Sierra Mobile Screen

We live in an old quaint house and the windows are not a regular size. When one screen was ruined I had a horrible time trying to find someone to come to the house and make a new one.
Fortunately, I found Sierra Mobile Screens in Playa Del Rey. Katherine who sets up the appointments was so so kind and helpful. I was able to get a new screen custom made to fit and get it installed within about a week. That may seem like a long time BUT it is worth the wait. I would give them 5 stars for a job perfectly done and for customer service but the demand for their service is far more than one expert guy can handle. So, maybe they could train another screen technician to help them.
If you want a screen done right call them and if it can be made on the spot for a regular size they will do a wonderful job.

These guys are amazing! We need a few screens made and since I had already done the work he suggested the place to go. They could have charged me double but looked out for us!

I’m really amazed by these companies who try to talk themselves out of doing the job. I had two screens that needed to be made. They were worried about where they were going to park because we are on a walk street near the beach. The stressed their minimum ($ 165) multiple times. Eventually they suggested another local company. Go elsewhere. Sierra Mobile Screen is not hungry for your business.

I highly recommend Sierra Mobile Screen. I thought I needed to replace 3 screen doors but after they took a look, they said I only need to refinish them which saved me a few hundred dollars. These are honest guys who put customer service before revenues. Don’t hesitate to give them a call if you need screen services!

Wow what a terrible experience with Sierra Mobile screens from start to finish. Both a total lack of professional courtesy and poorly done repair job. Some high (low?) lights:
*I live in a condo complex with a gate and a call box at the entrance. The dispatcher told me that the repairman could not possibly dial my number at the gate, get buzzed in, and walk the 200 yards to my unit. Dispatcher said that was too inconvenient. When I explained that I have a 5 month old baby with me, and it would be hard for me to wake the baby up and take her with me to the gate to meet the repair guy, the dispatcher got very irate with me and actually YELLED at me, and insisted that the repair guy would NOT be using the gate or walking the distance to my unit. Finally I relented and told the dispatcher that I would meet the repair guy at the gate of my condo complex and walk him in. I walked out to the location I specified, and waited for 20 mins, couldn’t find the repair guy whatsoever. I called both the dispatcher the repair guy’s cell phone and couldn’t reach either of them. Later, I end up spotting the repair guy’s truck at the other end of the street. I guess the dipatcher didn’t tell him the right place to meet me. When I waved him over, he pulled his truck up alongside me and proceeded to YELL AT ME that he’s had such a difficult time tracking me down (?). So at this point, I’m standing on the sidewalk with my little baby strapped into a bjorn on my chest and I have a burly guy screaming at me over what seems to be a logistical problem HE and HIS DISPATCHER created. And so now I’ve been told off by both the repair guy and the dispatcher. Had I not needed my screen fixed so badly, I would’ve just cancelled the repair. Which brings me to the repair itself.
* The repair guy removed my sliding screen door, replaced the busted screen, and then re-​installed the screen door… UPSIDE DOWN! Yep, all that drama and hassle, only to discover after the repair guy departed that he did the job wrong. OH and he charged me $ 95 for all of this (which he explained was a really great deal).
So to conclude, I will never use this company again.

Matt, owner of Sierra Mobile Screen, has a terrific screen door product and has provided us with superb service. Our dog walked through the screen recently and we thought the screen was completely demolished. Matt came by and within a few seconds made the screen look and work like new. It was amazing.

Matt came today, on time and replaced two screens for me. The screens were made on site, which was a good thing, since the measurements were a little irregular. The screens fit perfectly and are a lot nicer then the ones that were put in originally. Would definitely call Matt and his wife Catherine, who handled all the correspondence, again when I need new screens.

Matt and Catherine are a husband and wife team and they were both very easy to work with. I ordered 3 screens at $ 40 each and a sliding screen door at $ 250. Matt showed up promptly on a Saturday at the time I set up. He was in and out in about 30 mins after measuring and discussing options with me. I put down a deposit that day and gave me a receipt. He came back two weeks later (I am not available on weekdays or it could of been done sooner). He set up the screens/​door in a jiffy and also sprayed some silicone in order to stop the screeching that my old windows were making and he even gave me the remaining can for me to keep. Smooth and friendly service!

Oops! My bad. It took me 2 years to get around to writing this review but here was my experience. Matt was communicative, showed up right on time, and was amazing to watch in action. He was incredibly fast, efficient, skilled, and professional. His screens fit far better and were of far higher quality than the ones originally installed by the landlord. I would highly recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again in a heartbeat!

We have custom windows that do not have cranks and therefore need retractable screens in order to open the windows. Matt knows his screens and was able to come up with a solution right away. I had another service said nothing could be done. The screens are somewhat costly as a track frame has to be installed for each window, so I have slowly been adding more when I find places that really need them. Matt has been very patient through the multiple trips out here. I wouldn’t use anyone else.

I called this morning, and Sierra Mobile Screen showed up this afternoon. He replaced screens on three tall sliding screen doors, saving me an awkward trip to the hardware store. When he noticed some of the locks were broken, he fixed those, too — at no charge! What a convenience, and a good deal. We’ll use this business again.

I have used this company twice and each time the owner showed up on time, was very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend this company. You have to be home for the appointment, but he works fast, gets right down to doing the job and he does a great job. Worth every penny and the screens last forever and they provide privacy and shade. Excellent service and product. Thank you, Christine

My landlord chose this business and had them call me to set up an appointment. I talked to a woman 2 ½ weeks ago about getting a screen put on a small (2′ x 5’ish) front window. She said they could just come by and do it «sometime this week» and I wouldn’t even have to be home– great! (I thought).
I then got a call on a Wednesday that a guy would be by that day. SUPER. That day and the rest of the week went by and nothing happened. I thought maybe they had come and put it one someone else’s window or something because I didn’t hear from them at all.
— Sidebar: I have had this screen replaced in the past by a different company that came over in one day in a work truck, cut it and put it on in 20 min. —
I called them and received a voicemail back that said now this guy DOES need me to be home because he needs to ‘cut metal’ — so now he needs an outlet. The woman also said that this was a ‘major thing for just one screen”. She also said she would call me when this screen guy was available (this message is from a week and a half ago). I haven’t heard from them since then.
Overall I just felt like I was an inconvenience to these people. They made me feel like my one little screen wasn’t worth their time.

Worst customer service experience ever and by the owner too! Made an appt for Saturday morning. The owner arrived, and called me from downstairs with the worst attitude, as if I had inconvenienced him. He asked me why I couldn’t make the appt for midweek and was literally huffing and puffing. I never experienced a grown man acting that way before. I asked him if he wanted to forget it and he hung up on me. Hung up the phone! Unreal.
Use a real service.
A professional service who will treat you like a human being.
