The Power Club

Power Club! I started coming here after a co-​worker told me about it. I have never been a person that takes any kind of post workout or meal replacement shake, but this place really changed my tune. I have literally come here after every workout. The shakes are delicious and they have a ton of flavors to choose from. Staff is really nice and knowledgeable. A must try if you’re in the area!

Customer service… Above and beyond! On our way and getting a healthy start to our Golden Globes weekend. Needed an aloe shot/​green tea and protein shake to look fabulous tomorrow! We didn’t realize they were closed today — and they were having a training. Amazing customer service — Thank you AJ and team for opening up for us and setting us up. I love The Power Club! I come all the time with my mom and sister for a healthy lunch! We love our aloe, tea, and protein shake. Everyone in there is very friendly and energetic. Definitely recommend!

It’s a herbalife shop. If you like water, ice and powder in your fruit smoothie then this place is for you. I personally like more fruit than powder in my fruit smoothie. Even the ice tea is a power. They try to get all your personal info which is dumb just for a smoothie and try to sell you herbalife stuff. I’ll have to say herbalife has a lot of flavors. Btw, I agree with Joey D I got the odd vib from this place when they first opened many years ago.

What an odd place.
Ever walk into a place and get an instant «this place is odd» vibe? That’s what happened when I walked in. I was just looking for a good smoothie — I had no idea that this place was associated with Herbalife or that buying a smoothie would be a whole process.
First off, this is a Herbalife smoothie shop. Only come here if you want Herbalife products or want to be part of that culture. I wish I had read a bit more before I stopped by — I just wanted a regular smoothie.
This places pushes all their drinks by having you engage in some type of Herbalife flight of different products. You order a shake, but get an aloe shot, an «iced tea», and then the shake. And it’s kind of expensive. I didn’t want all that nonsense, I just wanted a smoothie/​shake. Aside from all that, it tasted terrible. It’s their supplement powder and ice. I wanted something fresh. Not powder.
The staff was friendly enough, but also odd. It wasn’t about serving the customer the item they ordered, it was about promoting the bigger product, which is Herbalife. And since Herbalife has been accused of being pyramid scheme and is being investigated by the FTC, I’d rather just stay away from that sinking ship. Hell, if the shake had been decent I could have thought, «good product, but not for me». But that wasn’t the case. It tasted like a funky protein powder shake.
Unilocalers — know what you’re getting when you come to a place like this. I walked in the door and I wasn’t treated terribly, so I can’t justify a one star review. However, I definitely feel mislead. Ask yourself this — if all they sell is Herbalife products, then why don’t they advertise Herbalife anywhere on the numerous windows outside their shop? Do a quick search on Herbalife and that question will be answered.

I was looking for a place to get a smoothie after I ate my subway for lunch, and came across this place.
I got lost because this place isn’t called Power UP… it’s called Power GROUP! It’s in a little plaza next to Flame Broiler and Stater Bros.
Let me tell you. When I first pulled up, I was like, «what the actual heck…» because it was all dark and I felt so weird! Like I was in the wrong place or something. So I just sat there because it seemed like it was a gym or something and I didn’t want to walk in wearing my normal clothes because for some reason I just didn’t want to.
Lucky me though, some lady came out of the place holding a smoothie! So I said, «what the heck» and went inside. It’s a smoothie place, but they only have Herbalife smoothies! I was kind of sad because I really wanted something fruity, nonetheless I decided to get something because I hate walking into a place and not getting something, not to mention I drove pretty far to get there because the freaking maps on Unilocal was acting all wonky and took me to the wrong place initially.
But ya, so I went up to the counter and mentioned that it was my first time there and the guy enthusiastically asked me what my name was, poured me a shot of aloe juice and told me to take it, and as I was taking it, he rang a little bell and said «HEY, EVERYONE!!! CHANTELLE’S FIRST SHOT!!!» and like, the 5 people that were there were like, «WOOOO!!» and I felt a little embarrassed, but then he gave me a coupon for a free smoothie for the next time I come, and I felt a little better.
Then he said I got to have a tea, and I picked peach. Mostly tastes like water, but I like my tea like that so I was pretty happy with that. Then I picked the apple crumble smoothie or something like that.
When they were done making it, they gave me my smoothie, and the cashier guy introduced me to some lady and told me that she was my «coach» or something rather.
I left feeling strange, and very full. That smoothie was supposed to be a meal replacement but I already ate a freaking foot long sub from subway, and I didn’t want my smoothie to melt so I drank it all and felt really full the rest of the day.
I went back a few days later so that I could get my free smoothie, tea, and aloe shot but I don’t think I’ll be going back anymore because I felt very weird in there.

I came here because it is such a mysterious little shop and I just wanted to know what it was about. Got a smoothie and thought that would be it but I got my weight and body fat percentage/​bmi checked and as the guy was writing my numbers down on some chart he was going to say that I classify as «overweight» and when he looked up and actually looked at me we had the most awkward moment because I’m 5’4″ and 120. Lol, looks like they need to properly calibrate their equipment.

I got told I looked like I gained weight by a worker so… Eh I wouldn’t recommend going on a day your self esteem is low. Make sure you lose a few lbs in between visits.

I love this place. I’ve only been here three times and each time it’s great. The shakes are good and everyone seems pretty friendly. The stinks do have that protein powder after taste but it’s nothin bad. The Cinnabon is by far my favorite. Once I can afford it I’m definitely coming in for a consultation and for help to change my ways. So glad there’s a place like this.

I love love love this place. I have sent so many of my friends and family members over. And they all say the same thing AMAZING. The shakes are delicious and the people who work there are so fun and friendly. They always take the time to sit and talk with me if I ever have any questions or need any health tips. I go a few times a week and I would recommend it to everyone!

I came here once when this place first opened up. I thought it was a pretty cool concept and the drinks were decent. I’m not really into the while juicing fad but after a really bad cheat day at the fair, I decided to come here Saturday afternoon after the gym. I find out that it’s closed on Saturdays. Unilocal says it’s open, the doors open up and I seem to have walked into a training session of some sort and was told it was closed. First of all, why would you close a juicing business on a Saturday? I feel like it’s poor business to be closed on a weekend when people actually have time to get juice. Second, maybe you should have a distinct closed sign so that customers don’t walk on dumbfounded. Last, contact Unilocal and change your store hours, it’s misleading.

First time customer, not what I was expecting at all, but happily surprised. Shot of aloe, iced tea and a shake all for $ 7. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a really good experience and I will be coming back for sure!

Place is located on NW corner of Imperial and Rose, not very well advertised. Does not smell like cigarettes, is not a juice bar, and they don’t ever try to push herbalife. Aloe for digestion, tea for energy and a protein shake. 7 $, Good till lunch on 200 calories! Shakes are amazing, haters are delusional. Try it!

Went here for the first time today. It was actually really nice. I was glad to see so many different flavored shakes. The staff was super nice and informative to what flavors were the best sellers. The place was clean and pretty basic. I got a tea, aloe shot and shake for 7 bucks. I will be returning because I now know where I can get a HL tea and shake close to work. Super happy about that.

Not bad when you are getting all this. They had a lot to pick from. I just dropped by since I was in the area. It is far from me so it was cool to stop when I was near by. The tea was good, loved the aloe vera shot, and shake was good but i was scared when i saw the syrup (that alot of other coffee shops use). SUGAR ekk. It’s okay its not like i dont have sugar lol. more often than I should. Good spot. Nice services.

I was initially super skeptical about Power Up just because I thought it was kind of like a Jamba Juice or Robeks and wasn’t down to pay $ 6.50.
You get three drinks.
1. 5 oz shot of aloe vera
2. 16 oz iced tea drink
3. 16 oz protein shake
The aloe shot is okay. Not good, not bad.
The iced tea is terrible in my opinion. I’ve gotten the raspberry and peach flavors and haven’t liked either so I usually just down this drink as fast as I can.
The protein shake is where the good stuff is really at. #21 is Mint Chocolate Chip and I get that all the time! I first tried Oreo Cookies which was just okay but Mint Chocolate Chip is the way to go.
I come here every Mon, Wed and Fri which are the days I have work. It can get crowded during lunch time so expect to spend 20 – 30 minutes till you get all your drinks.
Basically, all three of these drinks provide you with around half of your daily nutrients. These drinks are very low in carbs, high in protein and all under 200 calories.
A great meal substitute and you can definitely feel a difference in your energy levels.
I’m definitely contemplating buying their mixes so I can just make all this stuff at home because of how good the protein shakes taste and of the great health benefits.
Be prepared to use the bathroom a considerable amount of times after consuming these drinks because of how these drinks cleanse your system along with all the liquid you drank.
Give this place a try!

Love this place! Staff is friendly and always remembers your name. Their herbalife shakes are great and fast if you’re not there during lunch. #12 Caramel Powerchino is my favorite. Bummed that my trainer Vinnie left but happy that he opened his own place (Next Level on Chapman in Orange.)
The only thing I’d change is that recently they decided to no longer allow people to order more than 1 shake at a time so people don’t have to wait in line while someone gets shakes for their 20 coworkers. I can understand that, but considering the program recommends two shakes daily, it seems to make sense to me that they should allow you to order 2 shakes so you don’t have to come back in 3 hours!
Consider pre-​paying for 6 shakes and the 7^th is free. Ask for a card!

What had started as a juice cleanse search on Unilocal led me to Power UP. Located in the Stater Bros. plaza on Rose/​Imperial (on my way to work, conveniently), I was wow-​ed by the reviews and bookmarked this place yesterday.
A recent juice/​health craving led me here today and after explaining to the cashier (no name tag) that it was my first time here, she asked me if she could introduce me to the benefits and enthusiastically did so. She didn’t try to ‘sell’ me anything, and I was actually the one to bring up the pay-​for-​seven-​get-​eighth-​free card. I probably should’ve asked her for recommendations but went with the banana foster, which was quite sweeter than expected. I adored the tea, which wasn’t sweet and almost watery. Maybe I’m getting old but I thought it was a welcomed change.
It took me quite some time to get my drink order and noted that I should make ample time to stop by here if I’m planning to before work. It’s not an in-​and-​out type of place.
I noted a poster on the wall that said get some physical evaluation in 30 seconds, and since I bought the card, I thought it’d be nice to see if I made any improvements (or not, no pressure). However, getting everything analyzed took quite some time. Still, I thought it was worth the time. I don’t know how accurate it is but you should check it out!
Anyway, the entire Power UP experience took about, or over, half an hour. I think they have a lovely little community here! A lot of people seem to be here to lose weight, and I think there’s a lot of motivation here. Best of luck to everyone!
P. S. The updated prices are: $ 6.50, $ 7.50, and $ 8.50. Was a bit bummed out that it wasn’t $ ⁵⁄₆ dollars as in the reviews (nor did I get a free smoothie ad).

Great place.
For $ 6 you get a shot of aloe, a cup of tea, and a smoothie.
So many different smoothies to choose from and they are less than 200 calories. They use a bunch of different herbalife protein mixes and vitamins. They do use different artificial Torani syrups to get their different flavors.
The wait isn’t too bad if it is busy. The staff is very friendly.
You can also get your weight and body fat and a whole bunch of other stuff measured if you choose to.
