Dog Wash N’ Go

Terrific service. My husband showed them a picture of the cut he wanted and they got it exactly. Our Maltese, who does not particularly enjoy grooming or other dogs, was beautifully cut, running around happily with dogs of all sizes and was in a terrific mood when he came home. Thank you for being so good to him, and thereby, to us.

I am a Park Slope labradoodle, and as all labradoodles know, the combing, the brushing. .. it’s no fun. But I had a great time at Dog Wash N’ Go. They took me in exactly on time, and were done quickly with no fuss, no troubles, just as they promised. I looked better than I had in months, and I’d go back anytime!

I have a large standard poodle, a beautiful dog but not the easiest to groom. I’ve tried a number of the local groomers, but Rodrigo and Dog Wash N’ Go make the dog beautiful — and take care of the «sanitary» grooming issues like ears, nails, etc. that keep him healthy. A doggie salon where you can tell they love the dogs.

Great place, many clean tubs for self-​wash, owner is amazing as well! We have been to many self-​wash but this is one of the best. Shampoo/​Conditioner is stocked, clean environment and right price. Will go back.

They did a wonderful job with my two little lovebugs, a female cavalier king charles spaniel and a male cavalier/​cocker mix. The girl has always been afraid of getting groomed, but the fact that Dog Wash N’ Go doesn’t keep them in crates between grooming phases (washing/​drying/​cutting) made her much less anxious, as she could be with her brother, who isn’t afraid of anything except getting his temperature taken at the vet! They both look great and get some exercise running around downstairs to boot.

Dog Wash N’ Go is, quite simply, the best place we have ever had our dog groomed. I am very particular because I have a (relatively) rare breed that has a unique haircut, but Rodrigo and his team nailed it. When my dog and I walk down the street after an appointment, people stop and tell me he should be in a commercial because he’s so attractive. Also, the pick up service saves me the time and energy of getting my dog there and back, which is totally worth the cost. Although I live in CT, I wait until I can make it to NYC for the weekend because I trust Dog Wash N’ Go so completely.

Pricey, but worth it. The actual site is so cute and clean. It’s bright! All the dogs are uncaged. The owner is super sweet. He really listened to how I wanted my dog’s hair cut. The groomer is a Brazilian woman who did a great cut on my pup. It was $ 95. I tipped 20 percent. It’s a bit of a drive for me. The owner said they do pick up and drop off for an extra $ 30, so I will probably use this service next time. It sounds worth it!

I work at a dog grooming salon in Chicago, and while on summer vacation in Brooklyn last summer my pup was getting way too fuzzy, so I decided to take her into Dog Wash N Go. She came out a completely different dog.
My dog is a mystery mix, but definitely a herding breed, with a thick undercoat. This is the kind of coat that you should never shave, because it will not grow back the same way. To avoid any misunderstanding, I went out of my way to get her previous groomer’s notes and instructions, and I spoke with the groomer at Dog Wash N Go about what I wanted beforehand, specifically going over the instructions with her.
Four hours went by, and they still were not finished with my dog. She has never taken more than an hour to get groomed before, so I was a bit worried.
When I finally got to pick her up, she was shaved completely down with no guard. The one thing that I specifically did not want to happen, happened. I was so frustrated I had no words.
In addition, they tried to charge me $ 136 dollars for the groom. I have never paid more than 75, and I even had the quotes from her last groomers attached to the instructions.
FOUR HOURS TO SHAVE MY DOG BALD, COMPLETELY IGNORING MY INSTRUCTIONS, AND YOU CHARGE ME ALMOST TWICE THE AVERAGE COST?
Not being completely unreasonable, I paid the full price, even though I was not offered an apology, nor any credit, and the groomer looked at me as if it was my fault for the miscommunication.
When I spoke to my dog’s main groomer in Chicago she was horrified at the situation. I have been working at a grooming salon for over a year now and not once have we charged anything close to that price, let alone for a customer who was unhappy.
Afterwards, a friend of mine told me that he also got his small dog groomed here once, and they nipped his ear during the process, refused to take any blame for the situation, and would not even bother to look at the vet bills, let alone reimburse them.
I cannot recommend this place.

We have used the Self-​Dog wash service twice. I think it’s a great price for $ 20. We used to go to an old Dog Wash in Manhattan but I’m so glad they opened this one in Brooklyn. Except looks like Sundays are busier than Mondays, so plan accordingly. There was only 1 person working on a Sunday and she was super busy trying to help everyone. But she was so helpful and patient with all of my questions. My dog sheds a lot, so the fact that I don’t have to dirty my bathtub at home, is perfection!

«Woohoo!» is def right! I am weird about leaving Brownie alone when other dogs are around. Well, they assured me they had it under control and boy did they! I went off, confident in their word, and had me a nice breakfast and a walk right after that. When I returned, my B-​girl was all cleaned up, smelling good, rid of all her excess shedding hair, and happy than, well, a dog that was just groomed by great people! To top it off, the price came out even cheaper than they quoted me on the phone. Count me back again!

Just picked up my schnauzer puppy from a grooming by Rodrigo. I did not even recognize him! As an owner of a miniature schnauzer, I was really nervous choosing a groomer, as I have seen so many hack jobs. Rodrigo did an incredible job, my puppy looks like a show dog! His coat is super soft and shiny, no nicks or cuts that I can see, and he seems happy and calm :) The grooming took approximately four hours, so for that time I think Rodrigo’s rates are very fair. Will absolutely come back. Thank you!

I adopted my dog a few months ago and have had a hard time finding someone to groom her because she has anxiety issues. I took my dog here after she was rejected by two separate dog groomers because she was so nervous when getting groomed that she was getting aggressive. After dropping her off, I hung out around the corner for a good hour or so just in case I got the call that she was too difficult to groom, but that call never came.
After a few hours, I picked my dog up and she seemed calm, happy and looked fantastic. Michelle was wonderful and chatted with me for about 10 minutes after I paid to tell me how she was during the grooming. It’s clear that she has years of experience with difficult dogs and while my dog was very scared and tried to nip her, Michelle knew how to handle her. I was even shown videos of my dog being groomed so that I could see how she reacts.
I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone that has a high-​anxiety and/​or rescue dog. The store feels very calm compared to other places I tried to take her to and the entire staff was very sweet. I will definitely be going back to Michelle for as long as she’s there.

There’s plenty of reviews of the grooming at Dog Wash N’ Go, but this review is for their day care service. We started dropping our energetic 2-​year-​old mutt Hunter at Dog Wash N’ Go for day care while we’re at work four days a week and couldn’t be happier. Our former day care spot had way too many dogs and not enough staff, but this place strikes the perfect balance.
Hunter is kept busy throughout the day, playing with other dogs AND the caring staff. They even take him out on hour-​long walks so he can get outside and do his business. We were initially concerned that our larger-​sized dog wouldn’t get enough playtime in the smaller space, but Hunter has a great time there. He’s wiped out at the end of the day, and overall is less stressed, less anxious, and better behaved.
The staff not only post videos on Instagram, but also filmed longer videos of playtime and show it to us on an iPad when we pick Hunter up. We dropped him off there on a busy Saturday too and it was the exact same (awesome) experience. Our dog is so happy to see the staff every day, he jumps on them and tries to lick their faces.
All in all, this is a great place for you to drop off your dog for doggy day care. Hunter loves it!

I had the best time washing my two dogs here using their «self-​service» dog wash option. It is such a cute place and my pup looked fantastic after her blow-​out.

I am forever grateful that I found this place. To start off, my dog is a rescued Yorkie Poodle, so he is very timid, & jumpy. I took him to Petco for his first grooming session since I adopted him and they nicked him under his leg because he was ‘jumpy, way too anxious and we can’t muzzle him so we can’t continue. He was going to bite the groomer…’, Okay, so Ghibli came home with a shaved back, but puffed up everywhere else. It was hilarious; everyone thought I was playing a sadistic joke on my baby, making him look like a Clown. So, with the basis of thinking my dog is horrible to handle, I searched and found this place. Their website alone brought me comfort and ease. The owner himself is an experienced dog groomer, with a detailed background; impressive none the less. Called, and the receptionist was super nice. When we finally met, she greeted Ghibli, my dog, with love. The place is spectacular. Clean, modern, up to date, and inviting. Not even five minutes later, we meet our groomer. Her name was Michelle, and she is an ANGEL! She talked to us, walked us through what was going to happen, observed Ghibli and pet him a few times, just to get to know him first. After a few kind words, and instructions on how we would like him to look, we left Ghibli with her. It took about 5 hours so I was able to run around Brooklyn to finish my errands, but when we came back, my baby was beautiful! He was groomed exactly like we discussed, and clean. Happy. She explained to me how whoever I took them too was NOT an experienced groomer like herself (she’s been in the game for 40 years! Uh, yes!) She also explained how she took her time with my baby, got to know him, talked to him. Loved him. Michelle is a God-​send for dog owners like me who have dogs that need a little more attention than others, and she KNOWS what she is doing. The price varies depending on breed, temperament, and labor, so what I was charged was actually VERY REASONABLE. I did not complain one bit about my fee. Considering how certain procedures alone can be up to $ 50, everything that was done (a full service groom) was exactly in my price range. I even met the Owner, and he was clearly a dog lover. An amazing person.
Bottom line is: if your dog is a little hard to handle as far as grooming, and you can’t just take him anywhere, just like my situation, then this is your place. Big or small breeds, scared, difficult to handle, or normal temperaments, Dog Wash N’ Go, is top notch! Experienced groomers only reside here, and all you feel is love the minute you walk into the shop. I may have only been here once, but I am already a life long customer.

We’ve been to a variety of grooming places in Brooklyn that have a weird atmosphere and/​or rather gruff staff, and while all of them did fine on our low-​maintenance dog’s nails and paw fur, we were never thrilled with the places.
Now that we found Dog Wash N’ Go, we will not be returning to the just «ok» locations. What a difference some sunshine and smiles can make! They were extra busy the day we went in for Edison’s nail trim & file and a quick buzz clean-​up of the fur between his paw pads (he slips around on our wood floor a lot when it grows out). Instead of turning us away, they made room for us to get the job done right in the front of the store. Edison is a bit of a wimp, but the groomer was great with him and praised him for being brave, even though he wasn’t.
It was quick and painless and now our dog is happily romping around on the wood floors again! We’ll be back for sure!
Bonus: It just has a happy vibe there. Happy dogs, nice folks.

Rod’s been grooming our mini-​poodle Lucy for almost five years and always does an outstanding job. He takes extra time to consult on the cut and has even brought out grooming diagrams to make sure we’re on the same page when it comes to the style. Lucy is a ridiculously fancy poodle thanks to his skill and patience. It’s always a mystery to me how he gets her to cooperate, but she always has a good time and is excited to see him. In fact, Rod went above and beyond during a period of chronic ear infections — helping us get her use to having drops put in her ears. During that long and stressful time, she would not let us anywhere near her ears, but she would let Rod. Watching him work with her taught me a lot and made it possible for us to medicate her properly on our own. He also explained the extra steps he took to ensure water wouldn’t get in her ears when he washed/​groomed her.
There are many great things I can say about Rod and my experience as a customer of his over the years, but one highlight is his technique for brushing out Lucy’s coat. He’s explained it before, but I’d never be able to reproduce it. Lucy’s coat can go weeks and stay looking pretty much the same as when she left the salon. This is a huge benefit when it comes to the maintenance of such a high-​maintenance dog. On walks, Lucy gets compliments constantly, which is great because she loves the attention.
The new shop is inviting, bright, and comfortable. I haven’t tried out the self-​serve dog washing stations myself, but it all looks very clean, professional quality, and it’s an otherwise unavailable option in the neighborhood. There is always someone there to help explain everything and all required materials are provided.

I was dog-​sitting for my friend and she has a shih-​tzu/​poodle mix that she keeps immaculately clean and styled. This dog has a better wardrobe than me, let’s put it that way.
So one day, I had the brilliant idea to take her to the dog park where she proceeded to yap at the other dogs because she knew she was better than all of them and did her business all over the place. She got so filthy that I didn’t want her in my apartment in that condition so I decided to take her to Dog Wash ‘N Go. We walk in and the place is spotless and smell-​free. The technician was really nice and she handled the diva like an expert. I come back about 30 minutes later and Miss Thang was all clean and brushed. They even had gluten free treats and three kinds of perfume for her to choose from. Seriously, this place is heaven for your canine friends and it’s not that expensive considering it’s in Park Slope.
Quick tip: Make a reservation as they tack on an additional $ 10 for walk-​ins.
