History

Established in 1995.

In 1995 Dr. Peterson bought the optometry practice of Dr. Jack Pence in the village of Arroyo Grande. Dr. Pence had been helping local families with their vision needs since the 1950’s. Dr. Peterson has continued the tradition of family-​friendly eye care with updated technology and a modern location, now at the Pismo Beach Medical Campus, at the corner of James Way and Oak Park Blvd.

Dr. Ken Peterson is a graduate of the University of California School of Optometry in Berkeley. He also holds a degree in biology from Fresno State University. Ken loves what he does to help people see better and enjoy their lives here on California’s Central Coast. He and his wife Margie have three children. They attend New Life Community Church in Pismo Beach and are active sponsors in local youth sports programs. Ken loves playing and watching sports. You’ll catch him rooting for the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants, Fresno State Bulldogs and Cal Bears!
