I just came back from this place after getting the $ 24 half hour body massage, and I’m in more pain now than I was going in. 1) The place consists of a small waiting room with the massage table in a room smaller than most of the closets in Park Slope brownstones. The door comes this close to hitting the massage table, which is a basic table with a giant toilet seat cover and a very small hole cut in it. 2) The only person working there was middle-aged Asian man with a very bare understanding of English. 3) The guy only knows super deep tissue acupressure massage and he was way too extreme. I spent most of the time in pain asking him to be more gentle. At several points he put pressure right on my spine. 4) He only did my upper body, which was fine since I was no longer enjoying it. The warm-up massage felt great but once he started in I was more happy when he moved onto another part. He only used a cheap pump lotion you get can at rite-aid on 7th ave. 5) About halfway through he stopped to go talk to two people who came into the waiting room. When he came back he didn’t even close the door. I had to ask him to cause I was hearing every word they were saying and it was distracting. Not to mention all they had to do was lean over and they could see me. 6) There was no work to bring me out of it. When the timer rang he simply stopped. After I gave the guy $ 40 and asked him to keep $ 28, he kept asking for a tip. I had to explain to him that I already had. Either he still hasn’t figured out American currency or he’s pretending not to. Bottom Line: If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a pricey park slope spa, you’re better off making the trip into Chinatown. Avoid this place. I now I need a massage to get over this massage.
