
Evening comes around, Mike showed up towards the beginning of the 2 hour time window I was given earlier that day. Mike was very professional and polite. He definitely knows his stuff and within 5 minutes of his arrival, and after checking the condition of the panels, he said that I need a new door. I said, «Let’s do it.» I went with pretty much a whole new installment, minus the opener. Mike returned the on Wednesday with one more installer, and after 3 hours of hard work I had a brand sparkling new door that looked great and operated super quietly.
Now the story become funny (Or sad from my wallet’s point of view). The day after they installed the door, my son was doing some work in the garage, and thought it will be a good idea to mess with the motor. Now, not only that he drove into the previous door, now he also broke the new one year old door!
Jack picked up the phone. I told him the situation, and he said that I should relax, and that he was close and could be at my house in 10 minutes. When he arrived, it took about an hour of his time from start to finish to get my (One day old!!) door up and running again. I was super relieved, but was a little anxious to see what the damage to my wallet would be. And here is the best part of the testimonial: He refused to take any money for the second repair. He just told me that he feel bad about a new door that broke so quickly, and that he will thank me if I would just recommend about J&C to others.
I wish there would be 10 stars review. They earned it.

Never used Unilocal to hire a handyman, and now I know it is a reliable source for service providers. I prefer supporting local business, so naturally I called J&C Garage Gates to repair our garage door.
Called at 9am Monday morning, Ben was at my house at noon. I thought I will have to purchase a new garage opener, but Ben quickly pointed out that my spring was broken and was probably all I needed to get back in the game, and get the door to work again. He replaced both of the springs and walked me through how to take care of my garage door by simply spray it every few months (You will not believe how some spray can improve the way the door is working). He advised me that I didn’t need a new opener just yet, but you can be sure of who I will call when my unit will need replacing. Great work guys, I knew I made the right decision.

Helped us get our commercial overhead door up and running after 2 of the heavy torsion springs broke. At first it seemed like a simple task: to remove the old springs and install the new springs. But after I saw that they worked the whole day, and used heavy power tools, I learned how tough (and dangerous) a project like that might be.
I can say only good things about J and C overhead doors, and I can add that the techs really know what they are doing.

The best things sometime happen when you do not expect them. And JC Garage Doors is one of them. I met with 2 other gate companies, who told me I need to replace the chain system as well as the spring. But the technician of JC Garage doors, (who insisted on $ 30 service fee just to come out) was the only technician who told me that all I need is a new chain system. He saved me more than $ 1,200! And Voila, the gate is opening again.

Last week late at night when I tried closing up the door to the garage, the door did not close all the way. I called J&C and they did 2 things: The first, they instructed me over the phone who to close the door. The second: they sent someone the next morning FREE OF CHARGE to check the door. The safety sensor fell off, so they put it back into place. The best!

At some point I attempted to open up the door to the garage using the remote clicker the same way I have using the door for years, and the electric motor was dead. To be honest, I was kind of anticipating it to happen, simply because the motor slowly (but surely) got weaker over time. J&C over-​head garage doors set up for us brand new electric motor that changed a lot. It is silent, powerful and from manufactured by Liftmaster Company, and reading through reviews about them over the internet, they really are among the best manufactures in the world.
The service was professional. Although they were ten minutes late, they communicated over the telephone and also wanted to know if we are alright with that. Once they showed up, they spent fifteen minutes checking the door, ensuring there are absolutely no new issued which need to be resolved. Only when they completed the examination, they told me that the opener is very old, and the smartest thing would be to replace it. I listened to their guidance, and now I am very happy I did. As I declared, the new opener definitely improve a lot.
This company provide both equally skilled service and top quality customer’s service.

Things happen in life. Some are bad, and some are for the best. So when my daughter called to tell me that she destroyed the garage door, my first thought was bad. But first look at the new garage door after J and C installed it, made me know that this was for the best. The new door makes our home so much nicer! (I posted photos as well).
Now to the service: I called few companies, but only J and C told me that they are on their way as we speak (They have same day service in Westchester County).I met with Mike, and he told me what I already knew: that I need a new door. But what he will do for me is to close the door, make sure it can’t be opened till the day he will return with a new door (He promised me that he can install the new door in the next 2 – 7 days).
4 days after the first visit, Mike and Juan came to our home with the new door. I watched them working and I saw real garage door experts. As I said, the new door looks beautiful, and really changed the front of our home. I am thankful for the service and for the new garage door.

I can only say good things about J and C garage doors. They were very polite and with such a positive attitude that for a moment I thought I am talking to someone from Apple customer’s service. I did not meet with them, I did not pay them anything, I am reviewing their attitude.
I tried closing the garage door, and every time I tried the door stopped and reopen. I called J&C and asked an appointment ASAP. Jack asked me to describe the problem, and after he heard my description, he told me that we have 2 options: He can sent a technician, and that will cost me at least 30 $, or he can try to help me step by step over the phone. I agreed to try, and following the instructions, I was able to close the door by myself. One of the safety sensors was on the floor, and did not signal the opener anymore. It cost me nothing, just to spend some time and find the right people. Thank you Jack.
This is honesty. And what every handyman should follow.

I am writing this in Sunday, 24 of Jan. The weekend of one of the biggest snow storms we ever had. I called few companies, only J and c garage doors agreed to come out. And this is highly appreciated!
The cable snapped, and the door came out of the leader. I couldn’t get it to move. They sent a garage door technician with 4WD to get to my garage which is at a top of a hill.
The technician replaced both cables, and like magic the door was working again.
He gave me a lubricant spray to use once every few months (did not charge me for that). Like I said, I highly appreciate the emergency service when the conditions outside weren’t ideal.

Now that I used J and C garage doors, I know why they have the best reviews. They have the best service!
Sometime the garage door is the front of your home, and you know that the door will affect the way it will look. So when we decided to renovate, one of the things I knew I will need is a beautiful door for the garage. We met with few companies, and since I wanted the best, I decided to go with J and C, despite the fact they were 30% more expensive than other overhead doors companies. But when you want the best, you need to be ready to pay.
I will only say that the service was perfect, from choosing the door to the installation. And if you wonder how the door looks like, I am connecting a photo to the review. Thank you guys.

I could tell that something was broken. Every time I used the door of the garage I could tell that it is getting worse. I called J and C and scheduled service. The technician was very knowledgeable, and told me that we need a new electric unit, but that we also need to replace the wheels of the door. I told him that I am only interested in replacing the unit. He told me that in order for them to provide warranty, he must make sure that the door is working when he leave. I told him that I do not need it.
He replaced the unit, and the door was working again, but it was getting stuck sometime. I called to complain and they told me they will send someone. They sent a supervisor the same day, who told me the same thing: You need to replace the wheels. I asked if there will be warranty, and he answered that there will be full warranty.
I was sure they just asking me to replace the wheels in order to get more money out of me, but after he replaced the wheels, everything was working again just like it used to.
I am sorry and apologize for being skeptic, and really appreciate the service!

J and C Garage Doors installed for us new electric garage operator from Lift Master. The technician (Miki) convinced us to install belt opener, and even that the new operator cost us more, we are extremely happy with the new operator.
The door is working so silently, that I can barely tell when someone use the garage door. This is a big change for us, since the previous operator was so loud, and I did not know that there are such quiet openers like our new opener.
We live in Scarsdale, and we recommend anyone who live in Scarsdale and need garage door opener installation to contact J&C Garage Doors. Not for nothing they have such great reviews, now that I used their services, I see exactly why. Like others here wrote, they are professional, on time, and they install top quality openers.
They weren’t the cheapest company I called, but I know we made a wise decision when we chose to go with them.

1:15 Garage door breaks
1:45 Called installer. They returned my call and could send a repairman tomorrow at noon.
2:00 Found J & C on Unilocal.Called Jack and he said he could send a repairman by 5PM. $ 29 service call
2:30 Mike called and said he would be over in 25 mins.
3:00 Mike arrived and was very helpful and friendly. He explained what my options were. The wooden door had deteriorated and he wasn’t sure if he could re-​attach the hardware to operate the door. He said he would try a temporary fix and test it for safe operation.
3:30 Mike secured the door and saved the day! The cost was $ 29 service charge and $ 200 repair.
I highly recommend J & C and especially Mike! I will use them to purchase a steel door in the future…

Jack was super friendly, and he was able to help me solve the problem over the phone, and this was very nice to do that. He could easily charge me for sending someone, but when I explained the problem, he told me that he will try to help me over the phone, and if it will not help, he will send me a technician. I did not know that, but once every 2 years or so, I need to put a new battery in the key-​less entry panel. I thought that I am going to need a new panel, but Jack told me that it is probably simple to solve. I took the old battery with me to the hardware store, and I found the matching battery. I replaced it, and voilà! The panel was working again. It took Jack 3 minutes to help me get the problem solved. Thank you Jack.

When my Mom called and said that her garage door broke, I knew exactly who to call. Last month I had a great garage door service from a company in Long Island, who installed for us a new garage door, so I called them and asked if they can service a garage door in Scarsdale, and they told me that they can recommend about a garage door company in Westchester County, that service Scarsdale. They recommended J&C Garage Doors.
I called and said it is kind of emergency, and Joe told me that they can send someone today, and since I was recommended by a company that they work with, they will not charge me for the service. I got a call from my mom lather that day telling me that that company did a great job, and that they were able to fix the door. Apparently the previous installer did not do things the right way, and this is what caused the door to break. I am happy with the quick respond and that they did not over charge us even I wasn’t there and I paid over the phone with a credit card.

My garage doors always got stuck, and two weeks ago when i found myself struggling to close the garage door in the snow, i decided that i must do something about it. I called different garage doors companies in Westchester, and 3 of them told me that I must replace the door, and that they refuse to repair them. When Jacob from J and C garage doors arrived he made it simple, he said that if I am willing to pay, there is no garage door problem that he can not repair, but at the same time he said that even he will make more money from repairing it, he prefer that I will replace them. And he also said that if I will not be satisfied, he will not charge me for labor.
After such an honest approach, I knew that I better replace the doors. The nest week he brought the doors and replaced them, and I know that this was the right thing to do! I am so glad I found him.
Last week i had a problem with the new door. They arrived in less than 30 minutes. And even that the reason was a mistake i made, they did not charge me.

I called Jacob on a Saturday afternoon. Jacob was professional, very courteous and genuinely concerned about solving the problem. It was clear that Jacob was very appreciative of having me as a customer (a rare quality these days).
Within 2 hours (exactly the time he said he would have someone here), Mike M. was at my home. Remember folks, this was a Saturday afternoon. Mike was extremely professional, courteous, very competent and took the time to explain the features and benefits of the new garage door opener, outside keypad and indoor opener.

I have an old wooden garage door, which my father installed. During the years the door gut old, and did not worked like before. I tried few garage doors companies, they all wanted to replace the door.
Then i found J&C on Unilocal!they send me one of their technicians, hes name is Jonny. The guy came to my place, and told me he will fix the door no matter what.
After 2 days he came to my place with a new broken part, and fixed the door. now the door is working great!
I would recommend this company.
