History

Established in 1983.

Our practice was established in 1955 by Dr. George McDonald. In 1983 Dr. Mcdonald retired and Dr. Jacobs continued the practice, providing the same professional and personal care the practice was known for. We continue to see patients that have been with the practice over 50 years.

In 2006 Dr. Jacobs opened the Pismo Beach Optometric Center in the Pismo Coast Plaza shopping center. Moving to the new location allowed us to provide a modern, up to date facil;ity to provide comprehensive vision and medical eyecare services. Our new dispensary offers an extensive frame selection and today’s most sophisticated spectacle and contact lenses.

Business Owner

Dr. Jacobs graduated with honors from Southern California College of Optometry in 1981. He also has received bachelors and masters degrees from UC Davis. He is a past president of the Tri-​County Optometric Society and coordinated the school screening program in San Luis Obispo County for several years. He is a member of the Greater Pismo Beach Kiwanis and has served as president and Chairman of the Kiwanis Sight Read Aloud contest for several years.

After spending years coaching softball, basketball and soccer with his now adult daughters, you will find Dr. Jacobs in his garden or at a Kiwanis project during his free time.
