I don’t just «get» the Silicon Valley busy professional culture where analytical, creative, and assertive problem– solving thrive – I have lived the high tech life as an engineer, manager, and entrepreneur three times over. In 2005, I turned my love of investing and real estate from a hobby to a full-​time career and haven’t looked back since.

Since offering my first free seminar in 2005, I’ve taken the mystery out of the local and investment real estate market for hundreds of Silicon Valley residents. My wife and I moved to Silicon Valley from San Diego and were referred to Avi by our SD realtor, who told us that we have to work with Avi because he is an amazing realtor. She was right. Avi gave us solid advice to look past the bells and whistles that made some houses look initially attractive, due to their high-​end IKEA finishes, and to think bigger in terms of long term potential for upgrades we could do ourselves and potential resale value based on location related factors (e.g., schools in the area, whether the area is on the upswing, etc.). In the end, we were able to get a house that had all of the factors we desired, which is incredibly difficult in this market. He was also very helpful in helping us understand potential risks with purchasing a property given an inspector’s report.
One last thing. When the seller’s realtor met us, he went on lauding Avi’s professionalism. He said «In 20 years of my experience, I have only met only handful of realtors who were as professional and delightful to work with as much as your realtor [i.e. Avi].» Quite so, because our offer on the house was accepted despite not being the highest bidder given that we were competing with developers. Because of Avi’s repertoire with the other realtor and the advice he gave us on how to negotiate the offer, we very happily were able to get through the process with no headaches. We highly recommend Avi.

My husband and I met Avi during our long painful search for our first home ever. He was not the first agent who we worked with, but he is truly the best. Only two months passed from the day we went to his seminar to the day we signed the deal, which we did not believe would happen.
We liked how things that scared us the most were suddenly clear with Avi: how much we want to offer for a particular property, and if this or that house was a good deal. He never pushed us to bid as high as we only could; and he did not rush us to get into deal — to the contrary, he encouraged us to look at all pros and cons, would point to any things that could possibly be an issue, hustle, inconvenience or even big problem with any property that we looked at as a potential buy.
Avi takes a good care of his customers, not only helping them to get a house, but extending his care beyond: recommending contractors, reminding of getting a flood insurance, offering great moral support in times of disappointment of not getting offer accepted or during other stressful moments of home buying process.
Avi is extremely precise, meticulous and sharp when working on the offer. Even though we realized that we were not his only customers, we never suffered of lack of his attention. He would spend as much time with us as needed to go over every sentence in the offer and disclosures to make sure that we are crystal clear about everything, and there are no vague moments for us.
Overall we were very impressed with Avi, his style of work, knowledge and skill as a realtor. We are recommending Avi to our friends and colleagues who will be looking for a house in near future, and will be glad to work with him again some day.

We (My Husband and I) were recommended by our relative who had worked with Avi in buying his previous home and was all praise for him. We got really intrigued and went to one of Avi’s Home Buying Seminar in Palo Alto. We were impressed by Avi’s thorough knowledge and pragmatic approach to buying home in such a frenzied market like the Bay Area. We were convinced and hence decided to go ahead with him. Our first home experience has been extremely awesome and a breeze.
Avi kept regularly following up pre & post home purchase. We couldn’t think of a better realtor. We learnt quite a bit on things from Avi on things to look for before considering any home. On the day of the final offer I was on a business trip and out of town. Avi kept us in loop about the status while we were at work and in the evening when he had a news for us he called us and gave us a surprise that we actually got the home. Avi helped us to sell our old home and buy a new one. We picked him because of his good reviews, and we were very impressed with what a great job he did!
Avi was extremely proactive with us; he organized minor repairs, gardening, and staging on our old house (a small cost to us which more than paid for itself). Avi came by our house regularly to ensure the work was going according to plan, and stayed in regular touch with us to make sure we were in the loop. He made a point of talking to us up-​front about what the process would entail, and walked us through each step.
When we were looking to buy, we ended up looking in Fremont, outside of the area where Avi normally works. Not only did he find us a realtor who works in Fremont, but he still stayed involved with the process, checking up on what the other realtor was doing, making sure we understood what was happening, and being personally present as we looked over the documents to sign them.

We have purchased multiple homes over the years, and Avi Urban is the most professional, knowledgable, honest, accessible and thorough real estate professional we have ever dealt with.
The vice president of the mortgage department of our bank, when asked for the most professional realtor with impeccable integrity, recommended Avi Urban as the most trustworthy and astute realtor in the area.
Avi’s primary goal is to exceed his clients expectations, giving them sound objective financial advise and reducing risk by uncovering potential problems. He educates you to know exactly what you are buying. He is willing to walk away from a sale in the best interest of his clients.
Avi is brilliant, his timing is impeccable and his negotiation skills are formidable. Avi expedited all of the inspections and used that information in his negotiations. We bought the house for a couple hundred thousand below the asking price, and closed in under three weeks at an attractive interest rate. He was the only relator to ever join us during the signing of the loan papers to answer our questions.
A year later he advised our parent after their partner died, on the best ways to shelter their money from capital gains taxes if they chose to sell, and what their rental options and constraints were. He prepared a package for them to take to their trust lawyer to claim their stepped up tax basis the same day I rang him (sheltering an additional $ 250,000.00 + from taxes).

My wife and I moved to the US four years ago. We didn’t know how real estate worked here, especially in the dynamic San Francisco Bay Area, so we attended Avi’s free seminar. We were really happy with everything we learned with him! Back then, we were not sure if we wanted to rent or buy a property, and attending the seminar helped us decide. Later, we contacted him to start searching for a home (first time buyers). Avi is a great person to work with: he analyzed our situation and recommended what was best for us. He was always interested in our benefit; he’s not looking to close a deal at let you go on your own. And something I appreciated a lot: he was not pushy. He let us go at our own pace, giving us all the information and tools to take our decisions, and he was always available to answer our questions (be it a phone call, email, text message or a meeting). At the moment of buying our house, Avi did all the required negotiations to have our offer accepted and get us a good price. I have worked with Avi in the last 2 years (2013 – 2015) buying 4 investment properties in Tennessee and Georgia. Avi is a real professional that provides a full service. Here is what we love about Avi:
1. Avi is a straight talker. We can always count on him to give us his honest opinion. This is very important to us. We have always been leery of those sales type people who promise the world, but manage to say very little in content, and whatever they did say is nothing but to further their own agenda. Thankfully, Avi is nothing like that.
2. He is genuinely interested in helping his clients make the best possible purchase. He likes to say that he works for 5 star reviews, which is absolutely true. He earned it.
3. He is always available, day or night. Due to our busy schedule, we could only meet outside regular work hours. He met with us multiple times in the evenings, and even came to our place at 7:30 am once to meet with us. Talk about dedication! We also feel comfortable calling him anytime. And he responds to emails very quickly too.
4. He surrounds himself with competent people. We are very happy with the various other professionals he introduced us too.
5. He is truly dedicated to his clients, and his service does not end at the closure of the transaction. After our purchase, we had a glitch with our home insurance. We consulted Avi on this. He then promptly followed up with the insurance agent on our behalf. The issue was solved very quickly. It would have dragged out a lot longer without his help.
