I have been coming to Soft Shell for a few years now. Clare does an excellent job of shaping my brows. I have received compliments on how nice they look. All of the staff is
welcoming and accommodating. Very relaxing atmosphere.

This was a pleasant experience. Everyone was very nice from the start. I arrived 30min early and was able to browse around there shop. Cute boutique feel and tons of options to select from. I got s 90 min massage and it was both relaxing and stress relieving.

I have been going to Soft Shell since I moved to Petaluma 5 years ago. I cannot even begin to express my joy of being Corey’s client. I have been getting Brazilian waxes by Corey forever it seems and I never want to go to anyone else! Even when she went on maternity leave I just found other options until she came back! She is not only very skilled but an absolutely amazing human being. She has made me feel comfortable from the beginning and is very quick but gentle. I feel that we have became friends and it makes a difficult wax that much more enjoyable ;) Thank you, thank you, thank you Corey!

Just got to town after a long (6 hour +) drive and Michelle was kind enough to fit me in right away. I know this was a HUGE favor as she gave me a massage herself. Great massage. Do good in fact i am returning in three days to have Chandell give me on before heading south again. Boy what a lucky find.

Every experience I have had was great! The quality of the services is very pleasing, and I absolutely love it. I have also bought their soft shell products, which are amazingly refreshing and so wholesome smelling. I’m a huge fan of their facial lotions and masks! I will be returning for a brazilian and a massage for my birthday :)

Cory is awesome! I’ve been seeing hercfor a few years now and really enjoy her (as much as you can enjoy getting a Brazilian) she makes you as comfortable as you could be given the situation.

Just had a wonderful massage from Samara here. I’ve had many decades of massages… for all different reasons. This time it was post major surgery and thus needed to have someone who could do some heavier pressure, and deeper tissue work. Samara did a neuro muscular variation that helped with my joint range of motion. A new approach for me that left a wonderful and relaxing stress reducing overall feeling.
She was sensitive to being a facilitator of a quiet session.
My experience here will make me a return customer for her services!
Ambiance of the place is quite old fashioned Victorian, soothing music and small but adequate space. They have several organic and chemical free lotions, soaps and candles as well in the front of the spa.
I come up to peteluma monthly… and very glad I found this and samara,
It was definitely great value compared to Silicon Valley and SF prices… and that is encouraging!

I have used Soft Shell in the past for waxing and was always happy with the results. I recently went back to Soft Shell for a massage (60 minute Lavender massage) and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Camille Torres did a great job, even though I wasn’t supposed to be her client (my masseuse had taken another client who had erroneously identified themselves as me). She used the perfect amount of pressure, was very considerate, and made me feel great. I would highly recommend the massage at Soft Shell.

They were quite accommodating with my schedule and were prompt on returning calls, not to mention a great massage.

So, I’m in town, visiting my sister and it’s been like 3 weeks since I’ve had a lip/​eyebrow wax and well, I’m Italian, so… EXACTLY
My sister comes here and made me an appointment. When we got there I fell in love with the place. It smelled great, looked great. we were greeted right away and they even took me early.
Corey reshaped my eyebrows just the way I wanted them. Well, I told her what I WANTED and then told her to use her judgement as far as what would look BEST on me. She did a wonderful job. She really knows her stuff. She is so sweet too!
I recommend Soft Shell and I recommend Corey!

My husband and I have been here a few times. We are people who like deep tissue and make that VERY clear when booking appointments. Our last massage was very disappointing for both of us. I had to ask the massage therapist several times for more pressure. My husband thought of stopping the massage and asking for someone else.
So, if someone from Soft Shell reads this review. Please do not book someone who asks for deep tissue with someone who doesn’t provide it.
Our previous massages have been wonderful. I am now hesitant to return and willing to try somewhere else.

This is a late review… but based on experiences since then I am leaving it anyway.
I had my first ever massage here in 2009. It was amazing. The bed was comfortable and warm, and the masseuse was incredible. I didn’t realize it at the time though. Since then I’ve gotten a few other massages and have always been disappointed. The room was cold, or the masseuse wasn’t good, or talked to me the whole time… I basically gave up on getting a massage again because it has seemed a waste of money more often than not. Now that I’m back in the bay I would definitely consider coming back to Soft Shell. I just hope it will be as good as I remember…

I moved from San Francisco to Petaluma last year and they saved my eyebrows! My salon in the City made me feel pressured to try to grow out a certain part of my brows but it never filled in and never looked good. When I came to Soft Shell they immediately fixed them and I’ve been happy ever since. I also love their higher-​end Jewelry that consists of small beautiful, stones strung on thin, delicate chains. They are super simple but gorgeous. I live in SF again now but I still come to Soft Shell to get my eyebrows done!

I’m almost afraid to leave a review here because these people seem like the kind that might harass me even further, but I really feel the need to leave my experience.
It was my first time visiting and the front desk lady had a LOT of trouble paying attention to me and finding me in the schedule book. I was supposed to be down for a facial and an upper lip wax.
Unbeknownst to me, they put me with someone brand new for the facial. She was about five minutes late, which was fine. She was nice enough but barely did anything that I couldn’t do at home. Just a simple gentle scrub and washed my face and applied a mask with products I’ve used before. She was very pushy with the products. Afterwards, she left me to get dressed and I was confused as to why I wasn’t getting a wax. I guess she couldn’t do waxing yet because she was so new, so they decided to put me down with someone else, who was busy doing another treatment on another person.
I was still okay with that, but she made it super unclear as to what to do. I had to ask where I was supposed to go, and she said I could wait for the other woman to be ready for me. I went out front and she tried to push the products on me again. When I politely declined, saying I’d come back later MAYBE, she said I had to say that she recommended the products in order to «get credit». Okay, fine. At this point I had come off my relaxing facial buzz completely.
She then made me tell her which products I MIGHT come back for. After she left, the front desk lady asked if I wanted to pay now or later. I asked when I would get my waxing, and she didn’t have an answer. At this point I was fully over it, and I guess she could see it in my face because she asked if I wanted to forego my wax. I said yes, let me just pay. As I got my credit card out to hand it to her, she took a phone call and was talking to a customer for a good five minutes while I just stood there. After the phone call, she had to direct people to another part of the store. I stood there still, awkwardly asking to add ten more dollars to my bill. When she asked how my facial was, I was so irritated at THIS point that I said it was «ok». «Just ok???» she asked and then proceeded to find out more. I shrugged and said that I just didn’t feel like my problem was taken care of, and she immediately told me the manager would call with something comped. I said absolutely not, it’s completely fine, but she made me confirm my phone number and so I did and got the hell out of there.
At around 7:30 that night someone called and said they talked to the manager and they wanted to give me a 30 minute consultation with someone or other. Well, that’s nice I suppose, but why would I want a 30 minute consultation when I was upset about my facial experience and my forgotten wax??? I was so frustrated I said no thank you and was very polite, but the woman WOULD NOT let me get off the phone!
I declined several times and she kept saying they «do it all the time» which kind of surprised me, and I eventually had to hang up on the woman, feeling flustered and harassed. So, this might be a lovely place if you can get past the scheduling issues and if they don’t give you someone brand new on your first time. I’ll have to keep looking. I will say it’s a super cute spa and they sell nice products.

As a first timer, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I recently injured my lower back muscles and I felt like I needed a deep tissue massage to release some tension. Kim did an amazing job at working on the tense areas on my back. I felt so relaxed afterwards and I could actually sit without my back hurting. The shop was cute and the employees were friendly. Needless to say, I will definitely be back!

I frequent Soft Shell to get massage with Michelle Lyn. She gives the best massage!!! Whenever I leave my spine, joints, and sore muscles feel so rejuvenated. Her skilled massage technique and philosophy are earthy, healing, real, and inspired.

My first time comming to this location was a last minute thing on my schedule to get waxing done. The only location still open and took me in! Darice is just wonderful I recommend her but as well I have not had the other ladies but I bet they are wonderful as well. I recommend this place. prices are great

Great little day spa! Tucked away on Kentucky Blvd it looks like a store because they have skin products, jewelry and other items in front but the back has (I think) six treatment rooms and they have a number of estheticians and massage therapists. Prices are market rate but nothing like you would pay in spas in Vegas or something less humble…
but Soft Shell is a nice little place staffed by nice, truly caring people so whether you are getting a facial for that nice extra glow or a massage for what ails you, you can rely on someone who is genuinely interested in you and not just your wallet.

I’d never been to this spa before, I’d always walked by it and bought things from the store but never had a chance to get anything done there. I received a gift certificate here which was a perfect excuse to check it out.
The store is cute and has a lot of nice things in it. There is makeup, skin care, hair care, «intimates», soaps, essential oils, clothing, jewelry, and candles. I’m sure there’s more that I’m forgetting. It’s also very cramped and I kept walking into things at every turn. The carpets are also kind of dirty and the shelves a pretty dusty for the amount of people who work there. The items are all crowded onto the shelves like they couldn’t decide what to order so they got it all. I feel like there are some great products that get lost in the chaos.
I got a much needed pregnancy pillow massage from Joy which was amazing! The pregnancy pillow massage had me lying on my side while she worked on my back, at the end she had me propped up so she could work on my feet and arms and neck. She was great at making sure I was comfortable and could handle being propped, she offered to modify it if I needed to be on my side the entire time. She was really attentive and focused on the places I needed worked the most. My upper back and hands were bothering me that day and after she took care of my back I slept better than I’d slept in months. I did have to keep reminding her that she could use more pressure on my back.
My only problem was that the massage room was so tiny that she kept walking into things. The girl working in the room next to me had the same problem because she kept dropping things which was not relaxing. It also was deathly hot in there and I kept sweating which wasn’t comfortable, I’m sure it’s just because I was 8.5 months pregnant at the time and hot all the time. I felt bad asking her to turn the heated bed off and run the fan but she was really understanding.
