Wow where do I start. I purchased $ 4500 worth of the Morningstar Bamboo Flooring for our first home. I was given the salesman typical speech however I also did what I thought was my homework. The product comes with a 15 year warranty that Lumber Liquidators makes it sound super easy in getting your floor repaired… TO GOOD TO BE TRUE! Worst customer service /​sales service ever and of course the issues I am having are my fault (according to LL)
So my issues with this wood are the following:
Cracking 2 different locations
Peeling of top layer
Wood is shrinking so much it’s causing the wood to come apart from the locking mechanism (many areas)
So why is this happening:
Maybe a defect in the wood? Or maybe because the sales representative failed to state that the inside temperature of my house must remain at 65 – 80 degrees all year or these issues will happen. Only problem is, it reaches 125 degrees in the summer and therefore the electric company goes into energy saving mode and turns off our AC units periodically (few times a week for a few hours) causing our house to reach high 90s in the summer. You would think the sales rep would of told me that seeing as though I purchased it from my local store. But of course he didn’t bother.
Now let’s get to the customer service part:
The warranty process has taken a month and I still have at least another month before the floor gets fixed/​if LL finds that the wood is defective. I’ve tried explaining to the customer service reps at corporate that this type of wood should not be sold in our area due to the temperature changes but LL doesn’t see any issues with that. The GM of the local lumber liquidators store however stated that I am correct but corporate wants what corporate wants. So they had me fill paper work out, send photos and answer questions over the phone… But there is more, I just had to fedex an old saved box so corporate can run test to see if it’s defective. After that process is done; one step at a time, then I get to invite an inspector to my house from LL to ensure its not an issue with my house that’s causing these problems. Lol The testing and inspector part takes about a month to complete. So in the meantime I have to constantly worry about my 1 and 3 year old daughters from getting splinters or hurt in any other way from the floor. One last thing, when I told the customer service representative about my children possible getting hurt, her solution was «I would just rip it up (wood) and throw it away and be out the $ 4500 in wood and $ 3500 in labor and other supplies. I tried coming up with better solutions but everything keeps getting shot down.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY TELL YOU LIES WITH LOTS OF HIDDEN LAWYER TALK ON A WEBSITE IN SMALL PRINT! Way to look out for your customers Lumber Liquidators.

I just wanted to thank the guys at Lumber Liquidators. It took us a few weeks to make up our minds as to what type of flooring we wanted, but these guy never made us feel pressured or rushed. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. We never felt like they were trying to up sell us. When our order came in they were more than helpful in loading my truck. Thanks guys. I’ll post pictures of the new floor once it’s installed.

I have enjoyed planning my new wood floor with the help of Andrew and Luis. They are true professionals. Not only do they know their product and how to get the best results with the right choice of wood — but they also are very courteous — real gentleman. It has been a pleasure to work with them! Can’t wait for the floor to be installed!

Employees and current manager are very professional. Just bought their product today they were out of one product said it would be in early March… I am starting my project two days from now. they made ithappen. product will be delivered a day before I begin. Now that is service! I also obser veded them with one other customer while I was there. Before the customer left the sales person thanked him and shook his hand. Glad I did not let negative reviews influence me… because I did the job for half of another quote I was given.

Was In The Middle of Being Assisted by the Manager «Stephen» when a woman entered the store (presumably his spouse or girlfriend) and immediately stopped helping me and walked away. After waiting 10 mins the assistant manager Zach kindly came over and finished helping me.
Very bizarre.

The customer service is very poor. I have been told that they would call me back multiple times over the course of 3 weeks and they never do. I suspect my flooring is in the warehouse by now but again no one is calling me. I got my floor very cheap on sale. If you don’t mind bad service and baby sitting the staff then go ahead and save some money. I’m installing myself so nothing to report on the installers.

for a first time buyer, absolutely no recommendations on flooring by staff. as for the installation process and personnel, lets put it this way, next time, if there is one, I will go to a mom and pop store for personalized and individualized service, with great customer service.

After seeing an ad on TV touting the great Labor Day sale, I trekked on down and purchased 210 feet of Brazilian Walnut for a home office renovation. The manager explained to me this was a closeout and will be shipped from the factory and be available for pickup in 21 days at the Palm Desert branch. Since it seemed like I good deal I put my project on hold and waited patiently. September 23^rd I get a call explaining they «oversold» that product and I should come get a refund. LAME! They didn’t even offer to substitute an in stock material or work with me. I’m disappointed with LL and their poor customer service!
*** Update 9÷27÷10: John the Palm Desert LL manager phoned and let me know he located my Brazilian Walnut after all. According to him it is being loaded on the truck from an east coast warehouse and I should expect to see it soon. That’s great news! I’ll update the story (and overall ratings) after I get it installed.
*** Final Update 11÷11÷10 Wood finally installed on the floor. Looks very nice but I got an earful from my handyman who installed it. He complained of significant inconsistencies in the width of the plank, irregular groves depths, and a couple other nits which I scrutinized and concurred with. It made installation much more labor intensive and ultimately a bit more costly. Wouldn’t say I’d buy from LL again. 2 stars is generous.
