I’ve been here a couple of times, and in general, It’s not the best place. My last stop included two TERRIBLY cooked meals. My girlfriend ordered a bacon cheeseburger that was so burnt, she had to send it back — not something she will typically do. Upon getting the 2nd burger, we see that it is JUSTASBURNT! It was hard to understand how that was possible. I ordered the Cuban burger that ended up being unseasoned pork drenched in yellow mustard. Pretty gross, but at least it wasn’t as insanely overcooked as the burger. We went on a Sunday, and it was pretty dead. However, the bartenders chat up the locals, which left us feeling somewhat neglected. The only reason I didn’t give the place 1 star is because it has a small handful of things going for it. We enjoyed the variety of bar games they had available — 3 pool tables, air hockey, 2 dart boards, one of those basketball games, and a vintage Mrs. Packman. It was also a beautiful day and their outside space is okay(on a busy noisy road, though). I have had the wings here, and they’re decent. Lots of different flavors(although the names are confusing). Unless you live close, I wouldn’t bother going to this bar. There are plenty of better places out there. Honestly I don’t really trust the food!

They have the BEST wings here! Their sauces are all amazing and the wings are perfectly cooked. Only thing stopping me from giving them five out of five stars is the wait staff and creepy atmosphere. They need a serious makeover…

I drive past this place all the time and finally decided to stop in. I was surprised by how seedy it looks. You walk in and are hit with a wall of smoke which never happens in Connecticut since indoor smoking has been banned in Connecticut for some years now. I don’t know what was going on here. Not my kind of scene.

I do not recommend Firehouse Bar & Grille. Beer wasn’t very cold and was served in a glass that the bartender barely cleaned in the bar sink. The wings weren’t bad but were nothing special. I’m not sure if the bartender was having a bad night but she was throwing things, breaking beer bottles and arguing with customers. She was the only one working and was quite busy, but there should be no reason to act like that. The place felt rather grimy and although I only went once, that was enough to never go back. If you’re looking for great wings and food, cold beer in frosted mugs and great customer service, head over to Central Café instead.

Here’s the thing about this place… wings are outstanding! But the bar is ok. They do have a good amount of tvs all through the bar. They also have a couple pool tables. Though most times I go in it is dead and there isn’t much of an atmosphere. But if you are looking for wings this is the best spot in the area. Better than J Tims and Sliders.

This place is a total townie bar. If you want the typical bar food, roughneck, watery beer scene it’s worth a visit.

Beer prices are too high. The owner need to adjust them. The food is very mediocre. They have steamed cheese burgers which was good, but not great. Someone ordered a chicken parm, but was a frozen piece of chicken with sauce. Did not look that appetizing. But… The wings — These are fantastic!!! John has over 90 flavors of wings. Cooked perfect and i have a lot more to try! If the food and beer was reasonable, it would get 5 stars. But… I will return!

Meh. Nothing special about this place. Interior is semi-depressing but they do have good bands come in once in a while.

Firehouse seems to be doing well so far. They’re relatively new, and I’ve gone for karaōke only a couple times. Seems to be picking up and getting some regulars, which is great to hear. Tried the nachos the first time I went and they were pretty darn good. Looking forward to trying the wings which I keep hearing are excellent. The décor is, of course, fire house related, with a uniform hanging and flames painted on the walls. They are located within shouting distance of the Plainville Fire Department(go figure: P) There are a couple pool tables, an area with ample seating, and of course plenty of spots at the bar itself. There is also plenty of parking in the adjacent lot which it shares with Nutmeg TV. There is a covered patio type deal out front with one or two tables for smokers. I bet after trying those wings this will get bumped up to four stars. :)

Add Firehouse to your list of great places to get wings in Plainville. The wings are cooked prefectly and almost all the flavors are great. I’ve tried over 15 of their 86 flavors so far. I suggest the Shawn’s Thai Chilli Sauce, Sunshine’s Thai Peanut Butter Sauce, Buffalo Blue, Medium Buffalo, and the Southwest Chipotle BBQ flavors. The pizza is decent, nothing special. There’s a lot on the menu, and I’m looking forward to trying more. The place is new, and it may seem a little erie and quite if there is no music playing. The crowd is a little older for my type of a hang out. Not a bad place to grab a few beers and wings, though. If you only eat«buffalo» flavored wings, you are better off with Sliders or J. Timothy’s, but if you are looking for variety Firehouse is the place to go.
