Pet Rest Cremation Services

I lost my beloved Sissy Girl right before Christmas, and our vet sent her to Pet Rest. They said it would be 10 – 14 days. She was ready exactly 10 days later. I wasn’t sure what to expect since my husband picked out the urn, but I was very happy with the presentation. Her beautiful urn was in a black velvet bag, and it came with a certificate of cremation with a wonderful poem on it that was perfect.
But my biggest surprise was in the second velvet bag. It was a clay imprint of her paw! I had no idea they would do that, and I burst into tears. I’m so happy I have it, and Pet Rest made it possible.

We recently had to say goodbye to our Jade, a large Doberman, because of age. We were certain that we wanted her to be cremated so that we could take her with us if we ever had to move. Our vet, Pfenning Lane Animal Hospital, sent Jade to Pet Rest. My big concern was that we would be getting the remains of an unknown animal back.
What was returned to us was a very nice and tasteful wood urn with a brass plaque with «Jade» engraved upon it. When I got the courage to look at the ashes inside, I was not only surprised at the amount we go back, but that a knee implant that was put in Jade several years ago came back in the ashes. This is a very specific knee implant, so we have total confidence that what is inside that urn is our lost Jade. I can’t say how much this puts my mind at ease.

We went with this service on the recommendation of our vet when our precious Great Dane, Trooper, passed away. We were 2,300mi away on vacation so we really were not in the position to research, ask questions or check these folks out personally. After we agreed over the phone to do cremation the vet’s office told us it would be a week or so before we would get him back. During that time I Googled them and tried to find a website. The website on Google did not work and there were no reviews on Unilocal.I became very nervous. I did find a couple of reviews on Yahoo which gave me some comfort, but they were older. In my Google search I read these horrible experiences that other pet owners were having with other cremation services and I just worried myself in a frenzy. It was awful.
Finally the vet’s office called and said we could come pick up our precious baby. What a pleasant experience! There was a beautiful wood urn inside a velvet bag, a beautiful brass plate with «Trooper» engraved and a certificate of cremation. It was such a beautiful, dignified presentation. I could not expect more from a human cremation service.
