Hilton Parsippany

Stayed here for an event taking place at the hotel. It was super convinient, otherwise, would not recommend this place, much better choices in the area.
Pros:
Convenient for my event
Most of the staff is very nice
Indoor Pool
OK Rooms with lots of charging areas (both electrical and USB)
Cons:
Bathroom needs major overhaul (tubs, don’t drain well, bad layout, bad venting)
Everything missed the mark, but tried
— Buffet breakfast — $ 15 per person (not bad for hotel) but completely bland food with
few choices
— First day here, needed to speak with front desk on several occasions through out
the day, not once did anyone pick up the phone when I called!
— My son experienced great irritation due to pool chemicals so be careful.
— Asked the front desk on first morning if breakfast had available tables (was
thinking about going out instead). Was told «plenty of tables no worries come on
down». Came down literally 5 minutes later, no seats available at all??? Don’t lie
to me, and if you don’t know say «I am not sure»
— Was hungry at around 10pm, went to bar area and was told kitchen still open till
11pm. Ordered simple salad with grilled chicken. Waited 45 minutes, no salad?
Was told that there was only one guy in the kitchen. I get it, but this hotel knew that
there will be an even with lots of people here and they were completely
unprepared. Cancelled my salad, got a stale croissant sandwich at the front desk
«store» instead for $ 9!
— They have a coffee shop with a Starbucks logo, but they only serve Breakfast Blend
and overpriced at that.
— They have wifi, good for emails and slower items. If you need streaming, buy the upgrade.
Non of the items above a big deal in an of themselves, but put together, I would have much preferred the event was at the Hyatt instead.
When I brought this up to the manager, especially my concern that no one was answering the phones, I got a smile and sorry we will try to address the issues. Not an offer to comped the awful breakfast, a drink, nothing to try and make up for a not so great experience. I was not digging for anything, but it would have been a nice gesture. In other words, F –off, we don’t really give a crap about you. This type of perspective is evident throughout the hotel based on the above items, and others.
My advice, is unless you need to be at this hotel, or you get a super deal $ 100 or less, stay away. Don’t expect much from this place and you should be fine. There are much better places nearby

If you’re thinking of booking this hotel, think twice. They’re doing renovations and the noise is terrible! We are two floors away and it sounds like they are working right below our room. We weren’t notified nor offered a reduced rate for the inconvenience. Not a place to relax at all. Very disappointed in Hilton.

Recently stayed for 18 nights and had a litany of problems. After a few nights in the room, a huge hole opened up in the bathroom with water dripping down. I reported it to the front desk in the morning. When I returned that afternoon, a mechanic was in the room and said that I’d be changing rooms. When I called the front desk, they had no idea about any problem or change, and were somewhat annoyed that I was requesting a change. They even asked me who told me I needed to change.
I ordered room service once. They forced me to pay for it at the front desk… the server would not accept payment. Very non-​standard for room service. Also, when the room service came, it didn’t arrive on a tray with plates and silverware. It came in a plastic to go box inside a paper bag with picnic knives and forks. Pitiful
Watch your bar bills from the hotel bar. I dined there 3 times, and 2 of the checks had an additional dollar of tip added on after I signed (caught on my credit card statement). Also, expect terrible service at the bar. I waited an hour for a hamburger to come out, and I was never offered a refill on my beverage until after I paid my check.
The service level here is just not what would be expected at a Hilton property. The front desk had promised us van transportation to the training center we were working in, only 3 miles away. Every time we needed a van we scheduled it ahead of time. Every time we showed up at our scheduled time they had no idea we were coming.
There is an executive lounge on the 6^th floor. Every time my key had to be remade (change rooms, upgraded key, and extended stay by a day) they would forget to code the lounge onto my key, prompting a visit to the front desk who seemed bothered each time I reminded them I didn’t have access.
After I checked out, there were 4 charges of what seem to be random numbers ranging from $ 30 to $ 2300 on my credit statement, all of which added up to my final bill. One of the charges was the exact amount of the room service order that I had paid for separately.
In conclusion, I highly recommend another property. The service level here is bad. The accounting is questionable. The bar staff steals from you by changing the tip given.

I’ve stayed at other hotels in the area and this was by far the cleanest nicest one I’ve ever been to. The staff was amazingly friendly and knew my name and greeted me every time I walked through the door. The manager Allyson was very welcoming, nice, consistently smiling and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Horrible… we had a block of rooms for our sons wedding and they couldn’t
get it right… rooms were not ready at check in, jackhammers doing renovations, got back from the wedding and a letter under the doors telling us the water was turned off till 4 am!!!
The front desk provided free water bottles, refunded room charges, they tried to make it right, but definitely put a crimp into what was a great celebration.

Comfortable, nice hotel, with a terrific lobby (lots of little areas to quietly in). Having a steakhouse on site made for a thankfully easy dinner/​evening after a stressful day of work.
I do second that the service in the lobby is very so-​so (my wine was forgotten about twice, and I had to bug them twice for an espresso), including them forgetting to bill me for said espresso. But, the comfort and style makes up for it.
The breakfast was terrific (TERRIFIC). Worth pre-​paying for.
The room was clean, complimentary water was appreciated, and the fitness room is adequately comprehensive (weights — which I find are rare to see in hotels, yoga mat — same for this, and the usual treadmills, rowing machine, towels).
Front-​desk service was friendly and good. (Helped us with a taxi on our way out).
I would happily stay again.

We called several times the day we checked out and the following few days since we forgot our iPhone charger in our room and no one ever followed up– apparently they keep any belongings you leave without even a courtesy call despite taking our number a dozen times. Very disappointing.

Tried on three separate occasions to connect with someone to review room options reserved as a block for an event at this location. Despite leaving two detailed voice mails, and speaking with a catering manager during the third attempt, received not one return call. If this is an indication of the overall attitude towards attracting and keeping patrons, it assures others (like us) will choose to stay elsewhere. There’s a cost comparable Marriott property nearby, with Unilocal ratings consistently better than this location. I’ll be sure to pass on our experience to the hosts who selected this property for guests of their event coming in from all parts of the U.S.

I am updating my review due to a terrible experience I had at the Apotheca restaurant in the Hilton Parsipanny hotel last night.
The service was very slow.
It took over 45 minutes for food to come.
The waiter was extremely rude.
When we asked to have our water glasses refilled, he took them and refilled them but then couldn’t remember which glass belonged to which person. Rather than given us new glasses he just went back and gave us new straws.

The Ever Changing Hotel
I have been coming to the Hilton Parsippany for the last 15+ years playing in the annual chess tournament (US World Amateur [East] Team). It seems that every other year the appearance of the hotel changes. The currently layout is very nice. The little fires between 2 glass panes near the entrance. The long bar in the view of the guests as you walk in. It is very comfortable.
Rooms:
The rooms are standard. It follows the typical (king or double) layout you expect from every hotel. The room is clean and pest free. The TV’s are flat screens and the all other amenities like the coffeemaker, blow dryer and lamps are all there.
The nicest part of the room is the desk. If you are on a business trip this is the best area for you. The space is ample for your needs. The pull out table extension under the desk is also useful for whatever purposes you use it for. In my case it was to setup the chess board (s) and eat.
Parts of the restroom seem a little outdated, in particular the shower & toilet. They are a bit run down from usage over the years. The curtain has also seen better days. With the strong water pressure and the weird adjustments made by the previous users it is common for the water to blast off against the back wall past the end of the curtain. Make sure to adjust the shower head before turning it on.
My most recent experience was in a rather dusty room, but I find that to be more uncommon than the standard.
Service:
The room service is also standard. The housekeepers are quick and efficient cleaning out your room in no time at all. Need more towels? They are happy to provide it. Just make sure to put all the dirty/​used towels on the floor when you want them changed.
Overall:
The hotel is large and provides a good environment for multiple events.
I highly recommend checking what events are occurring on the dates you are planning on staying at the hotel, because they can be rather large. The chess tournament is approximately 1300+ individuals staying in the Hilton and adjacent hotels. This occurs over President’s Day weekend.
The rooms are slightly above average in comparison to similar hotels I have stayed at over the years.
The cleanliness of the rooms is above average.
The bathrooms are average. They are a little on the older side and are setup a little awkwardly, but the water pressure in the shower is amazing. It is rare for a hotel to have the water pressure turned up at that high a level. This is considering the quantity of people staying at the hotel.
Finding the hotel is a bit of a challenge if you are uncertain of the area. It is in the middle of an area surrounded by office buildings and their adjoined parking lots. Relying on your GPS is a must for first-​timers.

First time, my work place is having 2 days training over here and is not the first time they organize this type of event in this place. Which means is a nice place to held your business events.
My experience I was looking for tooth paste after 10:00PM but it was sold out, I just approach to the front desk and asked if they have in the back. There were none but the front desk guy very friendly provide me free samples which one is nice that a hotel have this kind of extra service, save my trip to go outside and look for it. Also, my cousin brought her 4 months baby and she was looking for hot water to prepare the baby’s milk and the Starbucks inside provide her hot water during our staying it was nice of the person in charge.

Great Hilton and the Ruth Chris’s on site is a great add on. Only down side is location.

This IS a Hilton hotel but not all Hilton are created equal, or in this century for that matter.
I’m just kidding. This hotel is old but it’s main lobby is highly renovated. The main floor is a ranch style so expect to see long corridors and a maze-​like layout compared to in-​city hotels. The rooms are a little worn down but it’s acceptable given I only spent 100 bucks pet night. Keep in mind that «worn» doesn’t mean dirty. The rooms appear and smell clean.
This place is in the middle of nowhere. You can’t walk to any other locations except corporate offices surrounding the area.
None of the above are complaints. I’m just painting a mental picture.
Really this place is best suited for corporate events but if you need a cheap room with a reasonable expectation of franchise amenities, you can’t go wrong.
I’d stay here again if I had a reason to be in Parsippany.

Free parking (some Hilton hotels charge 25.00 a night)
No shortage of parking spaces
Food looked and smelled good (didn’t eat at hotel)
Bar (stocked and good service)
Climate control is loud like all old hotels

I nice renovated lobby versus tired old rooms is the main contrast for this hilton. The staff is extremely nice, and the open spaces have been renovated but the rooms are dark, old, and void of modern conveniences such as electrical plugs or good tv options. The bathrooms & closets continue the theme as they are tiny and in need of renovation as well. Although the gym is better than the marriott’s across the street, it is still a bit of an afterthought.

Soon after I posted my review, the hotel Ambassador contacted me to address the issues I mentioned and expressed sincere apology.
I appreciated that the hotel took the guest’s comments seriously and try to resolve any issue in timely manner.
Knowing that hotels often just ignore negative feedbacks or make a superficial ‘we are sorry that your experience was not meeting your expectation’, this Hilton’s sincere apology and response was a pleasant surprise.
Based on this response, I feel that the hotel is trying to do their best to meet the guests’ expectations on Hilton hotel. I will give another try when I’m in town next time.
PS: Try muffin at this hotel. Any muffin (blueberry, cranberry or oat). Really good and it’s in-​house made by a lady working at the hotel. One of the best muffin I’ve ever tried.

The Lobby and Lounge area is very nice. Section with comfy chair and flat screen TV’s

The lobby looks really nice and modern. I was very happy with my room. It was quiet and clean. The bathroom was clean. Everything seem to be in working order. I like the modern lcd tv with hdmi ports. The wifi and ac was working. I like the free coffee in the room. The set up was more elaborate than other hotels. It came with liquid dairy creamer as opposed to the cheap dry no-​name coffee creamers that other cheaper hotels use. I posted some pictures.

I got a great rate [less than $ 100], but I don’t think that is typical.
This is a fine place, in many respects, but it appears that the renovation is still underway — more or less. Not distracting as a patron of the rooming, but apparent.
The room was fine, though a bit dated. I’m hopeful that it is still on the list of things to be renovated. I didn’t enjoy the poorly painted door which still stuck to the door frame a bit, and showed peeling paint on the exterior.
The lobby looked interesting. The fitness room is 24-​hour — and I like that. 5 good treadmills. I like that, too.

I have been to this Hilton in the past for conference meetings. They are under a massive renovations with signs posted everywhere.
Ruth Chris Steakhouse is right across the front desk. As you pass the front desk after check in the lobby area has funky cool designs of chairs and tables for you to unwind and relax. Nice sitting area to hangout. Notice the shelves of glass containers heading towards the elevators and on the right hand side is the bar.
Excellent service. Called for regular coffee for the coffee maker and someone came by to drop off the materials. They even called back to see if the materials arrived.
Only one drawback, there was soap from the last patron that was not thrown away and sitting in one of the shower trays.

The new lobby is really wonderful. Upscale and modern looking. I question the wisdom of the wall of bottles adjacent to the bar, but other than that it’s a beautiful place to walk into. Now all they have to do is update the hallways which are still stuck in the 70’s décor.
