Chuan Spa

I visited the Spa for my birthday in May. All was amazing –lunch, facial and massage. We were not offered Champagne though, which looks to read the norm. Nor did we see the Dream room. The reception is lacking, as is the spa.
While there I heard ladies talk about their Groupons, so when I went home I researched and bought two. Mani/​Pedi + Blow Dry.
The Groupon appointment was easy to make, but check in was odd, and they were rude… as if a Groupon was not acceptable. This visit I was not shown the facilities, nor dream room (does it exist?), nor offered tea, coffee, or champagne — though other ladies were offered. They knew upon booking I had gels, but they did not add it to appointment. They do not do gel manicures, but they remove them — for $ 25. My express mani/​predi was that, express… normally this will cost $ 145 at the spa without gel removal — I can’t imagine paying that for such a short treatment, it was worth maybe $ 30. My nails are already chipping, a few hours later. My nail girl was not friendly, and I noticed that the other nail ladies were. They also offered their clients drinks and conversation.
The blow dry was perfect though. She did an amazing job and made the trip worth it. What to do now with the other Groupon!

Initiated contact with the Spa Supervisor, DeAnte, and he apologized for what occurred with my mani/​pedi. He went out of his way to convince me to give their spa another chance to redeem themselves. DeAnte’s demeanor, professionalism, and accommodations are what all businesses should strive for in their employees. What a class act! I am hopeful that my next visit will be better than the first!

4.5 stars for first paid visit, I’m rounding up… pure luxury and bliss…
I was actually venturing on the first leg of a much anticipated road trip to Central CA when I made it as far as an hour away and realized my super tense muscles needed some immediate attention and decided I needed some R&R close to home instead. I literally got my car off of the freeway and made a call to Chuan Spa and booked the only massage they had available for the rest of the day. A half hour time slot for massage was all they had-​at $ 115 pre tax and tip, it was definitely not the best «bang for your buck massage package» but I was desperate, and in the end, the whole Chuan Spa experience was well worth it.
I was thrilled to return to this location after a previous Unilocal Elite Event which took place here some time back. DeAnte greeted me at the Spa front desk and actually recognized me from the YEE and welcomed me back, he is so nice! I was quickly whisked away to the women’s locker room where I was provided a personal locker with robe, towel, and spa slippers.
The first thing I did was jet straight towards the Jacuzzi to warm up my muscles before my massage. I had 15 minutes before the massage appointment and I almost fell into a relaxed coma right then and there in that hot tub surrounded by a beautiful mosaic tiled wall. While there, I downed about 3 – 4 glasses of iced cucumber/​mint spa water to try and rehydrate from a day where I should have been hydrating more. All other patrons must have been in appointments because for that brief while I had the whole Jacuzzi/​Spa area to myself and as it neared by appointment time I had to force myself out. I really, really did not want to leave, even for a massage, it was as if I had already almost accomplished my mission for being here. I ending up 5 minutes late to my appt, but no worries, I was in good hands.
Coline my therapist met me on my way to the waiting room and provided a great half hour massage which surprisingly felt much longer than a half an hour. She used quite a bit of pressure per my request, and really worked on loosening up my tight muscles. After the massage she offered me either a glass of champagne or wine. When I told her I would just start by grabbing some cold water from over by the Jacuzzi she recommended warm water first and graciously offered me a cup of room temp water with several fresh lemon wedges and mint. She then walked me back to the area where the steam room and Jacuzzi are located and said she would be right back with a hot towel for my neck. She returned one final time with more towels which she set on a table should I need them… I felt like a Queen!!! The pampering and attention were beyond words, and so gracious! Coline recommended I take a 15 minute steam in the steam room and then a 15 minute Jacuzzi. I lasted about 10 seconds in the steam room, it was so incredibly hot and steamy… it just wasn’t my thing but something I would like to work on liking in the future. I slipped back into the Jacuzzi for a few minutes when I witnessed another patron with repeated uncovered, uninhibited full blown sneezing, snorting and coughing-​no joke!, having what sounded like a terrible upper respiratory cough and cold. Great… potential cough and cold germs being spewed into the steam I was also generously inhaling, exactly what I didn’t need on my few day getaway. That pretty much snapped me out of my relaxed state, into the shower room, and out of the Spa wet hair and all-​even though they have combs, blow dryers, etc. I was done.
At the front desk, I unwrapped my head from the towel, paid my fees and gratuities, and I was on my way. With that said, I will most definitely be back to seek out some relaxation when I need to unwind again.
I can’t say enough about the beautiful and relaxing spa, its not huge but it feels luxurious and it is immaculate and clean and well appointed. The only thing I did not love, love, love were the shower gels/​shampoos, they all smelled wonderful and definitely above average but my favorite Spa amenities, when I really want to indulge, are made by Kerstin Florian… I use them at home and when at the Spa at the Montage in Laguna Beach, and other Ritz Carlton and Marriot owned Spas, they just kick the whole shower/​pampering experience into the next level of bliss.

Came here for the first time last week after purchasing a groupon for a massage and mani/​pedi. I submitted the online form to book my appointment and received a response via email. We exchanged emails for over10 days before I finally got an appointment. It took a lot of prodding to receive responses and the responses were often contradictory. I finally called one morning and spoke with Natalie. I booked my appointment and asked that the manager email me so that I could share my frustration with the poor customer service I received while booking. I never received an email.
My swedish massage was great and the room was very comfortable. The biggest issue though was the noise. You could hear people talking and employees pushing carts down the hallway in the private room. Not at all relaxing. I left the spa just as tense as when I came in. I asked an employee if there was a quiet space where I could relax. She told me that there is only the spa waiting room and locker room, both of which were exceptionally loud. So I’m very surprised to come to Unilocal and read about this «dream room» — would have been nice to know about that.
I was told that my mani/​pedi was at 3:30 so I was surprised when someone came to get me at 2:50 while I was showering… The manicure was fine. Kuntida (sp?) was so warm and welcoming. The polish doesn’t seem like great quality since it started chipping and pealing within a couple days. Definitely not worth the regular price.
When I checked out, I was given only 1 day pass even though my groupon was supposed to include 2 passes. When I requested my 2^nd pass, the employee acted as if I was being burdensome.
Overall, this spa is fine, but definitely not relaxing. It’s small and noisy with poor customer service — such a contrast to The Langham’s reputation. For the price, you could have an infinitely better experience at Pelican Hill.

The best massage ever from Collette aka Coco. She was wonderful about applying pressure and checking in with me to see if it was too hard/​too soft. I felt like putty in her hands!
The waiting room for the massage was lackluster. How about some snacks/​fruit? They did offer champagne which was a nice touch.
My Groupon came with a mani/​pedi service. What a waste of money. it was nothing special but cost 70% more than a nail salon. They need to step up this service to make it match the cost.

I just spent a day at the spa with a friend, it was my first visit to the spa but I had been to the hotel before. The grounds and building of course are just lovely and it always feels like you are stepping in to another time when you pull in the drive. The spa reception area is very nice, the desk staff was very friendly, the area smelled just like a spa should and I did browse the retail area and purchased a few items. The spa has all the things it should it is a little smaller than most for a hotel that size but I didn’t find that a problem. The sauna, steam, and jacuzzi are all clean and comfortable. The individual shower areas are fairly large with a nice bench attached to the wall, the soaps and shampoos have a great smell, there are plenty of towels and waters, teas, fruit. I had a massage with Megan and she was fantastic, the massage table very comfortable and the room dimly lite, nice music. I really had a nice day, I gave 4 stars only because the spa is small but overall a very nice place that I would be happy to go back to.

I found a groupon for Chuan Spa, bought it and booked my adventure. I booked early this morning at 8am as I wanted to get my day started right. I booked a 1hr massage with Brian and let me tell you, WOW. Brian has been offering massage for 12 yrs and it shows. He applies desired pressure and is able to modify on the fly to areas in need. Brian loves what he does and it shows. I will definitely be back and seek a repeat experience with Brian. After the massage I spent some well needed time in the trifecta!!! Or at least that is what I call it… hot tub in the middle, sauna to the right and steam room to the left. What more could you want or need? it is the perfect setup for complete relaxation. At the entrance of the steam room is a large tray with lavender infused towelettes under ice. Right!!! The showers are fantastic, and there are all the amenities you need including disposable combs, razors, deodorant, and hair gel. Get it done right and come get your spa on!!!

I’m giving the Chuan Spa 5 stars simply due to Deante’s impeccable service. He was very accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my experience at the Chuan Spa. He ensured that the Langham name and high standards were upheld. Thank you!!!

Came here on a special occasion to celebrate a birthday. I was in need of a massage and was always curious about the Chuan spa at the Langham. I stay at the Langham HK 4 times a year and the Spa is always usually fully booked, so decided to try the Pasadena one.
The front reception was friendly and inviting. The 60-​minute massage was mediocre and didn’t really leave my body feeling relaxed or in a better place. More oily and hydrated yes, but I’ve had better massages where you feel reborn and brand new. Initially the pressure was painful and too hard. I asked for change in the pressure. A happy medium was never found and the rest of the 40 min felt like like someone was just rubbing lotion on me at a pool. Midway I wanted to ask if I could switch services to a facial, but I didn’t want to be rude.
The spa facility is smaller than expected compared to the size of the Langham hotel property. The jacuzzi is small and steam room was very small, not sure if there were other communal areas. The tour was very short, and in comparison the service at the Langham Hong Kong is MUCH better. Opportunity to improve here.
Overall the experience was average, not the memory you’re looking for on special occasions or if you’re looking for a lux spa experience. I would suggest going to the Pelican Hill Spa Newport or Qua Spa in Cesars Palace (it’s 20k Sq feet) if you’re looking for a true luxury spa.

I feel sorry for leaving a bad review but I do hope you can improve if you saw this.
I made a phone call on ⁴⁄₂₆ to make appointment for ⁵⁄₆ for 12 ppl and it took me 5 6 times to get somebody answer the phone. She told me they can accommodate us that day but the person in charge of group event is on vacation and she had my name and number to call me back on ⁴⁄₂₈. Apparently they forgot to call me and I had to call in today. Turns out they are too fully booked that day and can’t accept us anymore.
I am very frustrated to hear this Bc the previous person did not inform me anything about they might be fully booked or at least do as what she said– call me back. I just can’t believe how bad the customer service is for a 4 $ spa place. I had to make last minute arrangement to my event which sucks.
Natalie answered the call today and she tried everything to make this work which I appreciate. Sorry that she has to deal with this but I do hope this place can improve
UPDATE: So, the spa manager DeAnte called me back and said he is sorry about the inconvenience and helped me make the appointment. I am really grateful that he took the time and effort to make this work and went through lots of back and forth to make this event perfect. On Friday, 12 of us went there and it was the best spa experience we ever had. We utilized the gym and attended yoga, Pilate and taiji classes which are great exercise. And then each of us got a really nice massage and we were offered champagne after. We also used the steam room and jaguzzi. DeAnte helped us take a group picture and offered free day pass to use the gym and other facilities. I just want to express how happy my group are and how greatful I am for all the work DeAnte put in. He is a fantastic manager and we will be sure to come back in the future if we can. THANK YOU!

Yesterday, I needed a Swedish massage really badly after a very rough work week! And this place was perfect for it! It was my second time at Chuan Spa and I had a really good impression of it the first time I tried it out last summer with a Travelzoo deal. Colleen is an excellent masseuse who really knows how to take out the knots in my upper back and neck regions, and I felt so much better after she massaged those areas! She was also my masseuse this time around as well. The quiet atmosphere and the ambience are very soothing and calming, and just totally made me feel at ease! It was also very nice that my 60-​minute Swedish massage came with a complimentary glass of champagne! I enjoyed some time in the sauna and the spa. Then I headed over to the Dream Room, where I got to rest and lie down on one of the comfy waterbeds, and just relax. It was absolutely heaven and one of my favorite aspects of the Chuan Spa! It was just really relieving to escape from my worries! I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 because it is on the pricier side. I am fortunate that I got to use a Groupon deal. Otherwise, this place would have been just too expensive for a relaxing massage. The jacuzzi is very tiny and seems like it can fit only about 3 or 4 people at any given time. I would have preferred a larger jacuzzi, like I have seen at some other spa places.

I am a local Pasadena resident and my husband and I love the Langham. We spent the first night of our honeymoon in one of the Club Rooms and also had our 1 year anniversary dinner at the Royce. 5 stars all the way! This past Sunday I decided to try the Chuan Spa and indulge in a one hour Swedish massage. I was greeted cordially by the Receptionist and after the paperwork was filled out, she gave me a tour of the facilities and showed me to my locker. In the locker I found my spa shoes, towels and a big fluffy robe. I changed, took a quick shower (which was very clean and fully stocked with an abundance of towels) and headed to the jacuzzi/​steam room/​sauna area. I liked that there was citrus water readily available in the area and also a bowl of fruit. I first enjoyed the steam room and then the jacuzzi. As I sat in the jacuzzi, one of the staff noticed that the tip of my ponytail was getting wet, so she asked if I’d like a shower cap which I very much appreciated. The staff was always on point to make sure I had everything I needed.
About 10 minutes before my massage, I headed to the waiting area. Passing down the hallway lit by candles, I found the waiting area which had a relaxing water wall and comfy chairs surrounded with white orchids and beautiful artwork. It was very relaxing and again, the staff passing by made sure to ask if I need any water, etc.
My massage therapist then appeared and took me to a room. She explained everything thoroughly and asked the necessary questions (i.e., was there anything in particular I wanted to focus on, etc.) She was very professional. The massage itself was good. She asked me how the pressure was and checked how I was doing a few times during the massage which was just enough to allow me to relax, but still make sure I was comfortable. The hour flew by very fast (as it usually does during a massage), and afterwards, she asked if I wanted any tea, champagne or wine. I went back to the waiting area and she brought me a cup of tea and then wished me a nice afternoon. I was slightly disappointed because I was not offered to be taken to the dream room as I had read about in some of the other reviews. I am wondering why this was not offered to me, because I would have liked to have had the full experience.
Regardless, I still rate this as 5 stars. The service at the Langham is always impeccable and I enjoyed the Chuan spa as well. I do plan on coming back to the spa to try out some of the other available services.

Meh. Had a gift card and looked forward to a relaxing sensuous afternoon in upscale spa. Very disappointed. This refurbished spa is nothing to write home about. The small whirlpool is oddly located smack dab center-​stage at the end of the corridor in the women’s locker room. SPOTLIGHT! Why not put up a lovely screen to allow some privacy? The small steam room has a very loud plumbing… just as you start to relax your ears get blown out by the sound. There are NO lounging chairs. None. Hard wooden folding chairs around whirlpool (what? to watch the people in the whirlpool?) The space where you wait for your masseuse has semi-​circular chairs with no arms facing a wall fountain… which might be soothing but for the loud motor running the fountain. That coupled with the sounds of vacuuming and staff talking loudly from the service area did not make for quiet contemplation. The locker room is (overly) bright and the amenities are sparse; the only hairbrush I saw had someone’s hair in it. There was fruit infused water and fresh fruit available. My deep tissue massage was OK; good attention to my back and shoulders but I think she pooped out after that as the rest of me (arms, legs, feet, hands, scalp) just got a regular massage. Check out the prices: very expensive. I think I’ll go back to Burke Williams. I can hang there for hours and enjoy a little nap in their Quiet Room. *Wait! I just read the review by Dorothy K. and she mentions a «Dream Room» where she got to go to relax after her massage… Not offered to me!!!

I went here last week for a facial and was really looking forward to it. I have to say that this is the absolute worst facial I have ever received. I am a huge fan of the Langham… my husband and I even stayed here on our wedding night… so needless to say I was super shocked that the spa was not up to par. Here is my horrible experience: the lady did not ask me any questions about my skin or my skincare routine, did not tell me what products she used, wore gloves (products smelled because of the rubber gloves), she put oil in my hair and seriously was too rough –almost like she was using oil for a back massage on my face-​it was too rough on my face and neck like she was giving a back massage on my face to were I kept opening my eyes… extremely not relaxing.
Let’s just say that I normally don’t complain but I did when I left because I was in shock from my experience. My skin felt worse when I left. The girl at the from did give me a small discount, but I still paid $ 130…which I feel I should not have had to pay at all.
Bottom line– if you want a nice spa experience, I recommend Pelican in Newport or Terranea in South Bay… heck Burke Williams does an amazing job. Don’t go here…

This is a lovely spa but watch out for the bait and switch. When I called to make my appointment, I asked for the half hour rejuvanation facial. Apparently, that facial is no longer available, even though it is on their website, so the gal on the phone booked me a laser treatment that was significantly more expensive. When I was brought back into the treatment room, I was surprised but assumed that I had read the description incorrectly. I never would have signed up for laser treatment.
When I raised this with the receptionist, she said that she would have the manager call me (no call has been received) and gave me free passes to the spa. Beware when you book… I will stick to Burke Williams.

I visited the Chuan Spa for the first time with my sister. I booked an appointment here to treat and pamper myself to a massage the day before my wedding. This visit was also my first ever massage.
We arrived a bit late for our appointment but the staff cut to the chase and let us skip the paperwork so we could get changed and not waste any more time in our massage. My sis and I did the couples Chuan Harmony massage. My masseuse was gentile but firm enough to smooth out my knots. Somewhere in the middle of my massage, I must’ve drifted off into a light nap because I woke up right when it was over. It was so relaxing! Even though we were a little late, the masseuse still gave us close to an hours worth of a massage, which was nice.
After the massage, they took us to the Dream Room to relax and offered us complimentary champagne. There were water beds in the Dream Room for us to lay on. Although the water beds were a bit strange, the music playing in the room was very calming and we appreciated the gesture.
My only issue was that I didn’t really like any of the scents. The oils/​lotions used were very «spicy» scents. I’m not sure if this is their standard aromatherapy scents or if it was seasonally based because it’s Fall. Either way, I prefer lighter, airier, floral scents like lavender or fruity smells.
The staff was friendly, polite, professional, and well-​dressed. My sister and I split the bill and they made the transaction simple and painless.
Overall, not bad for my first time. My skin felt soothed and smooth afterwards and I left the spa feeling very relaxed. My massage was enjoyable but I’d probably want to try out a different massage on my next visit.

My friend brought me here for my birthday and I would say that it was such a fine day of relaxation and pampering. I’ve been to other luxury spas, but I liked how the staff here seem to be more genuinely friendly and caring. They pay attention to their guests. I particularly liked Megan who gave me a Swedish massage — mind you, I snored during the treatment! She was very pleasant. The facial treatment was ok, given by another lady. I would have appreciated her describing to me what she was doing on my face, but that’s fine. Made me worry a bit when she sneezed though and started having sniffles. I hope she doesn’t get sick (nor myself).
I like how the spa is not so crowded, or maybe because we went on a weekday. The amenities are fine… Tiny space, but manageable. Maybe they could improve the vanity area — first thing I noticed was there wasn’t a single hair flat/​curling iron — most luxury spas would have this. I didn’t notice cotton buds either, but maybe I just missed it. For such a pricey service, they should even be able to offer disposable undergarments for those who would need it.
I would say this is the best spa I’ve been to in the area (SGV), but the price is very steep. Worthy of a visit on special occasions maybe, but not for a monthly treatment, unless of course money is not an issue for you.

Swanky!!! Visited recently for my husband and I’s 1 year wedding anniversary. I am always a fan of Asian style spa’s. It was a relaxing environment and I felt it was worth every penny. The male manager (can’t remember his name right now) was very professional and made our experience restful and our transaction easy.
We will be back sooner rather than later (hopefully)hint hint to hubby.

After chatting with DeAnte I wanted to update my review. As mentioned in my initial review he is great, he is very invested in his job and wants everyone who visits the spa to have a wonderful experience. He was very concerned that my initial experience wasn’t that way and offered me another chance to try the nail services on them as well as took care of my previous not so good one.
The spa is nice, the people are lovely and the rest of the girls in our group were blown away with their services, so I’m looking forward to hopefully having a much better nail experience this time around.

I came here to treat myself and I could literally spend hours here after my services! I got a wonderful muddy elements treatment and massage from Megan, she was awesome! Also, the manager DeAnte was great and very accommodating. Everyone was friendly that I encountered. This spa really gives world-​class customer service. And since it was my birthday they even gave me truffles!!! I love the upgrades since the remodel and the relaxation room is divine! And if you can, get the suite. It’s worth it and is spectacular! They have a dry sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The facilities are very well-​maintained and clean.

I am rating the spa and gym together because they share a building that is separate from the Langham Hotel.
I stayed at the hotel and used the gym facilities. I travel a lot (am on the road staying in hotels at least twice a month), and stay everywhere from budget hotels to the finest hotels (depending on which client is paying), so I have seen, and worked out in, countless hotel gyms.
On the positive side the gym is immaculate, the staff is wonderful, and it is always nice to have fresh water and a chilled towel waiting.
On the minus side, the gym occupies a physically small area, and is under-​served with equipment. For example, while there is a large rack of a set of weights, I am a woman and need a variety of the 10-​pound and under weights. They were practically non-​existent (there was an empty weight rack nearby), and what was there had ripped and torn rubber coating. There was a single BOSU ball, with missing rubber grommet feet on the bottom. Really? Only one BOSU ball, and a broken one at that?
The back room, for aerobics, had promise, until I noticed that the four Pilates reformer machines were chained together. Again, really? You trust me to use weight machines that can seriously injure me, but not reformer machines?
Even worse was an extremely elderly woman who parked herself under the air conditioning vents, and insisted that the A/​C be OFF during her workout, because she is cold. I turned on the air conditioning, and then she went to the thermostat and turned it off. Again, really? The room temperature reached 80 degrees (Pasadena was apparently in a terrible heat wave) and other patrons can’t comfortably work out IN A GYM because she is cold? Who is she? Ms. Langham? I asked staff about it, but apparently she is a long-​term member, as if that makes a difference.
On the plus side, my massage was absolutely perfect. The locker room was immaculate and well-​attended by perhaps the friendliest staff I have ever met. The steam room was perfectly hot and steamy. The front desk staff was also friendly and helpful.
Going back to my room at the main hotel, the Langham itself is perfection. This review is only for the spa (specifically, the gym), not the hotel.
I was a long-​term Ritz customer, in Pasadena, Hawaii, and in Laguna, and was worried the Langham couldn’t keep up. The gym is a big sore spot in an otherwise perfect experience. These things are easily fixed, and perhaps they will be by my next visit. Until then, I look forward to my next massage and steam.

I came here as a birthday gift to myself and was completely spoiled. My massage and facial was so relaxing that I actually slept and lost track of time. The staff here is amazing and so nice. I will definitely be making a trip back soon.

What happened to my critical review of this spa? I don’t see it here anymore. I thought businesses couldn’t have reviews taken down.
In a nutshell, this spa is a major disappointment. It’s not an authentic Asian experience but not sure that’s even what it was going for. There are plenty of other spas who will do a better job for far less money.
The energy is wrong here and some of the staff is very uppity to its non member guests.
I am a spa expert and this place does not meet the high standards it sets for itself which is unfortunate because parts of the facility are nice. But the overall Feng Shui is not there.
And they charge way too much for what they do. I liked this place better when it was the Ritz spa.

Taleena is the solution. Every single time. She’s amazing, always tailors each session based on what needs the most attention. I’ve been studying for the bar exam these two months and before each session she checks in on where my stress areas are, whether it’s my back, my writing hand, or my scalp. I saw her the day before my exam and she did some amazing reflexology to seal the deal. Taleena is my deep tissue goddess. Plus, she always recommends the most amazing aromatherapy techniques to destress. Love her.

Came in with the GF after she strongly hinted this would be a great place to go for her birthday. I took the hint well.
When making reservations, they were able to answer all of my questions and they actually remembered my GF when she was there for the Unilocal Elite event. I reserved a couples deep tissue massage in the VIP room (as I like to say, I don’t mess around). Lady on the phone was very helpful and even hooked me up with an extended hour in the VIP room (I asked her «So if we get a massage in the VIP room, do we have to pay for another hour just to enjoy the room?»). I don’t know if it’s because they weren’t booked or whatnot but the VIP room is rented on an hourly rate and it’s not cheap.
We arrived about 30 minutes before the appointment. The receptionist also remembered my GF and, after getting done with the initial paperwork, sent us to the locker rooms. The locker room (for men at least) had a large ground jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, showers, and full grooming amenities (shaving cream, razors, etc). They also provided thick rubber slippers and a nice comfortable robe. We arrived in the waiting area, where there was a wall waterfall, some water, and some dried fruits waiting.
Our masseuses arrived (Skye and I can’t remember the other girl’s name) took us to the VIP room, which was pretty awesome and quite cold (cold on purpose as the table is warm and the massage blankets are warm as well). We got comfy and I must say, it was a really good massage. My masseuse asked if I had problems and I told her my left side is sore (on a side note I really worked out hard this week… I figured I’m going to get my money’s worth on a massage hah) and she worked out a lot of knots and soreness I had on that side. More I think about it, one of the best massages I’ve had.
We definitely enjoyed it here, but it was very pricey for a massage. If you go here, enjoy the experience and take advantage of the spa because, well, you’re definitely paying for it.

After a relaxing Swedish massage with Lisa, she offered me tea and walked me to the Relaxation Room. Nobody ever showed me this before. I was able to further relax on the water bed. Lisa kindly gave me tips on stretching the neck. What I appreciate is before the massage, she explained how she would spend 60 minutes. After the treatment, she made some recommendations on what treatment is best for me. She seems very knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. Manager DeAnte was professional and friendly, so I did have an excellent time at Chuan Spa.

ahh… be prepared to be spoil! if you have the money, this place will made you feel like a king or queen for the day! come here early and be prepared to spend a little extra time and enjoy! no need to worry about being exposed and see everyone naked like in Korean Spa. Here, you get a nice robe! massage is always nice
but so ios the cost! so if you don’t have the money and don’t care to exposed your naked body to everyone, go to Korea town and save a $ 100 to buy yourself a nice dinner.

I enjoyed my massage, deep tissue, however it is very expensive for what it is. I was unimpressed with the size of the spa area (sauna, steam room and mini jacuzzi). The steam room could have used some eucalyptus oil. Employees were hard to find if you had a question. The staff was VERY nice and cordial. The amenities in the bathrooms were slim pickings, but over all it’s a very relaxing place if you are willing to spend the money. I cannot see myself spending more than an hour there in addition to my massage. I wish it was a bigger place.

I love coming to the Chuan spa! I love the privacy, the courteous employees, extremely clean environment and the abundance of treatment options. I am determined to try everything on the menu lol. I recently came in an had the hydra facial with Effie, I felt an immediate benefit after the treatment. My skin was soft and clean Effie did an amazing job! I was trying so hard not to fall asleep during the massage :0. She has magical hands I shall return !
Ps please bring back the lounge chairs by the jacuzzi.

I had the acne clearance facial with Diana a few weeks ago and it was amazing! I was expecting extractions of some sort but instead received a light and heat (mini laser in my book) treatment that targets pigmentation (acne scars, breakouts). Although active breakout did not disappear the healed without scaring, which is a first! I also noticed acne scars looks more minimal and the redness around breakouts to nearly go away! I was shocked with the results of the treatment which isn’t even technically a laser!
After the treatment I enjoyed having the spa all to myself! The steam room is amazing and the entire facility is beautiful and soothing.
(I only wish that there was a detangler, leave in conditioner, or de-​frizziness crème at the vanity. Those are more crucial then the hairspray, I battled my hair for 25 just to be brushed before the hair dryer tangled it again.)
Overall everything was perfect and I can’t wait to see Diana again. The spa week special was amazing and I do hope they happen once again. :)

I received a gift certificate for a massage. The spa was lovely, and the entire experience was spot on. The male supervisor (Very personable) and his staff were very friendly. Megan was fantastic.

I just had a facial with Diana and it was the best facial I have received. She was knowledgable and super friendly. The spa itself was beautiful and the staff super friendly. I highly recommend the chuan spa experience!
