Windsong Cottage Guest Yurt

This is an absolutely magical place. A solid yurt with a living space, bedroom, bath, and full kitchen. With full views of ranch lands, Tomales Bay, and the mountain range. Wildlife comes and visits often. And at night you get full sky views right from your own hot tub. Hands down my favorite vacation rental in stateside.

I don’t want you to stay here: selfishly, I want it to be available whenever I want it! My husband and I spent 3 nights in the cottage and cannot wait to return. It was the perfect resting place after our morning hikes. The hot tub soothed our aching muscles and the fireplace made the cottage super-​cosy. Tony provides thoughtful details for the kitchen and the rest of the cottage. You have privacy and views in a great location for hiking and exploring the area. I can’t say enough good things about Windsong Cottage Guest Yurt! But don’t go… ;)

We spent two nights in the cottage — we being me, my wife, and our 10 and 8 year old. Just like everyone on TripAdvisor and Unilocal says, it’s a fabulous place with really nice amenities in a wonderful location. Owner was in Vietnam and yet found the time to call me and make sure our check-​in went well. 5 stars!

I visited in October and I had a nice stay. The yurt was clean and comfortable.
I hope to return when the weather is warm that way I can use the hot tub. Supplies for breakfast are provided, bring your own cheese so you can make a nice omelet!

A few years ago I watched a program about «Glamping» on local TV and this place was one of the featured location. Couple of weeks ago I finally was able to visit and spent two nights. Since it is only one unit and quite popular, one has to book weeks, if not months, in advance. I found it worth the wait, as well the cost. Everything was what I expected, and more. The overall feeling of being in and around this cottage is one of tranquility. I wouldn’t consider it a place of luxury or pampering, but relaxing and comfortable. Upon arrival, Tony, the owner/​manager came up to greet me. He was helpful, pleasant, and non-​intrusive. Sometimes owners of these B&B, Vacation Condo, Timeshare, etc. could be overly inquisitive or even aggressive in their management. I didn’t feel that way about Tony however. For example there aren’t a lot of «Rules» posted all over the walls inside, but only a few essential info such as emergency contacts. I made use of the hot tub twice. The temp was set just right, and everything worked the way it supposed to be. I also made good use of the kitchen to prepare several meals. It was fully functional and well equipped. I didn’t see any bugs in or around the unit, but certainly there were tree frogs. One of them even made home inside my night stand drawer. These are tiny green frogs the size of a quarter, not scary at all. Since the location is the middle of an open grassland one has to expect critters of the nature. I don’t consider them nuisance but just friendly visitors. Overall I had a very pleasant time, and would return again when opportunity allows.

We have stayed at the Windsong Yurt 3 times. We love it. It’s about an hour and a half drive which is perfect. The bed is so comfortable, the hot tub is perfect. We did have to scoop a few frogs out of the hot tub and scoot a few others away. The pot belly stove and all the wood are wonderful. The breakfast they provide is great. We love the YURT and the peaceful quiet environment. This will be an annual trip for us. We cook one night and go out the other night. We found a great deli close by and brought back pizza and wine one night. We have recommended this spot to friends.

I surprised my boyfriend on his birthday with a night’s stay here and it was wonderful! This place is so beautiful, peaceful and private. My boyfriend said it was the most romantic time he’s ever had.
If you want to cook dinner for yourself, I’d recommend bringing pasta and drinks.

Just got back from this magical place. I only got to spend one night here, it was worth every penny! and I don’t have many pennies to spare!
Everything about it is absolutely charming. I was surprised with how spacious it was, and how much detail and love is obviously put into every part of it.
My favorite part was the wood burning fire place, the huge, fluffy king size bed, and of course, the hot tub set in the private yard.
I am dreaming of returning to it again, soon, and it will be for more than one night this time :)

Very adorable place… we just came back from 5 nights up here over the new years and would have happily stayed another week if we could. Simple, uncluttered place with beautiful views. Great firm king mattress and lovely hot tub in the back. Made a fire in the woodstove every morning. Really sweet owner. What more could you want?

The stack of five guestbooks dating back twenty years, filled with glowing praise and promises to return should be a testament to Windsong’s magic. Tony literally thinks of everything you might need so that opening the various drawers and cabinets to find extensive selections of utensils for the kitchen, bath toys for the hot tub, sewing kits for your clothing, board games for your diversion, and snacks for your stomach is a delight. The yurt was very cozy, clean, lit wonderfully with natural light by the skylight, and immediately felt like home — if home existed in some pastoral oasis. More people really need to experience how great a place this is to stay as it exceeded our expectations in every way.

We stayed in the Emerald Cottage, and it was just as advertised. Cozy, tranquil, restorative. Everything was clean, and Tony (the owner) was as nice as could be. We had a nice basket of fruit and fresh banana bread waiting for us, and there was granola, milk, OJ and ground coffee ready for our use.
The hot tub was just the right temperature and had nice strong jets. It was great to use at night, but a little less private during the day (but still do-​able). At night, you can hear crickets and frogs chirping sweetly in the background, and see bright stars overhead.
Point Reyes Station is a short drive away. We were able to commune with nature or hole up away from the world as we desired. What a treat.

This cottage right near Point Reyes Station is as good as it gets. My husband and I rented Windsong for our wedding night. The night before, I made him sleep at his mom’s hotel and had the place to myself. The place is so peaceful it can even put a nervous bride to sleep.
Yurts often have a skylight where the beams meet so in the morning, it was a gentle waking up. Though the space is really one big circular room, the bedroom is structured so that there is privacy and the bathroom is also walled off. It is an ingenious design. The space feels so open and the view is great. We had a fabulous couple of nights and it is a place that will remain dear to our hearts. Perfect for a romantic get-​away!

We started going here about 10 years ago. We absolutely love it. It’s surrounded by greenery and pastureland. Sometimes you can see the cows from the big windows. The property enclosed so that there is privacy. The owner lives a few yards away but I don’t think you can see his place unless you step out of the enclosure. The cottage is a yurt. A nice relaxing hottub outside to watch the stars. It’s just absolutely wonderful. There are all the ameneties needed. Very comfy bed! Nice sitting area outside. There is a nice continental breakfast.
Oh if I didn’t mention Windsong Cottage is a yurt.
There is also another cottage on the property, Emerald Cottage. It’s less expensive also has a hottub. But a little less private also.
We haven’t been back these past few years. I think it’s time again.
