Said they could install a battery in my I Phone while I waited. I had them confirm this twice before i made the drive, they even checked to be sure they had the parts. After driving there I was told could not do the repair at that time, they would call me next week when the tech was in. What a waste of my time. I will never go back

Just got off the phone after asking about a replacement headphone assembly and a new battery. The estimate? $ 80.00 far the assembly I can get off Amazon for $ 4.95 to $ 10 and the battery for $ 14.95.
Yes a workman is worthy of his wages but a 400% markup? I think not, thanks but no thanks, I’ve placed my Amazon order and will do it myself.

Four months ago I had my laptop repaired because there was a short where I plug in the power cord. This is a fairly common problem and once every year or so the problem re-​appears. (Previously, I had this repair done by another company, a company I will now use again.) So, when the same problem appeared to come up six months earlier than usual, I was less than happy. I say «appeared,» because while the power supply jack didn’t appear shorted, I kept getting a message saying that the internal battery wasn’t charging. In any event, I went back to Gadget Guru and the gentleman behind the counter did his triage, told me I was one month out of the company’s warranty and it appeared that the same repair, the one they did just four month’s earlier would have to be done again. I paid the $ 50 deposit so that they could look at my computer, but I specifically told them that if the $ 50 didn’t cover it, I didn’t want them working on my computer. Two weeks later, after not hearing from them I called. I was told the computer was repaired and the bill would be $ 100. I explained the situation to the person who picked up the phone and he gave me back my attitude and then some. He asked me, point blank, did I want him to un-​do the repair. I told him I would take care of it when I picked up the computer. I picked up the computer, reminded the same cashier of what I had previously discussed with him (that I didn’t want him to work on the computer if the cost was more than my $ 50 deposit) and I went home, glad to have my computer back. Once I got home I plugged in the computer and the same «battery not charging» issue showed up on the screen. I brought the computer back. This time I was «under warranty.» Five days later, after I didn’t hear from the store, I called in. The problem was fixed. Apparently, the battery wasn’t pushed in all the way and that’s why there was a problem. So, I asked, when I picked up the computer, if the problem was caused by my failure to push my battery all the way in, why did I have to pay $ 100 for this repair. Apparently, my $ 100 fixed the issue and then when I went home and immediately plugged in my power supply, I somehow caused the problem to magically re-​appear again. Obviously I will never use this place again.

Avoid Gadget Guru. I emailed Paul Choi, Regional Manager on the 23^rd about a phone screen repair and after a delay he got back to me and asked me to bring in the phone so they could order the part. I did that the next day & paid the deposit. I was told the part would be in and the repair would be done w/​in 2 – 3 days. Each time I called I was told the part was on the way. I made it clear all along that I had a hard deadline of the 4^th for the repair. GG never got the part & then, even after I emailed Paul, never refunded my deposit. I called them & now I’m told I have to drive back there to get my deposit back. Paul seems to be avoiding my calls and hasn’t returned email.
Gadget Guru is a complete waste of time w/​poor customer service.

What started as a $ 70 repair became a $ 130 loss.
Check my other reviews, I mostly post good things about businesses. But I have to just say that this place was really disorganized.
They didn’t even take the time to let me know that my system was repaired and ready for pick up. When I got home, I noticed that they had not returned my game.
I offered them an opportunity to fix the situation, but the manager, Paul, didn’t seem to care about customer service.
Buyer beware.
