History

Established in 1995.

Two guys with a love for fishing and a passion to share their catch with good friends, decided to combine these passions and do what they did best.“What would happen if we opened a Fresh Fish Market & Grill, served only the best of the catch in a relaxed atmosphere and did it in… the Desert?” That is what Louis Pagano and life-​long friend Bill Mortz did 15 years ago and the results speak for themselves. Voted Best «Seafood Restaurant, Value, & Fish Taco,» Fisherman’s Market & Grill is now four restaurants strong. We had a delicious lunch (catfish and potato wedges $ 8.99 lunch special!) at this place whilst on vacation — before returning to Los Angeles. I made the mistake of leaving my handbag on the back of the chair and I didn’t notice until I got back to LA! I called them straightaway and they had already put it in their safe. They took my address and mailed it to me — next day delivery and they wouldn’t let me send a check for the postage. The kindness of strangers is astounding. Also, this is a great way to build brand loyalty. We will be back there on our next trip to the coachella valley :) THANK YOU!

Skip clam strips. They taste more like flour than Clams. Take a pass even if they were free. Service slow — bartender had to be found to get check.

Usually consistent. Not tonight.
NEVER make guests wait 5 minutes while taking a phone order.
Wasn’t busy at 745 pm and food took way too long.
Beyond disappointed. No apologies. No offer to make right. Won’t be back.

Love the new bar, this was our first visit here. We always wait until the «snowbirds» are gone to try local restaurants, no offense to our visitors, but everything is so crowded during the season. Anyway, loved the live music, service was good «Summer» very sharp and friendly. However, they do need to re-​think their salads. I’m watching my calories so ordered the low cal dinner with side salad and the salad was awful! If they are going to have a salad on the menu they need to re-​think it, my husband ordered the Caesar and it was not good either. They knew it and bought us a round of drinks and made an effort when he returned it to be tossed but I wouldn’t order it again However we WILL return loved everything else… Clam Chowder and Oysters Rockefeller.

I’m always reserved when eating seafood unless I’m on the coast and even then, I survey the area for evidence of a fresh catch.
I threw caution to the wind when I read the Unilocal reviews and saw the Crab Cakes on the menu. I should have listened to my instincts.
My husband and I started our dinner with the Shrimp Cerviche, I had the Crab Cake dinner and my husband opted for the «World Famous» Baja Fish Tacos (both served with coleslaw and chips).
Let’s just say the starter was the best part of the meal. We also enjoyed the live music.

The restaurant had outdoor and indoor seating and take-​out self-​served stands. It located inside a small shopping mall. Moderate and decent. There’s a band playing at outdoor seating tonight, very loud and noisy, but it seemed everybody enjoyed it.
We ordered a Seafood Gumbo-​with Oyster, Fish, Shrimp & Okra ($ 10 a bowel). It’s delicious: we did see and taste all the stuff they claimed they had in there. The value should have been over $ 10. Had a Boston Clam Chowder ($ 5 a cup). It’s thicker and tastier than most others we have tasted. Our main dish was a unique Hawaiian Combo-​with Shrimp, Mahi-​Mahi & Salmon ($ 20, very good). We enjoyed very much the in-​expensive experience.

Great food. Service was spotty at best. Took 15 min to get a table when not many people were there and 2 hours to eat but thee food and drinks were delicious. At one point 2 severs argued in front of us about who had the table. If you have time on your hands, worth an stop for sure! Get the pound of crab legs, totally worth it!

This review is long overdue! I came here twice when I was visiting my grandparents in Palm Springs in December. I had the lobster tacos and fish and chips. Both dishes were yummy, including the fries that came on the side. I also loved their apricot sauce that’s half sweet and half spicy. We also picked up fish to cook at home, which was great. I’ll make sure to go to Fisherman’s on my next visit.

A favorite haunt for Palm desert especially on Fridays during lent. Fish is fresh. Service is good. It can crowded and parking can be tight. Ahi, Salmon and cod are delicious.

This place rocks! Talk about consistency and good quality surf and turf products. Last time out in the Coachella Valley I dined here for dinner. This is one of five locations East in the Coachella Valley and they know how to get things done right.
This visit I ordered the steak and fried shrimp. Side choices were the rice pilaf and included was their yummy cole slaw. My steak was cooked perfect and the shrimp were large and tasty. I asked for steak sauce and the manager said they didn’t have any so he ran next store to Trader Joes and purchased a bottle just for me!
BTW They are expanding next store and are installing a large bar area. Yes, I’ll be returning to another location of Fisherman’s Market & Grill soon!

I was anticipating a terrific seafood meal and what I got for the most part was seafood jerky.
I ordered the Hawaiian Combo which is a piece of mahi mahi, a skewer of shrimp and a piece of teriyaki salmon. The salmon was moist but the mahi mahi was like leather and the shrimp were so hard that I couldn’t remove them from the skewer.
They were accomodating and allowed me to substitute the rice/​potato and coleslaw for a garden salad. This place is extremely popular and a lot of stuff coming out of the kitchen looked quite delicious so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing?

We had visited this restaurant a while back, not knowing that it was the same as the restaurant in Palm Springs. The service was great and the food was delicious! We both enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder and the Fisherman’s Boat (each!). It hit the spot.
The last time we visited the restaurant in Palm Springs, hubby ordered the Fisherman’s Boat and I had the Shrimp and Cod. I was kinda jealous that he had such a great variety, so I decided that I would order one this time. It was very good, and it hit the spot. Would I do it again? Probably not, but at least I can say that I’ve done it. It’s a lot of fried food at one sitting. I ordered the rice pilaf to help lessen the guilt of my decision! (Kinda like having a diet soda with a burger or pizza — they «cancel» each other out…)
We look forward to visiting again for another seafood fix!
