This location fills fast and early so great for the early sunrise beach walk/run. The park is open like many others from Sunrise to sun set. This is really a small parking area with a dozen spots rather than a park. There is a life guard tower here. There are also a few outdoor showers and a restroom facility that is kept clean. The stairs lead down to the beach but are not wheel chair accessible.

One of my favorite little parks in Ormond. While it’s not«technically» a park, it is a small parking area, with maybe 12 – 15 spots, a few outdoor showers and a restroom facility. The facilities are kept fairly clean and there are stairs that lead straight down to the beach.(If you have a large cooler, or someone that cannot handle steep stairs, you might want to park down at Rennick or Bicentennial.) During the summer months, unless you are there for a sunrise(which is beautiful), you can forget about parking here. I would drive or bike over here in the early morning hours for a quick yoga session on the beach, but with the limited spots, it fills up very quickly.(And definitely pay attention to the entrance and exit signs!) During off-season, you will have much better luck snagging a spot. The surfboard art installations are pretty cool, and make for some cool photos. I’ve even parked here at night to watch meteor showers… but watch out! If a cop drives by and spots you, they will come and check out what you are up too.(Since the park closes at dusk.) The last time I explained to the officer I was there for a meteor shower, and he was kind enough to let me stay. :) And with the life guard tower right there, it’s a safe place that usually has someone around if you happen to need any help. The beach generally doesn’t get too-too crowded, so you can grab a few rays without feeling like someone is right on top of you. I do miss living so close to the ocean…
