LOL… hardly a farmers market. Three little tents set up on a lawn with WAY overpriced items. You will be lucky to see more than a dozen people hanging out here, and most of them are the vendors. Rip off big time!

We really, truly enjoy this Farmer’s Market! It’s small in amount of vendors, but the variety is still good — Veggies, Fruits, Eggs, Meats, Herbs, Flowers, Honey, Cheeses, and CUPCAKES! It’s nice knowing that everything is Coastal/Local and not coming in from Central Valley or across the Bay– not that there is anything wrong with that, but what better than to directly support the families & farmers that live right there in Pescadero? Added bonuses: Live music, Children’s activities, Informational booths, Free Bike Repair service, Raffles, Special Celebrations, Clean bathrooms and picnic benches to sit and stay awhile. If you feel so inclined, you can order a drink or pizza from the Restaurant — top it off with a Cupcake for dessert(the cupcakes are sooo so so good and interesting flavors!) and make an entire evening out of it.

This market is one of a kind! I have never been to a hyper local farmers market before where all the products were all from that area – just when you thought a regular farmers market was local, you come to Pescadero! Fruits, veggies, cheese, eggs, grass-fed meat, honey the best darn cupcakes you’ve ever had, live music and kid activities all just two miles from the beach. My recommendation is grab some fresh goat cheese, some fresh herbs and all your groceries and head down to the beach to enjoy them. It’s worth the 40 minute drive from Belmont for the drive along highway 1 alone, then you add everything else and voila! A perfect day. Thursdays 3 – 7! I hear their last market in October is a blast with Day of the Dead celebrations too!

This is a sweet, tiny, community affair that’s pretty much as cute they come. On any given Thursday you might find music, a book swap, free bike repair, face painting, or corn hole. If you live in town, you’ll run into everyone you know. If you’re just passing though, you’ll get a great taste of this little community. Don’t expect to get everything on grocery list here, but you’ll find the best of what’s hyper local and growing right now. The quality of the vendors, all 6 or 7 of them, is top-notch– awesome goat cheese, beautiful organic produce, gorgeous flower bouquets, grass-fed beef, and all of it from pretty much right in Pescadero. Oh, and cupcakes! Did I mention the cupcakes? Cupcakes! Try the chocolate raspberry.

Have you ever gone to a farmers market and realized that some of the food comes from hundreds of miles away? Have you ever talked to a market vendor and discovered that they’ve never even been to the farm that they’re representing? This market is the answer to our jaded, greenwashed foodie culture. It’s tiny, yes, but all the basics are here. In a town without a grocery store, this little farmers market is a lifeline to residents. But more than that, it’s really, truly, shockingly local. Like 10 miles or under local. Be amazed at what food can be like when it’s grown«just up the road» and picked that day. This stuff is the real deal. The Basics: — Thursdays from 3−7pm, from May-October — One mile in from Hwy 1 — Tons of fresh produce, amazing flowers, cupcakes, cheese, eggs, and sometimes pastured meat. Pretty much all organic. — You can get a beer in the country store and sit at a picnic table and see the whole town roll through. — Live music every week! This might be heaven.
