Malaysian-​born Private Chef Heng Ngooi brings a personally tailored dining experience to boutique catering and private events in the desert.

Having trained at the Institute of Culinary Education and at a variety of Manhattan restaurants, Private Chef Ngooi brings to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley a mix of Eastern and Western culinary traditions to create a distinctive fusion cuisine ideal for entertaining in the comfort of your own home or other special venue. He will design a menu for your special event suited to your personal taste.

I hired Fusion Flair to cater my parents’ 50th anniversary party at a rental home in La Quinta. Tony was informative and helpful all throughout the planning process and created a menu that was exactly what we were looking for, even including a kids’ menu. Chef Heng arrived on time and he and Paul were extremely friendly and got right to work. The passed appetizers were so delicious, especially the shrimp, and plenty to go around. Chef was very patient waiting for us to be ready for dinner to be served as we were running a bit behind schedule. I don’t know how he did it, but Chef made an absolutely amazingly delicious meal that we still can’t stop talking about. The service was perfect and the food was out of this world! They truly made the evening that much more special and wonderful. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to hire Fusion Flair again. Thank you for everything!!!

Fusion Flair along with their entire staff is wonderful!!!
Although I am a bit slow, it is never too late to express how pleased and impressed I was with Tony and Heng’s quality service they provided for the birthday party reception they catered for me. Their professional service not only made the birthday recipient feel special, but the entire guest list at the party.
It was a wonderful party featuring about eight of Heng’s special hor d’oeuvres being served.

We found Fusion Flair on the Internet and I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first; however when Tony called back and we reviewed the need for our party he assured me that everything would be fine. We chose Fusion Flair, for our Mom’s birthday party/​family reunion; this last week-​end, and we are so glad we did! I read their wonderful reviews, and now can say, firsthand; we agree with them 100%!
There were a couple caterers we were looking at; but Fusion’s reviews, and the fact that Tony, got right back to us; sold us. From day one; he was so very helpful in putting together an amazing menu, and helping us with all the planning.
He was so professional and awesome to work with!
Then there is the food! Wow! Incredible, and Chef Heng, could have his own show on Food Network; he is incredible! Everyone is still raving! He is SO nice as well! Just cannot say enough great things about Tony, Chef Heng, and our wonderful server Paul! So prepared, organized and easy; this was a great choice in hiring Fusion Flair!

This past week I took my family to Palm Springs to see my wife’s relatives. We ordered a private catering service for party of 8. We searched Unilocal and picked Chef Heng because of the excellent reviews. I have to say the experience was exactly as the reviews said — excellent! The food was cooked perfectly. Everyone at the table raved about the food. Even my mother-​in-​law who is the best cook in our family admired Chef Heng’s cooking skill. Along with excellent service, if we ever come back to Palm Springs and in need of a catering service, we will definitely ask for Chef Heng.

Awesome all around. From my interaction with Tony and then to the chef and server on the day of. Everyone was so amazing and the food was delish. Didn’t have to worry about a thing. We were celebrating my Husband’s 40th Birthday at a rental house in Palm Springs and they even brought linen napkins because they know most rental houses in palm springs don’t have any. They made the night perfect with their great attitude, attention to detail and overall awesomeness.

OMG theses guys rock. Never once had to worry thru the entire planning process to the final result. Food was out of this world, our friends are still talking about the food. I was shopping around for wedding caterers and Fusion Flair’s great Unilocal rating stood out to me. After all the other caterers took a few days getting back to me via Email, Tony took the time out of his busy schedule to call me right away the next day. He wanted to make sure he understood what we were looking for, which doesn’t always come out clearly on Email exchanges. That gave me the confidence Fusion Flair treats every customer seriously and with respect. Although we ended up going with another style of cuisine from another company, I would still recommend giving these guys a call! They definitely care a lot about doing the right thing for you!

Fusion Flair catered my wedding last month and we loved them. We had called around to multiple caterers for prices and sample menus, Fusion Flair gave us some fantastic options with really reasonable prices.
We selected 8 hor d’oeuvres to be tray passed for our back yard reception. We had mushroom turnovers, tofu satay, eggplant crostini, fried wontons, dandan noodles, meatballs, shrimp, and chicken. We are vegetarian and so are several of our friends. Everyone at the party was satisfied with the food — meat-​eaters and vegetarians. Talking to friends as we see them after our honeymoon we have had many compliments on the food — people loved it!
The staff were amazing. Tony was super nice and helpful, even getting sauce off my dress when I spilled. The wait staff were all amazing.
I couldn’t be more impressed with the professionalism and the quality of food!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys! From our first meeting to the final event they were true professionals. Tony handles event planning and was right there every step of the way. I never felt that any question or request was unreasonable. He worked with me and offered great advice and was always spot on. Chef Heng — Wow what can I say — the man can cook! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We had many meals out on this trip and this was by far the best. The service staff was great with their attentive yet discreet service. One word: A-​MA-​ZING! Chef Heng prepared the most wonderful and memorable dinners for us during our recent stay in Palm Springs. It was definitely the highlight of our trip and we cannot stop raving about how beautiful and delicious everything was. It was our first time hiring a personal chef and we are so glad we did! The dining experience was one-​of-​a-​kind, perfect for our anniversary occasion. Romantic, intimate and I don’t think there is anyone of this caliber in the Palm Springs area like Chef Heng – his food is like that of dining in one of Manhattan’s top restaurants. Being from New York, we can honestly say that the presentation and taste of the food is definitely on par with high-​class dining. His style of Asian fusion is unique among those we have tasted – his Malaysian creations are especially of note – simply authentic Malaysian food. We look forward to a return trip to Palm Springs very soon! Highly recommended!
