The technician who serviced our furnace was Don M. and he did an AMAZING, job thoroughly checking everything; He deserves five stars. We were very pleased with those from Stewart Heating who installed our heater 6 years ago. But BEWARE: for 2 years we were charged for maintenance services not rendered until a technician caught the error and made sure we were credited. Worse than that, they were going to charge for this maintenance visit because they had no record that we had signed and pre-​payed a 2 year maintenance contract. We had to scan them a copy of the service contract showing we had payed. Vikki gave no apologies instead said: «just so you know the technician should not have mentioned on the last invoice that you had one more paid maintenance.» Really, I said «why do the technicians know more than the bookkeeping department?» We came so close to double paying had I not found the maintenance agreement. Spent a lot of my time trying to persuade her to check her records & researching for proof.

I continued to be really surprised and impressed with these guys. I don’t know why, but I feel like these days most service companies are just out to fleece you and the more ignorant you are on their area of expertise the worse it will be. Maybe that’s not fair to the industry, but I bet a lot of you feel this way. As I wrote in another review I signed up for an annual maintenance and inspection for both heating and plumbing. I finally had the plumbing inspection done. This was the real deal. They have a 30+ point inspection checklist and are really thorough using different dyes to test valves and inspecting water in the water heater. What really blew me away though was their plumber James R. Similar to the last person that came out for the furnace, James is top-​notch. He was very respectful of my home and just damn personable. Everything was nearly perfect, but he did notice a small puddle of water under my kitchen sink. I thought, «oh great, here it goes.» Turned out it was a caulking issue around the tub and he just told me how to fix it to save me money. This company is seriously out for lifetime customers vs. a quick buck. It shows with how their people operate. I ended up having him redo the toilet connection at the floor after my previous DIY job… well, let’s just say I screwed it up, made a mess with the wax, and the thrown rocked like a nursing chair. He fixed it quickly and because of my annual deal I got 15% off. As a new home owner wishing he had a landlord again sometimes, I’m glad I have these guys to call.

Stewart Heating and Air installed our furnace three years ago and they have been providing excellent service and maintenance since that time. Jaime, Service Tech, has been out to our home several times and he is always accommodating to our schedule, friendly and professional. Most importantly, he explains what he is doing as he goes along so we know what to expect next. We cannot say enough good things about how satisfied we have been with Stewart Heating and Air and their staff!

We were blown away by the professionalism, pleasant behavior and technical skills that Jesus and Sam from Stewart Heating and Air provided us!
They were on time daily, very communicative and cleaned the work area each day before they left.
I would highly recommend this company based on these two employees and their hard work.

Called Stewart about a leaking water heater, they were able to arrange for a replacement the next afternoon. They arrived on time, and removed the old water heater and installed a new one within a couple of hours with little fuss. Price for the emergency replacement was reasonable.

I would stay away from them at all cost. Took almost a year to fix a design issue, multiple calls complaints, building officials not passing the permit… ETC…
Per the OWNER of the COMPANY, bldg exp and an independent inspector, My BRAND NEW system was not provided enough gas due to their install…
It was working on ½ cylinders for car people. Let alone all of the other problems on the job, did not clean up. Overall messiness. Complaints about mgmt from installers… HACK work.
Stay away!!! Rich, Ryan (owners son) and Yancy are flat out lairs…

After speaking to bill yet again. He personally saw to it that our concerns were heard and quickly went in to action to fix our issues. New techs were tasked to clean up the work. Bill met with us several times to be sure the system was corrected to our liking. We would have preferred to have the ducts removed completely, then reinstalled correctly. But this could not be done without costly re-​testing. Even though we were dissatisfied with the attempts to correct our issues, Bill personally made sure we were happy in the end.
We appreciated Bill Stewarts honesty, and integrity. He apologized and made it right for us, and he continues to make sure that our system is in top shape. I wish he would have helped with a better discount for the insulation job we need. But maybe in the future, he will come through with this request. I would still recommend his company again, but always check the work whenever you hire a contractor.

Stewart Heating and Air installed our new furnace and A/​C over ten years ago and has returned to provide maintenance on the system every six months since then. Every technician who works on our system has been very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Today’s tech was Alfred who is an example of the kind of person Stewart Heating and Air employs. We recommend them highly.

Rich came out to give us an estimate and was very thorough. He also told us about rebates that were available. We were going to replace our whole system (Air Conditioner, Furnace, Duct Work). The bid was reasonable and in line with the other estimates I received. Because Rich was so accommodating with his time and he was willing to help me get rebates and financing, I decided to go with Stewart Heating and Air.
The office staff is also very helpful. Very courteous over the phone and helped me with all my questions.
The workers came out on time and ready to go. Junior and Paul were great! Very polite and courteous. They were here for 3 days and always cleaned up their mess, laid down drop cloths and told us if they needed anything.
I highly recommend this company!!!

This review is for the estimate and schedule portion only. Plus side– Christina was very responsive and quick to work with me to schedule an appointment. They came within the allotted time frame. The bad — they will definitely try to rip you off. I only wanted to repair my HVAC system per my inspection. Previous to Stewart heating coming out, I received a quote of $ 610 to do exactly what I needed. When the representative from Stewart came out, I was told that my air conditioner coils was unfixable and would need to be replaced. This was going to cost me $ 1500 plus the other work I needed. The total was $ 2245. I would advise if you were to use this company to get other quotes along with this. Do not let them convince you that something needs to be replaced.

We needed to get our whole system replaced, which we knew would be costly. We wanted to make sure we got the best for our money. We had various quotes from at least 4 different companies. We finally decided to go with Stewart. From beginning to end, starting with Rich, and moving on with the job with Yancy, Jeff, and Jack we were happy with the job. Everything was explained to us and if we had any additional questions, these guys were happy to answer them. Every one of them was great. Rich was professional, Yancy was here on the first day of the job, he was called to another one but on that first day, he was great. Jack was helpful in answering questions and explaining the process. We had a small issue and we contacted Jack, and even though it was later in the evening, he was over right away to fix it. Jeff contacted me right away when I had a small concern after he left, he explained it well and everything was fine. Jeff has a great personality and is all around great, and he knows when to get serious and get to work. I waited and am glad to see that Jeff was added to the review buzz, as he was previously not on there to be able to add him to the review. Overall, we enjoyed having these guys work and complete our Heating and Air job.

James came to our home yesterday to inspect our Plumbing Maintenance needs and we were completely satisfied with his professional manner and helpful nature and we look forward to dealing with him in the future.

James R came to our house and serviced our furnace and air conditioner. He did a fantastic job. He was very thorough and clean. We have used Stewart Heating and Air for many years in our house and rentals. They always do a great job.

Tech claimed that there was a leak and battery for the ac unit needed to be charged. It was a cost of $ 929 with an estimate of $ 140 per a pound of recharging the ac unit which a total of 7lbs needed to be charged per tech. An hour later the Tech comes back saying that the whole ac unit needed to be replaced as the ac was down doing its job. He then says its a cost of $ 5627 for a whole new ac unit. Total RIP OFF!!! A bunch of scam and liars. Just working of the money. Then after claiming that the whole new ac unit was needed. He goes up in my attic unplugs everything so my ac that was working downstairs stops. I give him a call he says he will come back and take a look at it.
When he comes back he says another $ 3700 would needed to be spent for a new furnace since there is a leak.
A total of almost $ 10K the tech was asking for after all when he did nothing to try to fix the main problem. But was attempting to over charge and make his monies worth.
I had my dad’s friend fix everything that this lame tech was trying to RIP me off for $ 395. Now both my upstairs AC and downstairs work perfectly fine.
On top of everything the tech didn’t even trying fixing the major problem, just went right into how I needed a whole new ac unit and so forth.
This is far the worst company I ever worked with. Bunch of SCAMS. I would never recommend this one to anyone.

RIP OFF! I was charged $ 368 for this company to come over and «repair» my AC, but all they did was beat some dirt out of my air filter, make up some BS then charge me a whopping $ 368! Total scam!!!
Tech claimed he replaced the «voltage absorption system». I had never heard of such a thing so I called them and asked what it was. They said he replaced any damaged wires and the capacitor. Checked and capacitor looked old and wires were exposed (not replaced).
We watched him the whole time and all we saw him do was bang some dirt out of the air filter.
Called 2^nd company over to verify that capacitor was not replaced. Sure enough they had never heard of a «voltage absorption system» either and they verified capacitor was several years old
Stewart heating and AC are DISHONEST THIEVES!

James installed a kitchen faucet for me, was courteous, communicative, and professional. Will use Stewart again.

Don McKinzie is a treasure. Don came out to look at our ‘dead’ central AC unit. We were just back from vacation and while the AC ran, it delivered very little cold air. Understanding my budgetary constraints, Don focused on the AC issues and in order to make the ‘fix’ less costly for me, taught me how to gently brush the myriad animal hairs & fluff from the delicate AC filters on all four sides of the AC unit outdoors. Two days later when he returned to complete the diagnostic inspection of the system, he found the contractor to be worn, the EVAP coils in the attic needs cleaning, but in spite of those problems, the system was again able to deliver 53 °F cold air. A save! I appreciated that Don did not over-​dramatize the AC situation, making me feel as if anything less than a new unit would solve our AC problem. He was very kind, efficient and was so warm & sweet to our many cats & dogs and my two curious tween/​teens. Plus, he taught us a lot about basic AC maintenance and how we can prolong the life of our current system. A total gem and a gentle giant. Be sure to ask for Don should you have any AC or EVAP issues. You will be in for a treat!

This IS as good as it gets! WOW! They are exceedingly professional, detailed, efficient, pleasant. I’m impressed. We had our A/​C and Furnace replaced. We received the best quality and efficient products. We had a professional electrician come out for an estimate on something else, he commented/​complimented us saying he was impressed with our A/​C, that it is highly efficient. They took care of the insulation in our attic… it’s now at an R-​50 rating. Our PG&E bills have decreased big time. Stewart HVAC handled all aspects, including the permits and inspections. They were very detailed. Bill and his staff took great care of us! So far, so great!

Update: we refused to allow them to fix our unit. As you can see below, Ryan is vey unprofessional and uncaring to their customers. They never fixed the problems they caused and we honestly don’t trust them working on our unit anymore. Dealing with that company and trying to communicate with them is too much work and too stressful. We have found a more respectable and mature company/​owner to help us correctly and quickly fix the problems Stewart has caused.

I contacted Stewart Heating & Air Conditioning through Angie’s List for a diagnostic visit and estimate because our AC stopped working.
Rich reported an active wasp nest and said we needed to exterminate that before he could proceed. Due to the pre-​July 4^th heat wave, this required a emergency visit at an extortionistic cost to deal with the wasps (on our condo 3^rd floor roof).
Next, Don from Stewarts came to complete the diagnostic visit and mentioned that he carries a can of wasp spray in the truck. So i didn’t need an exterminator apparently.
Don finds that the compressor needed replacement and reported that this would require replacing my entire heating & air conditioning system.
I just didn’t believe him.
I next receive a quote from Ryan Stewart, presumably the owner of Stewart’s, to replace my HVAC system for $ 8,224. Ryan insisted on questioning that the old and new components would not work together, which may very well be true of the Bryant systems they provide.
At this point, my HOA required me to seek a second opinion from a contractor willing to replace the bad component rather than the entire system.
I found Hassler Heating & Air Conditioning, who replaced the bad compressor for around $ 2,500, a savings of about $ 5,700.
I liked everything about my interaction with Hassler and very little about my interaction with Stewart.
