A couple of years ago I decided to outsource my skincare to Raissa, and this was one of the best decisions I ever made as my face has never looked or felt better. Raissa is so thoughtful and meticulous about taking care of my skin. I echo the many other reviews in stating that Raissa is the gold standard by which I measure all other facials, although at this point, I refuse to have anyone other than Raissa work on my face. Besides being a master at her craft, Raissa is honest, kind and caring, and has a wonderful sense of humor. Raissa’s service is worth every penny.

I have been going to Raissa on a monthly basis since February, and I have to say that she is great! I had pretty much given up on the whole idea of facials before seeing Raissa. I would go to these spas, get slathered in goop, and leave feeling sticky, with no lasting results. Luckily, I decided to try one more time… not in some fancy spa. Raissa uses simple but effective techniques, and she is always responsive to any skin concerns I have. She won’t try to sell you products, but is happy to recommend things if you ask. Well worth the wait to get on her client list!

I feel bad for never being able to update my review. I ended up transferring to UCSD after my first session with Raissa so I wasn’t able to go back to her for a while.
Once I graduated and had more time I immediately scheduled a Diamond Dermafile with Raissa. I admit that I had other facials done in between the time that I was not able to go to her and every time I was disappointed. In the back of my mind, I always compared everyone to Raissa. She is just that good! She’s still very friendly and it was like catching up with an old friend that you haven’t seen in awhile.
I would still recommend Raissa for all your skin needs.

I just had an hour long phone conversation with a good friend who did her very first facial at another location. She asked me, «the lady recommended this detox facial and this this this to me? What do you think? Have you heard of them?»
I told her that doing facials is like getting a massage. You pretty much have to try in order to see if it suits you. Well, except for facials, there is a percentage of risk involved. Yes, there are much cheaper facials that are closer to my house. But personally, I still think higher pricing is still usually a better guarantee for good service. I’ve had bad experiences with places where they didn’t accommodate their practices for my sensitive skin. As a person who gets paranoid easily, I need someone who knows what they’re doing and be upfront about their stuff.
This is what I told my friend, «I love Raissa because she’s super straightforward about her work. She never sells me any products unless I ask. She will let me sample some stuff if she has it. I can text her about any skin-​related problems and she’ll get back to me. She tries her best to fit me in even on days when I thought I couldn’t just because she’s super busy. She’s like a friend. A good friend who doesn’t do b.s.»
As a teacher, I still have to book my appointments only on Fridays because it takes my face at least 3 days to heal and for me to go out. Does it stop me from coming? :) YES, as new clients, the wait may be crazy. But trust me, once you’re in, you’re in for life, my friend.

7 −21−15 Waited for over 7 months to book an appointment and still waiting. Don’t know what to say, just speechless.
7−22−15 Indeed it has taken beyond 7 months. I applied to be on the wait list during October 2014. Seeing now that it is July 22, 2015. It has hit the 10^th month mark and quite possibly it will well go over a year. Based on your comments, new clients are suppose to chase after your assistant and check in on their wait list number. However, it would make more sense if your assistant sent out an email every 1 – 3 months to say, «Hi here’s where you are…» and it is more reasonable if the wait time is 6 months maximum. Secondly, you should not include the wait list in your mass emails because when we see your holiday packages and specials, we are assuming we have an opportunity to purchase them. Thinking all of this over, I realized Unilocal is not useful for businesses that are already strong such as yours. Unilocal is more useful for those who are just starting out. Here’s what I’ve decided: You get 1 star for writing back, 1 star for explaining things to me, and 1 star for standing by your values. You lost 1 star for expecting new clientele to be able to wait up to 1.5 years. And you lost 1 star for implying that those who reach out to your assistant to find out where they are on the wait list are patient whereas those who complain such as myself are impatient. Here is a business suggestion: hire someone that you believe has strong capabilities such as yourself, train her well, monitor her, and help her grow. Open up and share your skills.

I’m still a loyal client after 4 years and many facials. I can confidently say at this point that Raissa is WORTH IT.
Love the quality of her work, her work ethic, her willingness to be there and answer questions, her business honesty, professionalism, her kindness… Raissa truly values her clients and her work, and it shows. That may mean that it’s difficult to get an appointment as a new client because she wants to make sure she has enough time for her existing clients, but it’s worth waiting for if you have the time.
P. S. It’s also worth splurging on the Diamond Dermafile once in awhile.

I have been a client of Raissa’s for over a year, and she never fails to make me anything less than happy! Along with stellar work, she is so knowledgable about everything skin related, and will actually take the time to explain the processes, while making it easy to understand if you don’t have a science background. She’s my go-​to girl for chemical peels, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else or recommend anyone to go anywhere else. Overall, flawless work :)

Wow I can’t believe it’s been 3 years and a new infant here. I still go to Raissa and still worth giving the 5 s. Nothing much to add to my review in 2011 but if you haven’t gotten on her list of clients, I feel sorry for you. She gets seriously booked with her seriously loyal patrons. Can I be more redundant? Once you’re in, yey to you!!!
One thing I do on my appointments with her is I let her decide what kind of treatment is needed. 3 happy and content years of clear skin!

Raissa is the best in the business! I appreciate her professionalism, thoroughness and true intent to deliver the best service possible and alleviate your skin care concerns. I have been dealing with adult acne (welcome to the 30s) and with Raissa’s advice and monthly facials, I have witnessed such a notable improvement. Not only is Raissa very caring, but she runs an efficient business! Her website and communications are always up to date and she is always quick to respond to your requests. Raissa is amazing! I started seeing her 2 years ago and I have no plans to break up with her anytime soon. I randomly found her on Unilocal and noticed that she works out of Cote d’Azur which is a spa located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Pasadena (the convenient parking is definitely a plus). I only see Raissa once every 2 to 3 months because I generally don’t have any problems with my skin unless I’m extremely stressed out. My skin always looks great a few days after my facial, the extractions heal and my face looks renewed and fresh.
I usually get the «All Business» which is a basic facial with thorough extractions. I’ve also tried her peels and liked the result. My skin is never irritated from the products that she uses but I would see a difference in texture and clarity. She just knows what’s right for her clients. She even takes the time out of her super busy schedule to see me if I need a spot treatment, and then she follows up with me via text a few days later on the condition of my skin. Love her!

Yes yes yes. My skin is problematic in every way possible, and I thought I could never be happy. Then I followed the Unilocal reviews to this place. You will never ever need anyone or anything to touch your face ever again. I honestly consider moving back home from new york city just because I miss the care, attention and results I got from this place. Coast to coast, there is no place like WORK. You need to understand why people call Raissa the acne whisperer.

Raissa is the best! I was on the waiting list for over 3 months and it was SO worth the wait. I tried for a year to clear up a sudden onset of adult acne and nothing worked, not even retin-​A, until I went to Raissa. She treats you like a friend and has on multiple occasions gone out of her way to fit me into her schedule. She truly cares about each of her clients and really wants the best for your skin. I recommend the All Business and the Work A-​Lift. I have sensitive skin and my skin is never inflamed the second day, even though she gets every blackhead.

Raissa is a «Skin Whisperer». I have sensitive skin and I notice other Estheticians have the same approach to all skin types: cleanse skin, steam it, exfoliate it, extract the gunk out, then pat some cream and voila! you’re done, next customer please.
When Estheticians work on my face, I worry because not only do I get puffy and red… my skin stays red for days (longest: 1 week). Raissa took what I said about my skin to heart and used products that were mild and calming. When it came time for the extraction, she was honest, if she wasn’t going to extract something from a pore, then she would tell me and explain the reasons why (she got everything though!!) I got the «All Business» and I am really impressed by how familiar she was with all skin types. When I got to the car, I flipped down the mirror and was amazed that she removed every nasty, oily, dirty black head! So happy! Side note: her profile picture doesn’t really do her justice, she is really youthful and pretty in person. I was surprised how much younger she looked compared to the photo and she is funny, too. I will definitely be returning!

Raissa is amazing! She took care of me starting six months before a wedding. I started going regularly and she helped with a stubborn skin problem that even my dermatologist had given up trying to solve. My skin looked great for the wedding!!!
As for her customer service, you can tell Raissa really cares about her clients and goes out of her way to make sure you’re happy with your results. I also respect that she only takes new clients when she is sure she can give them the level of care and attention that they deserve. If it was in my budget, I’d go as often as I was before the wedding because my skin has never looked better!

Raissa is the best!!! Speaking as someone who was suffering from adult acne I think I can speak for all of us that we’re not only looking for someone who treats acne, but also someone who tells us how to take better care of our skin. Raissa is always so attentive, she talks with you and get to know your routine, she relates to you and points out what you’ve been doing wrong, she gets her work done and tells you what to do between two appointments; and every time you go back she will let you know how your skin has improved/​worsened — in all, she makes you feel like you’re her only client. But actually she’s super busy, always fully book for like 2 months into the future — so I suggest booking recurring appointments to get ahead.
Raissa says she always teaches everyone to take care of their own skin at home, and she’s never afraid of losing that client because she has the confidence that good words will spread, that one satisfied client will help her attract many more new clients — and guess what, she’s absolutely right! I haven’t visited her for a while since I moved too far away, but if you’re in the area and if you’re currently not getting what you’ve paid for, just go to Raissa!

I love everything about Raissa and WORK Face and Body Solutions. Her simple, straight-​forward approach to skincare is extremely effective (my skin has never looked better!). She is organized and has a booking process that is easy to navigate. And she is a caring, wonderful person.

For my upcoming wedding, I decided to start getting facials. My friend told me about Raissa and her stellar Unilocal review and I decided to just go there. This was about 8 months ago. I’ve been going monthly and my skin has dramatically improved. I used to break out about once a month leaving bad acne scars. Now my skin is nice and clear, with one or two small pimples vs the 5 or 6 larges clusters I used to get.
I remember the first month I went, I broke out after the session. However, that was a one time thing and now after my sessions, the pimples stay down. So if its your first time and you break out a little, just stick to it. I’m so glad I did.
I love the results so much that I’m going to keep going after the wedding is over.

I wound up getting the dreaded Adult Acne fairy visiting me lately, which blows as I’m in my 30s now.
Raissa is the most amazing aestetician. She has a zillion good Unilocal reviews for a reason. First off, even though appointments are hard to get real quick and you pay a little more for the service, it’s completely worth it. She is not trying to make a quick buck. She totally relies on repeat clients and frankly is a busy girl.
I love that she too had poor skin once and totally gets it that I feel like poo b/​c of my acne sometimes. She completely empathizes with you. Also, she doesn’t push products on you at ALL.
If you get the All Business facial with peel it does tend to get sorta scary (scabs at the epicenters of breakouts) but you’ll turn out lovely if you just wait.
My advice is to book at least a month in advance. But you can always email Raissa directly and ask for an email if something opens up.
She’s amazing. you won’t regret it!

But in all honesty… Raissa KNOWS her stuff.
I signed up for a Diamond Dermafile to smooth out the layers on my skin. I’ve never done a diamond dermafie. So she started betaking my make up off me. She was gentle bc I have issues with people pulling on my skin. So she was gentle.
Then she started doing the extractions of the white and blackheads and they hurt like a mofo but you gotta take off the oil cloggers. It was great! Then she did the diamond dermafile and put warm cloths on me. Then she put lotion on my face.
My skin felt so smooth… Inflamed from the extractions but still… Smooth.
The great thing about Raissa is she’ll give her new patients a free follow up to understand your skin. My skin actually reacted badly to the diamond dermafile and created dry patches on my chin and red dots from the extractions. So I went to see Raissa and she did a soothing mask to calm my skin and moisturize it. My skin felt SO much better. It’s a lot smoother than before and the dry patches are gone.
Raissa herself has amazing skin, so you know you’d take her advice. I asked her a lot of questions about products and facial issues. She was so helpful and didn’t force any products on me. So that’s awesome.
I’m def going to see her again!

So I won a free treatment and received a facial from Raissa. I got to say I was a bit skeptical. I have only had one facial in my life and it was HORRIBLE to say the least, so I wasn’t too thrilled about this but it was free so I figured I would give it a shot.
Raissa was amazing! I let her know my my qualms about getting a facial and she totally understood and took great care of me. She explained step by step what product she was using and what she was doing to help ease any of my nerves about it.
It was such a relaxing facial!
She did some extractions (which from my memory were beyond painful) and they didnt even hurt. Some obvious slight pressure but that was it. I left there glowing and felt amazing. My skin felt and looked so smooth and soft for days after.
I would recommend her a million times over! She completely changed my mind on facials!
