They have a nice and neat place in the area. The cakes are very good, specially their Mango cake. They also sell and serve palabok noodles and arroz caldo soup. The empanada they have is best among other filipino bakeshops and bakery.

Red Ribbon hands down has the best Filipino empanadas! My husband loves it. Grew up with Red Ribbon, and I can still remember my childhood cakes, which to no surprise are still a staple at Red Ribbon. They also have my favorite pancit palabok. Goes perfect with the empanada. This place is a family favorite, and will be for years to come.

Like most Filipino families, my family has been getting cakes and pastries from Red Ribbon bakeries for as long as I can remember. The ube cake is always a hit — not too sweet and wonderfully moist and creamy. The coffee crunch cake is also delicious. I love that their cakes use a whipped cream frosting, not the overly sweet sugary frosting that most American bakeries use. Their mamon is buttery, and their ensaymadas are also really good!

I have to give this place an extra star for being interesting and very clean and good at what it does. Need a Wedding Cake? This place will make it for you. Want a really nice pastry? This place has lots of them. Need a plate of pan-fried Pancit Noodles? Well you have come to the right joint. But you will probably want to do take out because the spot with tables for eat in is small and it seems like a second though. Red Ribbon has a number of their bakery/lunch places throughout Los Angeles.

This review is for customer service. I got to the store at 8:25 pm ordering 2 palabok platters but they said they couldn’t make it since they are already closing. I checked online to see that they don’t close until 9pm. So really these people are just too lazy to make em. But hey they’ll take your order for cakes and pastries but not anything that requires them to work more! I ended up at Jolibee which were taking orders from a lot more customer during that time

I ordered Beef Empanadas for pick up at 12 pm. They told me it was gonna take 15 minutes to make, so I went there after 30 minutes and my order wasn’t even prepared yet and told me I had to wait 8 more minutes for the Empanadas to finish baking. They didn’t get my order ready until 12:45 pm for Beef Empanadas. They are not on top of their customer service. Just wow.

Ordered a mango cake for my hubby’s birthday. The cake was really moist and delicious! It wasn’t too sweet and it was perfectly done. Service was outstanding and friendly. Downside: It was so delicious, there was none left afterward! Every last piece was eaten. Overall, I really love this place. Their baked goods never fail to please! I’ll be back soon.

So I just dont get all the rave reviews on here. I tried their butter cake, mango cake, brownie, chicken empanada, etc and everything just tasted ehhh to me. Nothing was inedible but nothing was really good either. I felt like I’ve had all these same food items, but much better, at other places. Not worth it to me.

Clean nice little bakery. Workers were very nice. I got a chicken empanada, that was good. The outside was soft and a little flaky, served warm. I got a mamon butter cake? I think that’s how it’s spelled, it was OK. I got a slice of mango cake, that was good but I didn’t really taste any mango, bummer. The cake was soft, spongy and icing was not to sweet. But as I said didn’t taste much mango. The coffee crunch cake looked good but didn’t try it.

No matter how Americanized I am or my kids, we can never say no to übe cake. Love this place! Although it does get crowded, but totally worth it!!!

Get the chicken empanadas! It’s one of the things that I always get when I come here. The flaky crust and the chicken/potato/raisin combo inside is bomb. Other than their birthday cakes with Filipino flavors(mango, ube, mocha), they have yummy mamon(sponge cake). It’s light and fluffy but also on the greasy side. Previous reviewers aren’t joking about the parking lot. It’s always crowded so when you find a spot, take it! They do provide indoor seating(around 4 tables) so you can eat inside. The do have regular Filipino foods like arroz caldo, but just eat at the other restaurants nearby. This place is good if you want standard Filipino baked goods.

I’m hooked !! My faves so far are the mango and ube cake, and the butter and cheese mamon. The things I’ve tried so far have a buttery. Sponge cake-like taste. Sooooooo yummy! Oh, and the parking lot sucks !!! Red ribbon is in a hectic parking lot with a grocery store and a bunch of other shops … Last time I went, I almost got run over when I was walking back to my car, and I almost got rear ended 2 minutes later. Lol. Everyone there must of been suffering from a serious case of food coma ! -.-

Home to my favorite ube cake, EVER! Yup, I said it and nope you won’t regret it. A lot of people like their mango cake as well and admittedly the mocha crunch is pretty delicious, but seriously kids, do yourself a favor and get the ube cake. Who cares if it’s purple? It’s good, bomb diggity good. Still skeptical? Well, google it cause ain’t nobody got time to sit here and explain how incredible this cake is. I also like their mamon with butter. And their ensaymada… for breakfast with coffee!!! God, I’m so glad I don’t live near RR, I’d be 30lbs heavier and probably have a purple-stained mouth… yikes! Their carby-delights are SO good. Plus they’re light and airy, not dense and not overly sweet. RR takes CC(win!) but their parking situation can put you off as it gets crowded with neighboring business Seafood City or Valerio Bakery patrons hogging all the spots. If you’re going to pay a visit to specifically for ube cake, make sure you call ahead to reserve one. Like a couple of jackasses, my sister and I went a few days ago(from Valencia, mind you) and they were COMPLETELYSOLDOUT! Even the Glendale location was wiped clean too. I was crying inside. Sooo, if you’re in the area… and happen to buy an ube cake… and happen to live in Valencia… and happen to have an extra ube cake… you know, well… I’m here if you need help eating it!

MANGOCAKE! My go to bakery for cakes. I always call my orders in advance. Although they always have ready to take home cakes, I just want to be sure that I know what I am getting. The mango cake is light & fluffy. Not too sweet either. I can really taste the mango flavor throughout the cake. I always get yummy compliments every time I serve this at my parties. I always have to order more than enough for everyone. My guests will come back for seconds and thirds. The other ULTIMATE favorite are the Empanadas. The dough is sweeter than most that I’ve had. It’s not too crispy and definitely not deep fried. This is always a hit at my household and parties. Lastly, the Ube Macapuno Roll! YUMMMY. The down fall is that the parking lot is always busy. Red Ribbon is located in a small shopping center. However, there are more parking spaces behind the building. It’s just a hassle walking around the building. I’ve never had a problem with customer service the times that I have been to this bakery. I wished they never closed the bakery in the Topanga Mall. That was definitely convenient for me. I wished Red Ribbon Bake Shop is much closer to where I live, but then maybe not. I’d be there every day and will definitely need to WORKOFF the fat!

FOOD. Arroz caldo — Feeling a sickness coming on? Have some arroz caldo and you’ll feel better by the end of the bowl. It’s a rice porridge, comparable to congee but the rice and soup is much, much thicker. It has in-bone chicken in it, hard boiled egg and garlic. Ask for extra garlic on top if you’re a fan. Tastes best with some soy sauce and lemon juice(even better with kalamansi)! Palabok — I don’t know how to describe this dish other than its noodles with a yellow/orangey sauce with egg, garlic and green onions in it. It’s good, trust me. Again, try it with some lemon juice. BAKERY. Chicken empanadas — My absolute favorite item from here. I’ve been eating these chicken empanadas since I was a little girl and I’ve loved them ever since. They are packed with chicken and there are raisins too. The crust of the empanada is so good. The best part is the crust, but some others beg to differ. If you don’t want the crust, I will gladly take it! Mango cake — So good. Ube cake — Bomb diggity. Sansrival — MYFAVORITE! Choco mocha crunch — My family’s favorite. Braso de mercedes — TRYTHIS!!! It’s an egg white based cake with a super sweet custard. I guarantee you haven’t had a cake of this texture and flavor before. Cheese mamon — A must try if you’ve never had this before! It’s a Filipino sponge cake with some cheese on top. Sounds like a weird combo(it is) but it works. Ensimada — A must try as well. Pandesal — Not as good as other pandesals from other Filipino bakeries, but it’s pretty good here too. LOCATION. Man… the parking here is difficult. Not only are the lanes narrow and one lane only, but the parking spaces are super small! This little plaza has a ton of people here all the time, which doesn’t help with the parking situation. We were lucky to find parking almost right away, but other cars had to circle around a few times to get a spot. Getting out was difficult too because the other cars were just way too close to us, all of which were between their painted lines. CLEANLINESS. This place is small, but it was spick and span. Extremely clean, unlike some other Red Ribbon locations I’ve been to! SERVICE. Very nice workers and a ton of them too. There were like 5 workers working behind the small counter all working together to get guests in and out of the place as fast as possible. I appreciate their extra effort because the line moved very efficiently because of that.

Parking — it’s horrible. There is some parking available behind the store, but it gets packed quick. Customer service — they are very polite. Over abundantly polite. Everything is followed by, «yes ma’am» or «yes sir.» Customers — their customers can be so rude. I came in, stood in line, well behind someone ordering, and an elderly lady walks in and stands in front of me and starts ordering. This is what pisses me off. The sales people didn’t even try to tell her it wasn’t her turn. As I was leaving, I tried to be nice and open the door for someone that was coming in. Five people stampeded in, and I only got one«thank you.» What happened to manners, people? geez! Cakes — the cakes here are always consistent, light fluffy, not too sweet, and very flavorful. My top two favorites are the mango cake and the ube cake. Their round cakes start at about $ 20.

Whenever I am craving Palabok, I will search out a Red Ribbon Bake Shop location. Normally, where ever there is a Seafood City location, then there will be a Red Ribbon. Went to North Hills and was surprised to see no Red Ribbon. Found out that there was a Red Ribbon close by in Panorama City so there I went. This Red Ribbon Bake Shop was nice and cozy. I was greeted by a friendly young lady as soon as I walked in. All the cakes look so good and yummy just sitting in the display case. Of course, I came here to get palabok. So I ordered the meal deal which included palabok, a soda, and a slice of cake for $ 6.99 plus tax. She gave me a choice of 3 flavors for my slice of cake. I chose the Mango over the Ube and the Mocha Crunch. The food was delicious as always. The palabok was just as good as all the other Red Ribbon branches. I have not found a place which makes a Mango cake better than Red Ribbon. Suffice it to say, whenever I’m in the area craving palabok… I will be returning here.
