Established in 1973.

PIP Palo Alto was founded in 1973 by Larry Allen, a retired air force pilot, who packed up his family and moved from Oklahoma to California. There was lots of competition in the beginning, and PIP has stood the test of time as one of the last remaining companies offering, among many other services, offset printing in Palo Alto.

I had a similar experience to others posting reviews. I had a small, custom job, but you would not have known it was such a small job from the way they treated me. I called several printers, and they were at least as reasonably priced as the others I spoke with, but Kat offered fast and personal service. The end result was high quality, delivered on budget and early. Highly recommend.

PIP Printing is the way to go. I just had my wedding invitations printed here, and they did a spectacular job. Originally I was going to have fancy letterpress printing done, but the wedding has already exhausted my wallet. I was apprehensive about having my invites be flat printed, but PIP did not disappoint. The print job is saturated, vibrant, and neatly trimmed, and the paper quality is terrific. The only odd thing about their store is that once you enter, it isn’t clear which desk you should go to, to ask for assistance. They need something that looks more like a customer service counter, but at the moment their setup is more like individual workspaces. Another thing is that they don’t accept Discover card. However overall, top notch quality, decent prices, and reasonable turnaround time. The best printer I’ve found in the area — I’ll certainly be visiting them again.

Love this place. I was new to Pip this week and had to get something printed for work. I was fairly nervous because I was kind of new to this process and had made the flyer myself (after doing a very quick illustrator course) so wasn’t sure how it would turn out. It turned out great. The team at Pip are easy to work with, efficient and cheerful. I’d earlier in the day stopped by Kinkos, since it was close to my house and nearly immediately walked out. They didn’t seem at all interested in helping me and when I asked to see better paper options, the worker there kind of tossed me a folder of samples and then proceeded to ignore me. Pip on the other hand was patient and seemed to have far more paper options than your run of the mill print shop. Definitely trust your work to Pip!

PIP is your printer. Here’s why:
–Mike and Jennifer deliver. Deliver on quality, on a great product, and the most important of all… on time!
–The last time I was in the shop most of their staff was out with a really bad flu. They STILL delivered on time with beautiful results.
–They really do double check on choices to confirm the order.
–The quality of their work really does stand out in my opinion.
I’ve had several jobs printed here and every one of them were on time and high quality.
PIP in Palo Alto does a really great job and make me feel they are trying to grow MY business.

I had a great experience with Pip Printing. I contacted about five area print shops (selected based on good Unilocal reviews) for a quote on a printing job: a newsletter with custom remit envelopes. Pip was easily reachable (unlike several other places I tried) and got back to me very quickly with a detailed estimate. Their prices also beat everywhere else!
Kat worked with me to get the details worked out and kept me appraised of my options and their associated costs. Eric prepared proofs for me, and they accommodated my request to come in person to see hard-​copy proofs to ensure everything looked the way I wanted it to. Once everything was approved the actual printing job was completed quickly and the final product looks great. The time from start to finish — from requesting a quote to picking up the finished product — was just a week, including the Labor Day weekend. They even had someone help me carry all the boxes to my car down the street!
Overall, I would definitely use them again. They were a pleasure to work with.

I am blown away by the customer service here!
I have done two projects with these guys, and both times they were able to deliver quality products in a quick turn-​around. My latest project involved printing catalogs for my business. I had started the project with them earlier last week, showing them an example of how they should look, and they got back to me after finding some edits. It fell through the cracks on my end, and by the time I fixed the project, I needed them that day. Of course I was in a panic. I sent them the new version by 8AM this morning, and asked as politely as possible if there was any way to complete the printing by end of day. Kat, the manager, got back to me right away, and they were able to print them by 3PM today, and they look great. Obviously this isn’t the best way to go about a project, but PIP Printing rocked it.
So yeah, they are outstanding. I will definitely be taking all of my printing needs here in the future.

Came here a couple of weeks ago to take my photo for my business cards. Staff here was so nice and friendly over the phone and in person. 4 stars for service and topping it off with 1 more star for the cutest king charles spaniel terrior that kept following me around. Plus the cards were printed and delivered in a matter of couple of days as promised.

Although a printing company isn’t the sexiest business to review on Unilocal,Pip Printing definitely deserves to be recognized:
Here’s why:
— They did an excellent job for a not-​so-​typical printing request — took some basic instructions, dimensions and ran with the idea. Not the easiest thing to do!
— Before doing anything too crazy, they called to double check with me first.
— They also took care of my order within a few days, with plenty of time to spare.
— Staff is very nice
Note:
— Prices are a bit high, but that seems to be the case for most printing companies.
— Office hours are a bit odd, I think they close early on Fridays.
Overall a pretty good job! Would definitely use them again.

PIP Printing has the feel of a small Mom & Pop shop, and yet the quality of their work is unparallel. They are always reliable and work hard to make sure they provide you with exactly what you’re looking for, which means they are honest and will let you know if their pricing won’t be competitive. This is a great company, with wonderful customer service. Kat is amazing — it’s always great working with her. Call them and you won’t be disappointed.

I have been using Pip Printing in Palo Alto for years, for business and personal projects, and every time I am very pleased with the service. Most of the time I call or email ahead to determine the scope of my project (Mike and group are always helpful in explaining options), and then I either email or drop off materials in person. The jobs are always ready on time, and the quality is top-​notch. I feel as though I get good value for my money with Pip, and that Mike and the other Pip employees have deep expertise in this business.

No business has the right to discriminate, and as a local tax payer, I am embarrassed to have a local business that treats customers so badly.
While I found the print staff courteous, the general manager Jennifer Allen was rude, condescending, and offensive. She continuously made snide and rude remarks to me the 2 times that I tried to do business with PIP.
I have never felt more degraded in any situation before. Being disrespected and spoken to so badly by Jennifer Allen shook me for a good 2 days. I am not sure if she treated me this way because I was Mexican-​American or whether it was because my order was small. In any case, I would never recommend this business. I was nothing but courteous and respectful, and to be treated in this manner by Jennifer was wrong and extremely unprofessional.
Her attitude that she was the owner and could decide with whom or not to do business is something that I have never experienced. It’s plain wrong, and PIP should be embarrassed.

PIP Printing IS as good as it gets!
Jennifer, Mike and the PIP staff always give top notch customer service! They are easy to work with, their prices are fair, they deliver on time and a quality always WAY beyond expectations!
I always go to PIP because they are willing to guide and support any idea I come to them with~ they never let my daunting tasks throw them! Jennifer and Mike are willing to help work out the kinks before going to press and go out on a limb to educate without making you feel stupid like other printers. They’re willing to stretch their limits while I stretch mine!
It doesn’t get any better than PIP Printing!

As a professional designer, I rely on PIP every single week for jobs ranging from very large to quite small, and they have never let me down. They are my very first choice for almost all my print jobs.
Over the years, I’ve tried just about every printer around, and you just can’t beat PIP’s combination of quality printing, fair prices, and professional, incredible service.
I’ve taken them probably hundreds of jobs over the last two decades and not ONCE have they been late or shorted me on quantity. The quality of their work just cannot be beat.
And they really care about their work. More than once, Jennifer has called me as my job was hitting the press to check on what she thought might be a typo — now THAT is service above and beyond!
You will not be disappointed in this local, family-​owned print shop. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Just about any place can do a print job, but Jen and Mike really go out of their way to be helpful. As others have said, when you reach the end of your own expertise, they really work to keep your project and you going. Most places would not have the interest in doing that. They are exceptional.

I love taking my orders here. I have been able to just email files over to the printer and he responds right away and gets the job done on time every time. Even when I have rush orders — which most are, they always get it done.
If you can stay away from FedEx Kinko’s please do so. Local printers are the way to go!

Mike and crew did a great job with one-​off large print posters I needed. Mike was really on top of things and noticed an artifact in the Illustrator file. He called to give me the heads up before he ran the job and I was able to rework the file in Photoshop. That really saved the day.
The posters were 5 feet by 3 feet mounted on foam core and laminated. They look great. I’m so happy to find a vendor to replace Kinko. I dread Kinkos. They’re not knowledgeable and they don’t care.
Mike and his team at Pip were courteous, helpful, and complete pros.
