We replaced an old 80% single stage furnace with a new Trane 90+% variable speed fan furnace installation done for us by Five Star Heating and Air on 10÷29÷16. I was uncertain as to how I would like the final product and would it be worth the extra expense. I am extremely pleased to say it was absolutely one of the best things that has ever been done to this home of 39+ years. The difference in the comfort, both humidity and temperature stability, is amazing; not to mention the quieter operation with nearly silent continuous fan induced air circulation.
Bill was our sales rep. Of all the companies we contacted, he was the only one who surveyed all the rooms, and laid out the specifics and some options and how they would affect the heating/​cooling operation. In our case, none of the options were extreme and some in fact I performed myself with his blessing and offered advice. We passed on one of the options Bill offered to help insure our 100% satisfaction (larger cold air return).
When the installer arrived, I had the room available for him and he completed the install in one day. He left the room as clean if not cleaner than when he entered and gave a quick lesson in thermostat operation.
After 3 months of use, and January’s coldness utilizing the 2^nd stage burner and a much higher fan speed, the fan noise we heard at the cold air return just off the furnace did increase, as it did with our old furnace. After my call to Bill, a service person, Issac, returned to our home, reconfigured our cold air return and successfully reduced the air movement noise we experienced. The completed job could not be better if I had done it myself (which of course I couldn’t) but you’ve got the idea of just how great I feel this project ended up. We have used Five Star for the last five years. We bought our Trane furnaces with them and have continued to use them for maintenance. Very reliable, trustworthy, and reasonably priced, Five Star has always been there for us. They responded very quickly when our furnaces got damaged in a recent flood and fixed our HVAC systems promptly. I have referred them to a few friends that now use them all as their HVAC company. They are true experts.

Called today to ask a question about another property out of state and I couldn’t believe all the information she gave me and what questions to ask so we wouldn’t end up over paying! Sadly they don’t go that far but I truly appreciated the honesty and knowledge and will continue to use them and tell my friends and neighbors! Best hometown business by far! You rock!!!
