Specialties
Helping people buy and sell country properties and homes in Sonoma and Marin Counties. Working with owners of ranches, farms, acreage, country estates and «that little home on ½ acre» to find the right buyers and helping buyers to find that «just right» end-of-the-lane place in the country. We provide a wealth of «courtesy» services such as providing property evaluations, helping deal with County and State land use issues and guidance in protecting the value and use of your country property.
History
Established in 1987.
I came to the Petaluma area in 1987 to try my hand at farming on 400 acres along Lakeville Hwy. For nearly 8 years we tried farming organic hay and grain, Jerusalem Artichokes, Amaranth, barley, wheat, Blue Gum Eucalyptus trees and even built a rice patty. Working as a family we built a full size fuel alcohol plant designed to convert carbohydrates and bio-mass into automotive fuels. Due to floods in 1983 and 1986 and California turning away from alcohol fuel in the late 1980’s we realized we weren’t rich enough to continue our farming passion. I went to get a «town job» and it turned out to be helping friends and neighbors buy and sell country properties and homes. 22 years later I still enjoy helping people get to where they want to go in real estate and treat them with the honesty and respect they deserve. In 2002 I partnered up with a friendly competitor, Scott T. Murphy as we figured we could provide better service and still have a life if we worked together to help people.

Business Owner
Born in the Midwest, moved to California at the age of 8, grew up and went to school in the L.A. area until leaving UCLA in 1967 and moving to the Bay Area. Worked in land acquisition in the early 1970’s, managed a band, moved to Mill Valley, got married and moved to Petaluma to farm. Farmed until 1987, had a son in 1987 and changed to selling farms and ranches instead of running them. Experienced a wonderful life with loving parents, in-laws, kids and friends. Parents were married 67 years until my Mom passed about 4 years ago. My Dad remarried at at 89 to the widow of his best friend from the Army Air Corp. I am currently engaged to a wonderful woman and we both have sons around 24 years of age. I believe in life and I believe in people. It’s a good life and if we work together to help each other it can be a great life.
