Postnet

Well I don’t have time to review things that often. But this one needs to happen. Went in to ship an item I sold to foreign country. Went through the whole process and got to the prices on shipping and options I wanted. I said the cheapest with tracking but just the cheapest possible, even though I knew would be a lot. Price ranged from $ 85 – 220. Last time I shipped something to same location one year ago was $ 36 (looked at my receipt). The guy instantly became annoyed with me like I was disagreeing with his political views or something. :) I just wanted to get all the information of the cheapest way but feeling not welcome or comfortable anymore I decided to leave. I came back again that night because I thought maybe there is a way to ship just regular instead of adding tracking and all that. The high school kid interrupted me and explained the previous guy already told him what happened and that is the only rates we have and they aren’t going to change. He was 100% abrasive and had the look on his face like I was ruining his day with asking 1 question. I said I know the rates are fixed but aren’t any other options for just regular shipping with no tracking? «NO that is the only way», he said. All I could do is leave again and as I walked out the door I said, «Happy Holidays» because at that point what is there is say. I work in retail and customer service since I was 15 and am now 37… just another friendly reminder that people don’t care at all. Hoping at all of you out there have better, more human experiences!

Horrible experience. I wanted to return an anchor for my boat that was shipped via UPS from the vendor. I was shipping it back via UPS. It was sent in bubble wrap and that is how I was sending it back. Took it to PostNet and the owner was concerned that there was a point on the tip of the anchor. Did not matter to him that UPS had already it shipped it in this manner. He called UPS and they agreed. I expected that as nobody is going to say «Yes» over the phone without actually seeing the anchor. He wanted to box the anchor up which would cost me additional money.
I took the anchor to my wife’s business and UPS picked it up no problem. The driver said they take things like this «all of the time».
I then called to give the owner at PostNet a heads up for future reference and he then says he would not take it as he is responsible for liability if someone was to get injured. Serious? What if any box that ships from your store were to strain a back, fall on a foot… etc. Your saying your liable?
In my opinion this was a case of wanting to make additional money — nothing to do with safety (verified by UPS). Needless to say, they are other options in Pleasanton for my shipping needs and I’ll be sure to use them.

Check your passport photo carefully before leaving the store.
I recently had a passport photo taken at Postnet but when I tried to use the photo to re-​apply for a passport, at the Passport Processing Location at the Pleasanton Post Office, I was informed that the photo was unusable. Passport photos must have the applicants’ face fully facing forward in the photo, the picture taken at Postnet was at an angle and therefore was unusable — I had to have the picture retaken at the Post Office. Thankfully this was possible, otherwise I would have waited nearly an hour just to find out the photo I brought was unusable.
I will continue to use Postnet for all other services, I just think they need to be a bit more diligent when taking their Passport photos.

I have used postnet on many occasions. He is usually busy but very willing to help. I have had both the passport picture and the notary service used. Excellent service, time conscious and professional. I will go here for my small business needs every time.

Went in here to send a package because it’s convenient, but the owner was rude and this place was so overpriced compared to FedEx… would not go here again, save your money and go elsewhere.

I just started using this place as an address for donations to a charity I run called Missing Man Ministry (supports widows and orphans). They send an email out regularly telling me if I have any mail and they even call me when I get a package. Also by having a real address, FedEx and UPS can deliver packages to me as they won’t to a PO box which other places only offer. Parking is easy and I always can park right in front of their door. Their service has been great and consistent. They work hard on keeping me informed about when I get mail so I don’t have to come in to check my box without me knowing if I have mail.

What a jerk! Rude, inconsiderate and too busy to help. I come here when I absolutely have to because it’s convenient. I’ve driven all the way across town for a Fed Ex drop off to avoid this buffoon, but today I thought, just maybe, he’d pull his head out and *not* be a total a**.
I was wrong. Avoid this place like the plague.

I read the response. It is inaccurate, and my review is based on multiple experiences with this place. Please read my other reviews — if this place weren’t consistently bad, I wouldn’t have panned it. I stand by what I said — and you are welcome to take your chances, I just haven’t had a good experience. Ever.
You will note that his response blames the customer… par for the course.

Left something behind at my elderly in-law’s and had to ask them to send it to me fastest way possible. After hearing how important the item was, Craig was instrumental in holding my in-law’s hands (did I say they are elderly!!!) and helping them to navigate what to do. When I called after arriving home, Craig was able to find a way for me to get my package at 10:30am instead of 8pm (which was AMAZING!). They did a great job and I’d definitely go back.
Was impressed that Craig managed to balance helping customers who were there in the store while still attending to me on the phone. I knew he was busy, and yet he clearly made certain that my needs were met. Nicely done.

Went here for the first time today for getting some documents notarized. Fast, quick and professional service. Will come again.

Very DISAPPOINTED in this place. I went in to make a couple of colored copies using my USB. The sign says its .49 cents a colored copy. In order to make copies off a USB you need to use their computer (not like their competitors where its attached to the copier). Never did she tell me about an additional fee for «computer rental». When I went to pay the girl said it was $ 3.24. They charge a «computer rental fee» just for using their computer to print off their computer… What a RIP-​OFF!!!

I was really disappointed with the way I was treated when I walked into this store. The man who assisted me (I’m assuming the owner) never greeted me, was rude, and acted like I was keeping him from other things he had to do. I asked him questions which he tried to shrug off and was very unhelpful.
Next time I will go out of my way for better customer service.

I’ve been using their services for about 5 years — mostly sending packages to my sons in college. I love the personal service and the recognition I get when I walk in. I find their prices competitive, but it’s their service that is really outstanding!

I have been able to take care of urgent business quickly and efficiently at Postnet. I have shipped documents, packages, used the LiveScan service, and most recently Notary Public Service. The place is always busy but everyone is helped quickly.

Craig is great. He always calls me by name and I notice he does the same with other people. He’s very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable. I tend to drive a bit farther to see him rather than going to other copy and ship places.

Postnet is a my first choice for all shipping, faxing, printing needs. Craig is awesome — always friendly and helpful. There are many postal companies in the Pleasanton area, none as professional and courteous as Postnet. In fact, I make the drive to Postnet, even though it’s not the closest postal/​shipping store to me. It’s worth a little drive for the excellent care!
