I dropped my computer off on December 12^th. A week passed and I heard nothing from them. Because of my work schedule I didn’t have time to call. On the 21^st of December I show up at the establishment and low and behold the have an estimate for me. I asked why they didn’t call. Their reply was they tried and left a message. My number ends in 3860 they called 3866. The paperwork I filled out has 3860 also my home number and email address. They made it seem as if it was my fault that they called the wrong number and didn’t have the sense to call my home. The old lady at the front desk gave the rudest apology I every heard. I will never use this place again.

Jason & Susan had extended olive branch
Meaning there was a misunderstanding of how & what was said.
And I had gotten my MacBook Air repaired by them.
I had turned in the computer to them around 4:30 and I was getting a call around 12 the next day to say it was ready.
Now before you go nuts Not every problem can be fixed in a day or less than 24 hours for that matter.

It usually takes a lot for me to write a negative review much less complain. As I feel the pains of owning your own business. But when people are just not normal something needs to be said.
I am giving this place two stars because i think the guys who do work here are knowledgeable, I mean they are licensed by apple right, if that even means something, and they appeared, at least during the first encounter to be generally concerned with my problem. My issue, however, is with the customer service. Here is my experience with Mactracks. I show up as a walk in on a Friday and spoke with a gentleman with whom I explained my computer problems. He then explained options I had. After about 20 minutes into our convo, he then proceeds to explain that it may be a better option for me to sell my 2009 macbook pro as it is getting older. And that he could help get my laptop in working shape. Which, initially I felt it him trying to provide the best solution for me. Until, he mentioned that we could meet up later and he could buy/​sell my laptop for me. Which is when started to see red flags. Any case, i paid my $ 45 fee which basically was for nothing because i told him what my issues were. After which I was told by him they would call me the day after with a quotation before they would do anything. And just to emphasize… His words not mine.
Over the weekend I decided I would try to fix the issue myself as this is an old laptop, and is really more for me to have fun and tinker with. Fast forward to Monday, I show up again to pick up my laptop. When I meet, who I now have learned is the owner, Susan. As I begin to explain that I dropped off my laptop and I am now here to pick it back up. She proceeds to asks if I had spoken to anybody. Which I replied no that I have not, and that I decided I would take care of the issue my self. She’s frazzled at this point, which as a business owner myself, I thought was regarding a employee failing to follow-​up. Boy, was I wrong. She then started to get snappy with me for coming to the office without speaking to any one and letting them know what I had planned. As she frantically explained they need at least a day to complete any diagnostic. I am bewildered by this thought process and because of the attitude I am getting, Is this really how a representative of a company should act, much less the owner… Speaking in condescending tones and acting as if I was the problem for asking for my property back. NOoooo, Instead of simply just saying, Sorry for the misunderstanding we will try and get this fixed right away. I get this obviously hormonally imbalanced woman scolding me for not knowing their processes or proceduree. Not to mention being rudely interrupted multiple times. Any way as it continues on, she then begins to mock me to another employee saying, this guy doesn’t know what a diagnostic is, can you explain to him. What a wonderful human being. After she gets quite visibly flustered I finally get another person to help, calmly and thoroughly inform me what he is going to do and assemble my laptop together so I can never return to this place. Seriously props to that guy for working with such a person.
A little common curtesy can take you a long way. I am sure Susan will be, monitoring Unilocal as she obviously does if you read a few comments. Which will probably be refuted with paper thin excuses. Sure I could be just another person bitching without merit. Decide for your selves people if my review is unwarranted and if my BBB compliant is just blowing hot air. But eventually your value and integrity will be questioned.

Cant find any company that could that fix my laptop so I asked my friends to recommend a good company when it comes to Mac Problems. I want some files to be recovered and my MAC desktop to be repaired. Surprisingly, they will give you a high price when it comes to the repair and data recovery.
I can afford it but its that reasonable to pay that such amount. And I also don’t think that they can do what I am asking because of the bad things that I red here on Unilocal

I have to say that this isn’t a place you want to take your computer.
The amount of time it takes for them to repair it is usually insane.
They also will not sell you the parts to fix it yourself.
There are times people don’t want to wait around to have a working computer.
Just take your computer to the Apple store.
It’ll cost the same, and you’ll get it back faster.

I used MacTracks for the first time in May 2013 when the hard drive of my 17″ MacBook Pro (Mid-​2011) crashed. They were fantastic to work with, ran a diagnostic, updated me with the results, provided recommendations regarding data recovery on the bad drive, as well as a price quote for the recovery of data onto a new drive. They had it all done within several days and I received several phone calls with updates on the progress.
Flash forward to a week ago and the new drive crashed again (no fault of MacTracks — bad drive from Western Digital). I contacted MacTracks immediately and they went above and beyond to help me get my computer and data back. Susan, Jason, and Andrew were great to work with and they were very concerned with making sure I was happy. Fortunately, the hard drive was still under warranty but WD required me to remove the drive, pay for it to be shipped back to them, and only then would WD send a new drive.
While it was being repaired, I chose to upgrade the memory and they installed a larger drive as well. As with the first service repair, they called me several times to update me on the status of the attempted data repair.
Don’t believe all the Unilocal ratings on their page. Unilocal is notorious for filtering only bad reviewed unless you paid for upgraded marketing. They really do care about helping you get your Mac equipment repaired. I would recommend them to anyone that has issues with any Apple product.

I tried these guys more than once, and all I can say is watch out. The owner is condescending, and they are not responsive. They recently told me I needed a new motherboard on my MacbookPro. Over $ 900. The took my Mac to the Apple store. They ran some diagnostics on it, and determined that all I needed was a new battery. $ 125. Works like new now. Hard to believe that an authorized repair facility would not have access to the same diagnostics. I know Apple often times charges more to fix things, but at least you know they are going to back what they sell, and have no interest in misleading you.

Short story: They strung me along and then took my Macbook because I didn’t pick it up in 30 days.
I took a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air to Mactracks for repair. The Macbook Pro had water damage from a slight spill, and I was assured that they could fix it because they have «the same kind of cleaning facilities as Apple.» The Macbook Air’s screen was destroyed and needed to be replaced.
The Macbook Pro was delivered back to me in a timely manner, and it worked. I noticed that the screen had a circle on it (as if someone had set a coffee mug on it and it warped the pixels, but I could only see it when the screen was perfectly black, so I let it go. That said, it is alarming that I took the computer in for water damage, and while fixing it they either swapped out my screen by mistake or damaged it slightly.
So, somewhat of a good experience on that computer.
I waited about a month for the Macbook Air, and every time I called the (very pleasant) man who worked up front said that they couldn’t find a refurbished screen. I called about every week but was in no hurry because it was my daughter’s computer, and I just had her move to the desktop. After about six weeks I called, and the man replied that they couldn’t find a screen and that I should just get it replaced from the Apple store. I live about 40 minutes away, so I told them I’d be up as soon as I could. I was in Plano about a week later on a Sunday, but they were closed. I was back in town a couple weeks later and stopped to pick up my Macbook Air.
The person up front said I took so long so they «recycled it.» I was totally aghast. I was like, «So let me get this straight. You strung me along for over six weeks, and when I come to pick up the computer you’ve basically taken it from me?» His response was that the contract I signed states that if I don’t pick up the computer in 30 days that they can recycle it without any compensation. I said, «But you kept telling me to call back the next week for SIX weeks!» His response was to repeat the «we have the right to recycle computers after 30 days.»
So, basically, Mactracks stole my Macbook Air by making me wait over 30 days for a repair and then telling me that I lost the right to get it back by not claiming it within 30 days.
As the multiple 1 star reviews on Unilocal should indicate to you. This is absolutely the LAST place you should trust with your Apple products.
EDITED TO ADD: In response to the Mactracks comment below. They never called me about picking up the laptop. NEVER. So you can now add «responds to criticism by lying» to the above comments. As I mention above, don’t take my word for it, take a look at the multiple one star reviews.

If you need a place to help fix your Mac, this is the place for you. Right off of 75 and Plano Pkwy, this hidden office houses all the support you need in fixing your Apple products.
I took my iMac (Early 2008) in that was having some issues. They first charge $ 45 to run diagnostic tests and then called me once they learned the problem. I was quoted a cost (one that I was not shocked by) and gave them the «go» to fix my machine. The turned around my computer in less than three days and also included my initial $ 45 diagnostic fee into the overall cost of replacing the part versus charging me additionally.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to have their Apple products worked on or parts replaced!

AMAZING! I took my MacBook Pro to Mactracks after Apple told me I would have to get my logic board replaced because my headphone jack wasn’t working. I didn’t feel like spending $ 310 to have them keep my computer for a week. They fixed it and cleaned my logic board in less than an hour. They saved me so much money and time and the customer service was outstanding!

My MacBook took a tumble and the hard drive started to fail, so I started looking around for a repair place that was not an Apple Store, but still an authorized repair center. I found this place online, and when I called for some more information, I was greeted with a VERY helpful, friendly staffer who answered all of my questions and gave me very thorough directions (since I was coming from Uptown).
I price-​shopped one place that was closer to my home, but they wanted to charge $ 15/​hour more than Mactracks, and were not very helpful over the phone anyway. So I decided Mactracks would be worth the trip.
It was. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by very friendly staffers who immediately began to ask questions about the nature of my problem, and explaining their services and solutions as I filled out the paperwork (just a short form). I left it there around 1pm, got a call a couple hours later confirming the diagnosis (failing hard drive), and a price quote to replace. It was finished and ready to go around 5pm the same day.
Pricing seemed reasonable to me (not a lot of experience), especially considering I ended up with a new, bigger, faster hard drive and a laptop that had been cleaned up inside of dust, etc.
I sincerely hope that I don’t have to visit them again, but if I expereince any problems with my Mac, you can bet that I will take it here. So worth my time to make the drive. Friendly, professional, fast service. I can see why they have a 100% rating with Apple. 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up!

Referred by a friend, I recently took my Dr Pepper-​damaged Macbook Pro to Mactracks in Plano. I walked right in and was immediately greeted by a friendly staffer who had a technician quickly look at my computer. They charged a $ 45 diagnostic fee, but it counted towards the overall repair cost. While I couldn’t pay the estimated amount for the repair at the time, I took the computer home and waited a few weeks until I had saved enough money to be able to have it repaired. The estimated price for the repair was at least half of what the Apple Store at Northpark quoted me, hence my willingness to return to Mactracks and give them a shot. So I schlepped back to Plano, and when I dropped it off, Mactracks picked up the estimate right where we left off and had the computer repaired in two days. The technician, Andrew, was even able to move my personal documents, programs, etc onto a new hard drive, saving me tons of time and energy. I’m very pleased with the quality/​speed of the repair and the personal service Mactracks was able to deliver. It definitely seems like they care about their customers and appreciate their business. I would highly recommend Mactracks to anyone in the DFW area needing an Apple computer repair.
