Established in 1984.

Taylor is a second-​generation general contractor in Upstate New York with over 40 years of experience in the design and construction of office, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Having successfully completed hundreds of projects – large and small-​, Taylor has the resources to deliver enhanced execution on all phases of your project from the ground up. In 2002, Taylor expanded its services through the acquisition of Monroe Roadways (MRI), a forty-​year-​old site construction company also based in upstate New York. With the addition of this 50-​employee firm, they provide a thorough knowledge of the entire construction process and the resources to deliver enhanced execution on all phases of projects from the ground up.

In 2011 and beyond, Taylor strives to be Rochester’s leading commercial design-​build contractor.

Business Owner

Mr. Taylor co-​founded R.J. Taylor, Inc., in 1984 and served as president from 1986 until 2006. In addition to his business strengths he has extensive experience in project programming, budget forecasting and value engineering services.

Mr. Taylor is responsible for the oversight of company marketing and administrative operations, including finance, legal, insurance and new market development. In addition, he has a strong background in private development, working as project liaison between the owner, municipalities and lending institutions on many projects.

He has participated with numerous building opportunities across the country and maintains professional business licenses in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia and the Carolinas.
