US Post Office

Totally agreed and experienced the rudeness from these ladies who worked here. Despite the long wait, 3 ladies served with the same attitude as if they don’t care. They don’t care if you have to wait, they don’t explain the unlabeled drop off boxes outside, and they will definitely not explain to you about the various shipping methods. They will simply said, «I have another person in line.» I heard another gentlemen asked about the drop off boxes located outside the post office, and one of the ladies responded: «we don’t need to make a sign, everybody knows it!»…for real?

Never go back to this post office again, the gentleman inside the counter is very rude, unprofessional, incompetent that he helped pushing out customers to other stations, so that it largely increased operating cost of this facility, and, by sending over more clients to other locations, this created more workload for post offices in nearby cities.

Meh, it’s a usps so it’s all about where you put your expectation. It’s fast and efficient. That’s all that matters to me. So the people behind the counter are not the friendliest and do not smile back when you smile. But it’s okay, I don’t have to see them everyday so it doesn’t bother me as much. I only come here to drop off packages and get a scan so the status would say it’s in their possession so I have no clue how they are when it comes to actually helping with labels, shipping, refunds and buying supplies transactions.
I’ve been able to get in and out in less than 10 mins every time that I go so I guess it’s okay. There is a line there when they first open at 9:30. Usually not so many people are waiting in the mid-​afternoon range.
The San Ramon one and the Dublin one are in my personal opinion friendlier in general.

Being a Pleasanton local, there is often a need to go to the post office in order to send packages, buy stamps, etc. I’ve always found the Hacienda location much better than the Main Office location. There’s less problems with traffic and parking and the line gets long but the clerks do their best to keep the line moving.
The past week I went to buy stamps for my friend’s handmade postcards. They weren’t the usual postcard size and paper used so I was worried that the cards would be rejected and the post office would be unable to send them out.
Chris was extremely friendly in helping us find a solution. He was attentive to needs and even checked up on us to see if we had any issues. He was very professional in informing us on the possible options.
I’m glad that I was able to send out those custom drawn postcards and I have to thank the workers at USPS for that.

I come here at least once a week and almost every time, I bring 10 – 12 pieces of certified mail. Sometimes, it can be up to 40. Both Chris and Gina are patient and courteous with my mailings and never have they complained.
With my weekly visits, I can affirmatively attest that the employees here are professional and efficient. Keep up the good work guys!

Have any of the negative customers ever been employees of the United States Postal Service? I thought not! The window clerks now work at their counters with cameras constantly watching them. They can be viewed by their main office as well as in Oakland. There are mystery shoppers who slam them if they don’t move customers through the line in 5 minutes or less. That’s why you may not receive the customer service you expect. Especially the customer who had multiple pieces of certified mail. Sure it’s great to get through the line faster, but not at the cost of professional customer service. Just thought you need to know! It’s not like the old days, and you wonder why they seem grumpy, rude or stressed!

Gina is extremely unprofessional and annoyed woman. I stop by to drop off a package requested for the pricing for the priority and express mail the answer I got was this too much work and why don’t you just send it the regular mail there was no other customer I was the only customer in store.
Surprisingly the next customer also requested for the same information priority mail express mail she didn’t give them the same answer. Of course they were white. :)
I requested for the manager information her name is Gloria and she was in a meeting I have a phone number I’m planning on speaking to her and complain to her about the professionalism of Gina.
I don’t understand if a customer representative is not pleasant and a slacker why put them at front desk facing customers???
Maybe it’s a fact government job pays less and that’s why most employees are not happy campers.

I was in the area last week and needed to mail a letter that day. I stopped in at Hacienda around 4 pm and Chris was my clerk. I must say, my experience with him was very positive. Yes, the line was long, but it gave me a chance to watch him interact with other customers. After reading some negative reviews, I gotta disagree with the others who slammed him. He was patient with this Asian guy who could hardly speak English. He calmly explained to him how to insure a package, and even walked around the counter to help him bundle his mail. Cool! Now that’s customer service. Then there was a lady who came back from vacation and lost her box key. he was understanding and helped her fill out a form. I was impressed with how he took care of her. When my turn came, he was friendly and even smiled as I asked to buy some stamp books.
I guess it’s true… we all have our good and bad days, but if I were to compare Chris to some of the other clerks I’ve had at Dublin and Pleasanton Main, I give him good marks for his kindness and how efficient he kept the line moving. Thank you, Chris! MW

This location employs the most obnoxious clerks. Chris turned a customer away today after his coworker Jin asked her to fill out her customs form while she stood in line. She arrived before 5:00 PM. The woman said she would never come back to this location. Then Chris had an argument with a customer who gave him feedback about letting customers they are closed. He shut the door in her face and locked it when she asked for his name so she could file a complaint about his nasty demeanor. OMG, he kept ranting and raving in my presence. Hello… complaining about a customer in front of another customer is very unprofessional. Locking the door with no one standing by while customers remain inside is a public safety issue. On other occasions Gina pretended to scan my prepaid packages. Another time she looked at me with a blank stare after I requested she scan my prepaid packages & refused to give me a paper receipt when I requested it. Unfortunately this is the most convenient USPS location for me to stop by. Although they’re open till 5 PM arrive by 4:30 PM if you have an international package and you don’t want to get harassed or kicked out because the most if the clerks here are nasty & mean.

I’ve been to this location a few times and so far my customer service experience have been pleasant. I guess that’s why I keep coming back. ^_^
PS: I saw the guy (Chris) everyone spoke about here on Unilocal.I genuinely thought Chris was a nice, friendly, professional guy when he helped me mail a package this afternoon. I’m not trying to defend the guy however don’t forget we are humans and even you and I have our good days and bad days. You guys must have caught him on a bad day or something. Just give the guy another chance.

This is a great little post office in Pleasanton. The staff are friendly enough, I see people getting mad at them all the time, but people need to remember, they get your BS every single day all day long. Rules are rules, don’t take it out on them. I see them getting people in and out as quick as they can.

Came to this location to mail an international package to my child overseas. After having my parcel weighed, customs paperwork completed, state the mailing option that fits my budget, I opt to pay with my credit card. I swipe my card and the clerk asks for my ID. then tells me my card is invalid because I chose to write «see ID» in the signature space even though he checked the name and signature on my California state issued drivers license. He insisted I sign my card, I refuse & resort to paying with cash. He then started a debate on procedures & the validity of my cc being used. It was near closing time 04:52:40 pm on Tuesday December 9, 2014 & ALL clerks working obviously wanted to leave in time.

Two stars only because I’ve come here before and preferred it to the bitter lady at the Dublin USPS.
BUT… after today I don’t know. I arrived shortly after 3 today. line was out the door… but it’s to be expected because of the holidays (people shipping holiday cards and gifts).
While waiting «Chris» as I noticed DM J posted a picture of and referred to in his post, was scowling and grumpy that the mail box was full and people were trying to toss packages in… I guess he didn’t appreciate that he had to walk the extra couple of steps to empty the mail before returning to his cashier station.
I was really hoping as I got closer to the front of the line that I wouldn’t get him… but of course with my luck he said «how may I help you».
I hand him 15 catalog envelopes I need certified mail (for work). It’s not like I came unprepared. They were all labeled and sealed, and all the cerified mail forms were filled out. He takes a look at the stack and says «no, this is a half hour transaction, it’s too much work. I’ll just print stamps for you to do yourself». Umm, Sorry, we have a stamp machine, the reason I came in is because we need it certified. His response «this is going to take half hour you can do it yourself» I ask if there was a way I could’ve certified it from the office on our own and paid online. He replies «let me weigh this one, i’ll do it now but it’s going to take me over half an hour, for future reference it will cost $ 4.00 flat» My response: «So does weight not matter? Because we don’t certify often, and I’m not sure how much an envelope will weigh?»
In his disgruntled manner, he slams our envelopes down quite loudly. Then scowls as he looks at every one shaking his head. I tell him the labels are in the order of the envelopes but as he took that first envelope to weigh and then moved the label it was off by one… Of course he seemed to think this was our fault. He angrily scans every one which takes about 10 minutes not 30, and each envelope actually comes out to be $ 4.49 not $ 4 flat like he first suggested I pay.
I’m sorry CHRIS, I understand it may be busier than normal for you because of the Holidays, but if you weren’t helping me you would be helping the other customers in line anyways… So I’m sorry for making you do just a little more work to scan a few more papers. I thought I tried my best to make it easy for you, but I guess it would’ve been easier if I just didn’t bring it to you at all… If the Post office is to automate everything like how you want it… wouldn’t you be out of a job though?
He really put a sour mood to my day, and I still can’t shake how rude this man was today.
If you walk in and you see the man user DM J posted, I would walk out. He’s not worth your business or time.

Very rude and grumpy staff, every time I come here I literally get yelled at! Unacceptable! They must hate their jobs! Expected from government employees I guess… But the service is NOT free! Never coming to this location again!

Lines are always long but move quickly, parking is always spacious and plentiful, & employees are always helpful and teach you how to save $.
I always have to get in line to ask for flat rate priority mail boxes because people clear out those racks!
It’s never a «good time» to come because there’s always a long line out the door for some reason. People have a lot to mail out & I guess USPS isn’t going out of business anytime soon!

Very very rude people. I went there in no rush to post my item and they were very rude thinking I was going to take too long and not be out by 5pm. Avoid like the plague and find a different usps. Don’t deal with rude, arrogant and unhelpful Asian owners.

Post Offices are a little like DMV’s. They’re always busy with long lines. My friend needed to mail a few packages. I thought this place was closed because it looked empty. So was the parking lot. We walked in and she was helped by an elderly lady who was very nice. I don’t remember her name. The staff here were very nice and helpful. You don’t really get this kind of service at other USPS. There’s always a rude person on the other side but not here.

FAR better than the Dublin USPS. I’d much rather come here, despite the fact that it’s usually less convenient for me. Except one occasion, where one guy was almost rude about helping me deliver a package, USUALLY this place has nice, helpful staff. That’s right, they are there to actually HELP you, unlike the Dublin location. Also, this location is bigger than the Dublin one, which is TINY.

Instead of the large Post offices… we always go here. We needed holiday stamps and hubby stopped in just last week.
Small, and convenient… great place to drop off packages and mail conveniently (drive up and drop off) Closed on Saturday.
Sometimes the workers are not very responsive, but I have come to expect this at the USPS.

Usually, I would rather drink paint than go to the Post Office. This location is not so bad. I wouldn’t say that I look forward to coming here but I can say that I leave this place in the same mood I came in with. The people who work there often multitask so the line moves quickly.
Also, patrons here don’t seem to be as testy or moody compared to other locations. Pleasant people in Pleasanton.
