Dr. Lynn is the only person who I would trust with my pets dental care. I would take my dog to Dr. Lynn for all his Veterinary needs if I could! Dr. Lynn and Beth are professional, attentive, and the sweetest people you will ever meet! I have a Jack Russell Terrier named Chip who i love with all my heart. Dr. Lynn performed oral surgery on Chip and he’s a happier and healthier dog because of it! Dr. Lynn is hands down the best in her field. If your pet needs dental care I highly recommend that you call Advanced Veterinary Dentistry and make an appointment for your pet with Dr. Lynn. You’ll be so happy you did. I found AVD via Unilocal.I am very happy and satisfied. I had been referred to a different vet dentist because my regular vet thought my dog broke his big canine tooth and it would lead to major jaw infections. I called around and decided on AVD because the customer service over the phone was excellent. (other places were cheaper but I had such a great feeling that I was willing to pay more.)
And I am happy I did. The Dr. Lynn was excellent. The treatment was excellent. The staff was excellent.
My dog is very scared and difficult when it comes to anything medical. He is 95 lb of muscle, he pee’d on the floors and would not walk into the building. The vet tech picked him up and carried him around so he would be more comfortable.
The Dr. Lynn was spot on in the assessment. She said in a few seconds my dog did not break his tooth. It’s just how his mouth is and it wore away naturally. I really expected to be doing so much and leaving with a huge bill. But she recommended the bare minimum because that was all she thought was needed. We did an x-​ray just to be safe but that was it. I really expected to be having a cleaning, an extraction.$$$$$$$$ but I left with a $ 22 solution to help keep things clean. I really am thrilled.

Highly recommend. I had been putting off extractions and dental care on my 7 lb Yorkie for years because I am afraid of anything invasive and what could go wrong. Instead, everything went right! Perfection. State of the art imaging, I left with pain medicine that my picky eater locked off my fingers, he got an antibiotic injection so that we would not have to force meds down his sore mouth. Excellent attention to detail. Here’s the best part, after having 10 teeth pulled, my dog came home and ate and played with sweetly toys… He has not missed a beat. He’s been happy, pain free and active– barely noticing that he has –0 sticks in his mouth. I really recommend

I made an appointment for my cat and when I showed up they told me they gave me the wrong time, I was an hour late. They told me my appointment was for 3:30 PM and it was for 2:30 PM. They made me sit there for over 2 hours and finally said they could not get me in for the day. So unprofessional, making me sit there with my cat in a cage for over 2 hours when it was their mistake. I would not use this place!

You don’t know Dr Jennifer like I do, but if you did, you’d only take your pet here for dental care. Attentive. Loving. Conscientious. Animal dentistry is a very specialized field. Don’t mess around. Call these guys!

Naomi went in for a tooth extraction right after Halloween, and we are delighted to say she has recovered from her surgery with no complications and ate more turkey than our entire household combined.
She got pain medication that kept her conked out for the most part until her surgery. The itemized costs were easily understood, and Dr. Lynn called during the procedure to request permission and discuss the additional charge to remove another tooth.
The vet techs and front desk were very friendly to Naomi, who was not herself going in, though she is never mean to strangers. After the surgery, they said she was a joy to treat and funny. You get a courtesy follow up two weeks later should you choose to take advantage. We didn’t, but they called to follow up and remind us before the offer expired.
This is a great practice, and I’m happy my 15 year old cat is feeling well. These FORL (feline odontoclastic resorption lesion) appear out of nowhere and are painful for the cat, and all you can do is extract the teeth. That is a tricky procedure, so you want a veterinary dentist as experienced as Dr. Lynn, who has practiced for 20 years.

What an amazing place with an amazing staff. I took my 9.75 y/​o Shepherd Mix here with a broken tooth and a chipped tooth. I was so impressed by how thorough and kind Dr. Lynn, Katie and Beth are from the first moment of the consultation to the follow-​up appointment. State of the art equipment and procedures ensured that we had an easy recovery from the anesthesia and the root canal. I was amazed at the level of expertise, care and kindness. I wouldn’t tale my dog anywhere else for dental needs. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

I am a regular patron of Banfield, and my dog had recently gotten a deep clean on his teeth. They discovered two teeth that really needed pulled and he had pretty severe gum recession and root exposure. Banfield had taken photos of the teeth and emailed them to me so that I could see the problem up close, and recommended that I see a canine dental specialist. I was so worried and stressed out! Banfield referred me to a VCA specialist but I looked them up online and their reviews were downright awful. (I should note that I have not been pleased with Banfield for quite some time due to what I see as constant up-​selling and overcharging, and I plan on leaving them). So anyway, I came here to Unilocal and found the reviews of Dr. Lynne and called to discuss making a consultation appointment. The man that called me back was so friendly and put me at ease right away. He took the time to discuss my concerns and I asked if I could email the photos I had to them to make sure it was something they could handle. He said sure, and I was shocked to see that Dr. Lynne had responded almost within the hour after receiving and viewing the photos. She said of course she would still need to have a look at his mouth in-​person, but she was confident that they could handle the situation, and we corresponded a few times that day over email. I was already so much less stressed!
The consultation with Dr. Lynne was so great; she really took a lot of time with me, (they allot an hour for each appointment so that she can get time to know the dog and go over everything in-​detail with you). My dog really enjoyed the visit and never shook once! (Usually vets have that cold metal table they place your dog on to examine them, at Dr. Lynne’s office they have a table but with a little square of carpeting so that the dog is comfortable. Usually my dog hates the vet and shakes the whole time but he was so at-​ease). She examined my dog’s mouth and was gentle and caring. And I was actually quite pleased with the quote they provided me, and I am absolutely positive that it would have been three times that much if I had let Banfield do the work.
So I made the appointment for the extractions and dropped him off early. The plan was for three teeth to come out but with the pre-​surgery x-​rays it turned out that my dog had pretty severe periodontal disease and some significant recession and bone loss and she called me to discuss wanting to remove a few extra teeth. Now, I knew this was likely going to happen because my little guy had already had about ten other teeth pulled over the years, (he is 7 years old), and he has always had bad breath and problems with his mouth. But Dr. Lynne was so compassionate about it, even saying that even though his teeth were in pretty bad shape it was no one’s fault, it is just that some dogs are predisposed to periodontal disease. It made me feel a little better, and at no time did I ever feel like she was pressuring me into anything or making me feel guilty, (which Banfield had done to me on two occasions with him previously). She was not rushing me or anything, and took the time to discuss everything with me and explain to me why those other teeth needed to go. I trusted her 100% and we agreed to take those other teeth.
So I picked me little guy up a few hours later and was surprised to see how happy and alert he was after having such a big day. I kind of expected just to pay and leave but was surprised again when Dr. Lynne took me and my dog back into the exam room and took another 30 minutes or so going over all the pre and post x-​rays with me, showing me the recession, which teeth were taken, and the game plan for future care. She was again just so compassionate and kind, and I couldn’t believe how much time she was spending with me, I am so used to being rushed in and out at Banfield. And my dog is doing so well now, a few days after the appointment, I am SO glad I found her!
So, as you can tell by my mile-​long review I was blown away with my experience with Dr. Lynne. I really wish I could take him back to her for everything, and it really showed me what a good vet (or vet dentist) is like. I was happy with the care my dog received, happy with the cost, and if you are reading this you are perhaps sitting there worried about finding a good place to take your pet, and I assure you, if give them a call and make an appointment you will receive excellent care!

I’ve been meaning to write this review to say thank goodness we found Dr. Lynn. First found Dr. Lynn because we wanted an experienced veterinarian checking out my Mom’s cat’s teeth. Read reviews on Dr. Lynn and so glad we came. Sophie the cat needed extensive work. Dr. Lynn really explains everything in detail. She makes us parents feel good to know she will take good care of our babies. Soon after I took my little dog Bella in. Dr. Lynn gives a very through exam and teaches you how to take care of your pets teeth in the initial visit. Beth works for Dr. Lynn and is very sweet.

Bringing in your elderly dog for a teeth cleaning can be a very dangerous and I was nervous to bring my soon to be 10 year old dog in. I looked online in my area and couldn’t really find a place that I can trust. Then I came across Advanced Veterinary Dentistry after talking to my sister, who is a vet herself in the UK. She assured me that AVD is the only place she would allow me to bring my dog in for a dental. Plus, AVD is one of the few place that has digital x-​ray imaging.
From the beginning, I was very impressed with the consultation with Dr. Lynn. She explained the whole dental process thoroughly and made me feel comfortable about the procedure. I was so impressed that I made the appointment for the actual procedure right on the spot.
About 2 weeks later, I returned to AVD and handed over Goody to them. Good, came back with 3 less teeth and a mouth-​full of porcelain white teeth. The procedure went very well and Goody was able to eat food that same night.
I ended up spending about $ 1500 which include the dental and getting 3 back teeth pulled out but I don’t regret it. I’m sure I could of gone somewhere cheaper, but you get what you pay for, right? I wanted the best and I got the best from AVD.

Dr. Lynn and her staff were absolutely amazing with my 8 year old puppy. I had not done a good or consistent job of brushing his teeth — mostly because his Bulldog jowls prevented me from knowing what I was doing before he could get annoyed with me. It turns out, he was not only in need of a desperate cleaning, but also had a cracked tooth and some loose decaying tiny teeth. I had seen a documentary about how dental diseases can lead to bacteria and such entering the blood stream, possibly resulting in heart disease or death. So I admittedly panicked at the thought of risking my dog’s health by not immediately getting his teeth taken care of.
I was very lucky his vet told me that there was a doggy dentist — I really didn’t know they existed! The options were between their office (which is excellent and would have doctor supervised anaesthesia, but use vet-​techs to do extractions), or going to Dr. Lynn, who specializes in dentistry, oral surgery and the stitch-​up. It was a fairly easy choice when I saw how great she and her staff treated him, and she was very thorough in explaining our options. Plus, I vividly can recal a painfil extraction I once had that didnt remove the whole root — resulting in complications and more surgery.
I admit, I was terrified to the point of tears at the idea of him needing surgery and extractions, but Dr. Lynn assured me she is with the pets throughout the anaesthesia. All smushy face dogs are at risk when they go under, but after checking his bloodwork and making sure it would be safe, I felt I could trust the process. Plus, her staff also responded very knowledgeably in response to my many freaked-​out questions.
The surgery went well, and Dr. Lynn called me after he was under to let me know what all she could see and do in his mouth. At a week post-​op and many bad teeth removed, my puppy is well, like a puppy again! He’d been occasionally fussy over food the past few years, and now knowing how painful it must have been for him with the teeth issues, I get it. He’s loving food and life again! Plus, with all of the detailed photos and records that came with his files, I now actually know how many teeth he has and where they’re all hiding behind his cheeks. I’m so happy for him, and I feel just absolutely relieved that he saw an expert who took such good care of him!
I highly recommend. Also, I will be following her advice that even swiping some enymatic toothpaste over his teeth will help to prevent debris or plaque collecting when I can’t do a full-​on brushing. Now that my puppy is pain-​free, he’s letting me have more access to his mouth without any fuss.

Dr Lynn is unbelievably great. Our dog had to have some very bad teeth extracted and cleaned. After surgery, she was in wonderful shape — her teeth looked fantastic, bad breath gone and she was in good spirits and not appearing in any kind of pain when we picked her up. The staff at Advanced Veterinary is loving and caring. We had previously had the opposite experience with a different vet clinic — the difference was night and day… I would recommend Dr. Lynn and Advanced Veterinary Dentistry to any pet owner who needs a great doggie (or cat) dentist!

Firstly — this pet dentist can be tough to find and is located in the same building as the Animal Dermatology Center, in the same business district as Eye Care for Animals.
Dr Lynn and her crew blew me away with how thorough, thoughtful and compassionate they were in finding the best solution for our Peke’s rotted teeth. The medicines they’ve given us have helped immeasurably and we couldn’t be happier.
They also charged us reasonably and sent us blood test results via mail for no extra cost.
If your dog or cat has teeth issues, this place struck me as incredibly capable, honest, reasonable and kind. Will return for when we enter the surgical stage…

My 12-y.o. dog was having mouth pain. Even hesitated to eat soft food. Took him to our vet, the vet did a cleaning, dog was better for a week, but then the problems came back and he dropped his own food intake by 50%. Breath became like sewage, the dog constantly smacked his mouth, and he had excess mucus in the mouth. Wouldn’t let me touch his mouth, although we have had a teeth-​brushing routine for years. I consulted a different vet dentist near me; he referred me to a vet internist; they found my dog otherwise healthy; I went back to the vet dentist, but he was booked solid for two weeks. Then I called AVD in Pasadena. AVD heard my story over the phone and got me in the next day. What a relief. The doc here took several looks at my dog’s mouth, the RVT took some photographs in there. Doc said something was not quite right about my dog’s presentation of problems: most dogs can have really bad teeth and still eat just as much as usual, yet my dog has pretty good-​lookin’ teeth (recently cleaned)… Doc decided to do a full blood panel (the vet internist in Culver City had done some partial blood work), just to see what else might be going on; while drawing the blood, she took yet another look and Beth the RVT took a few more photographs, and Bingo! They found inflammation fringing the tongue and gum areas, very suggestive of CUPS, Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis, a painful autoimmune disorder local to the mouth. Doc sent us home with clindamycin, tramadol for pain, and chlorhexadine oral rinse for dogs, and we all waited for bloodwork results. Next morning, after bloodwork showed an otherwise healthy dog, Doc called in Prednisone (steroidal anti-​inflammatory) and metranidazole (antibiotic) to my local pharmacy and we hit the CUPS hard immediately. It took only one day, i.e. one dose of Prednisone and two doses of antibiotics to see very obvious results. My dog was eating, playing till he lolled his tongue out. I could see that the lolling tongue was all pink again, with all-​pink gums too. Happy happy dog. Nice breath too!
Can you understand my relief today, at seeing such an improvement in my dog? Before I found AVD, those fancy vets that my dog had been seeing were hugely expensive and they were doing fancy imaging stuff which yielded no solutions for my dog! I am a blue-​collar guy, with negative net worth; I was really thinking «What if the costs rise into the tens of thousands? Is this going to be the end for my dog?» I mean, I was really considering that I might need to put the dog to sleep if he’s having painful problems that I don’t have the money to solve. I’m very glad that I called AVD. This dog is going to max out his breed’s life expectancy, thanks to Dr. Lynn and Beth’s observant experience.

Our cat Ernie was in desperate need of dental care. He’s a pretty skittish little cat
and was absolutely terrified of doctors. Dr. Lynn was so flexible and compassionate
to see Ernie for a consultation and work on him the same day. He came through
with flying colors and although he caught a cold from all the stress, Dr. Lynn prescribed some meds to help him recover. He is doing terrific and has fresh
breath to boot! I highly recommend Dr. Lynn, although a bit pricey is worth every penny.

Clinically speaking, Dr. Lynn is very competent. She took good care of my pup on her 2 dental procedures. As others reviews state, this place isn’t cheap, but final treatment outcome is worth it. My disappointment with this office and Dr. Lynn stems fork miscommunication on her part. I was given an estimate for the procedures, but was never explained that every follow up visit would be an additional $ 65. Not sure why a follow-​up is an additional charge, since cost of treatment is already hefty. But if you’re planning on charging this, it’s a common courtesy to include this in the estimate. When I brought up to the assistant’s attention, she just gave me a blank stare. She smiled and nodded. Literally. Did not acknowledge that this was an issue. I asked to speak to Dr. Lynn about it, but she decided to use her assistant as a messenger and didn’t come into the room to discuss is with me. Very unprofessional since I was the only client in the office. On the following appointment (another $ 65), Dr. Lynn vaguely and nervously addressed the issue– ok, she just brushed it off. Embarrassed for her, I decided not to get into an argument. She should work on her people skills. Her assistant should too. Baby talk with dogs may work for some people, but I’d much rather have you be professional and not avoid talking to your client when there is clearly an issue,
BOTTOMLINE:
Would I recommend her services? From a strictly clinical standpoint, yes.
Would I tell my friends and family to go to her? Probably not.
Would I go back to her office? Not after treatment is completed. Actually, I didn’t once my pup was done.
Is it really expensive? Not astronomical, but yes. It’s pricey. AND THEY WILL NICKEL AND DIME YOU. $ 65 for follow-​ups, which they will forget to mention on consultation/​estimate.

Four months after surgery and my cat has never been better! He did start building up a little plaque on his molars and I emailed photos to Dr. Lynn and asked if my cat needed another cleaning. She replied the same day with recommendations for home products to keep his teeth clean (she did not sell the products, just gave me recommendations). I ordered the products online and am very happy. How many vets give free advice by email?!?

Right off the bat I will say this stuff isn’t cheap, but my dogs badly needed the work and the wife and I didn’t want to bargain shop. We looked up reviews, called several places and after talking to Jessica from Dr. Lynn’s office we knew we found our doc. Both Jessica and Dr. Lynn were extremely nice, professional and patient (all doctors should be patient… ha!). You can tell they love their practice and are not just punching a clock and picking up a check.
Long story short — After utilizing their services, my dogs’ teeth are pearly white and their breath no longer rank. They know their stuff here and it shows.

First I had a consultation at a veterinarian dentist out East which made me very uncomfortable. I felt rushed and pressured, and they gave me a quote with at least 20 line items which came out to an obscene total price.
I decided to get a second opinion and came to Advanced Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Lynn was so patient and sweet and took her time explaining all of my options. My dog’s molar was chipped and since my dog is only 6, I wanted to try to save the tooth. In that case, she explained that it could be minor enough where we could just get it filled or a root canal. I liked that Dr. Lynn gave me several options (whereas the first place just presented the most expensive option. Not only that, but the first place’s most expensive option was twice the price of Dr. Lynn’s most expensive option).
My dog has finished the procedure and is recovering nicely. I’m very happy with my experience here and would highly recommend Dr. Lynn.

Thank goodness for wonderful vets like Dr. Lynn and her assistant, Stacy! Dr. Lynn is so good with humans and with my four-​legged pupster!
My rescue had some pretty foul breath. He’s approximately 2 yrs old, so it was pretty hard to believe when my groomer said it looked like he might have early signs of gum disease. (PEOPLE, DON’T FEED TABLE FOOD TO YOUR DOGS! It’s really bad for their dental hygiene!)
It got to be embarrassing when people around my pup and I were wondering who cut the cheese. No one was cutting the cheese, but his massive dragon breath was being confused as spoiling trash.
So I called the specialist, Dr. Lynn, and our visit was possibly the best vet experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Lynn and Stacy are both so warm, patient and kind. They were both so good with my pup and made him comfortable enough to get his mouth open so she could check out his teeth. They are honest and offered me an alternative (daily mouth wash to see if my pup’s condition would improve first) instead of going right to pricey dental cleaning.
I know that my pup will eventually need to has his teeth cleaned. Although Dr. Lynn’s dental cleaning prices are a bit higher, I will definitely come back to her because I trust she will do a great job. Seriously, if I could, I would give this place a sixth star!
