It’s Hubbas… It’s a staple of the area, and it seems like everyone has a story about a late night hubbas run. It’s your typical greasy spoon hole in the wall place that does all your favorites… Is it clean? Cleaner than most kitchens you’ve eaten from actually… Do they follow food safety protocol? not really… BUT… They go through so much food so quickly, that food doesn’t really have time to sit in the danger zone for more than the allowed time(40*-140* for 4 hours max) No one really goes in here expecting 5 star cusine… do they? Chili cheesedog wedge and a large chili cheese fries for me please!

I use to like coming here because there wasn’t another place that I knew that had good chilli cheese burgers or hot dogs. But last time I was there it wasn’t great. The chilli didn’t have much flavor, they barley gave any chilli on the burger and it’s just a small area and smelly. Such a downer that Hubba’s is going down. If you want some really good chilli food I would recommend going to Texas Chilli in mamaroneck.

This place is disgusting! They have roaches and rat droppings everywhere! The food is dripping in oil and it will clog your arteries faster than McDonald’s food! They keep their garbage stored upstairs right next to where the freezer is… Disgusting! I used to work here, so I know first hand how they handle the business!! I’m sure they pay off the health department to pass them and turn away from any violations! Don’t eat here or you will be sick!

Not healthy at all but when you want a chili fix bring on the Hubbas! Its the diviest of the dives, but it is soooooooo good. Chili dogs, chili fries, chili cheesesteaks – OHMY! We usually get chili to go and freeze it for topping dogs, nachos etc. at home. Yes… its that good.

Late night drinking food. It’s not healthy but it’s delicious. Nothing satisfies like Hubba’s. I’m not deducting points on the count of it being a greasy spoon because you should know better. Whatever you order make sure it’s covered in delicious spicy chili.

Good food low prices. Wish I lived near by so I could eat this as drunk food. This place is the definition of a hole in the wall! Will return to bomb my guts with chili dogs in the future!!!

A sketchy run-down spot that has amazing chili. It has its own unique charm. Just watch out for the drunk people coming through!

Total hole in the wall, very narrow, doesn’t look very clean, outdated looking décor with dollars lining the walls. You could easily walk past it and not even realize it’s there because that’s basically what I did until my friend said wait up I’m going in here. I’m not a huge fan of chili or hotdogs for that matter in the first place so I’m not going to rave about it. It was edible but as someone that is a good cook I think I could easily do better. Not trying to sound conceited or anything but just honest. The cooks were friendly and the patrons were a little on the loud side. The locals seem to rave about this place but I guess I just don’t get it. If you are a fan of chili dogs you may give it a better rating.

patties are of the frozen variety certainly purchased from the costco around the corner. The rolls are standard wonder bread fare with a decent enough crust when toasted. The cheese is a kraft single. But none of this matters once you douse it in that chili. Greasy and spicy enough to prevent the next mornings hangover; the same can not be said about the next trip to the crapper. But after those first few experiences you accept that ultimatem and chase that initial chili high.

A very eclectic little dinner with good food. The chilli was spicy but had great flavor and decent heat. The late hour led to them running out of patties for the hamburgers but the steaks are good too. The large fries were a good size portion and cheap.

I’m crying as I write this from Texas Chili in Mamaroneck. I have spent the last 16 years of my life eating Hubba’s. I would come back from the wars and go straight there. After a night of picking up the ladies, I’d go there. «What’s that sexy? Oh no, I can’t come upstairs with you, I gotta get some Hubba’s.» Yes, it was that good. Carlos was my best friend, even though he didn’t know it. But now… now it’s different. I haven’t seen Carlos in years, and the food has gotten weaker. The chili, which was once the best chili in the free world, is now inconsistent and flavorless. One night it’s a flash of brilliance, like Rocky IV, reminding you of it’s greatness. Other nights, it’s Rocky V, boring and lame as you force yourself through it. I gave it 3 stars, because I know deep down inside there, there’s a champion. But right now, Texas Chili is the new Balboa.

Gross… I think the only people that love this place are locals that grew up eating this stuff. The chili is just bad. I like spicy but that’s all there is to it except for a slightly bitter and burnt after taste. I don’t even want to know where they get their hotdogs. it’s definitely not made from beef. I’ve eaten at shitty and dirty looking places in Chinatown so it’s not a matter of being skeeved out by the looks of this place. The food is just not good.

spicy chilli like no other in westchester, other than Texas chilli, which is a spin off down the road. Anything with chilli is a go. My favorite is te chilli cheese dog wedge with chilli cheese fries. Texas burger good also, I’m not crazy about te California. dirty hole in the wall but cheap greasy food, and environment isn’t as bad as it may seem except perhaps late late hours. dont forget to order hubba water

Hubbas has reserved a hot hot spot in my heart. The chili has a hot aftertaste that is more spicey than inferno, and makes everything taste amazing. One of my favorite spots to visit at 2AM in my college days. A judgement-free comfort food zone for all those who love chili and cute hole-in-the-walls with charm.

When i am hungry from the«right now» kind of hungry, i go to Hubba’s ;) Here, i already got a punch line for them LOL The only problem is that i am so hungry, that i order both the cheeseburger and the chilli dog. Then i eat both of them, and swear to myself to never order them again(as delicious as they are). But then i go again ;) Go there, it is delicious!

The guys behind the counter are very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my chili and cheese hotdog! The chili and cheese fries were great as well. The pricing is fair. Cash only! Opens late, so it’s the perfect spot to stop by to grab some late night food after getting drunk!

I hate that I can’t give it 5 stars because I have been going here for over a decade now. Too many times the chilli is not what it used to be. If you never had it then you will die not truly having lived. But now that I just found out the old owners are at Texas Chili, expect a nice review from there next. Price is good. Bacon seems to be the only thing they add a dollar to your sandwich. But I miss the old Pats Hubbas

Legendary chili, late night greasy spoon, authentic experience, yadda yadda yadda. What most people don’t realize is that Hubba came under new management a few years ago, and the new owners don’t take sanitation seriously, nor do they care much about service. Hubba was always a hole in the wall, but the previous owners kept the place clean. The new owners don’t, which is why so many reviewers here complain about roaches and cooks who don’t wash their hands. This is not«Pat’s Hubba Hubba» or even plain old Hubba, it’s a filthy place that has miraculously avoided shut-down by health inspectors. As a former loyal Hubba regular, I wholeheartedly suggest you try Texas Chili down the street. It’s operated by the old Hubba staff and the menu is exactly the same, but it’s CLEAN, the counter people are friendly, the cooks are consistent, and it has a bathroom, something sorely lacking at Hubba. Yes, Hubba is the original, and yeah, it’s a shame what’s happened to it, but at least someone had the foresight to take this beloved local food and give it a proper home in a clean, friendly environment.
