La Quinta Inn & Suites Orem University Parkway

Ambiance/​Food:
As we enter, the front lounge was nice. Large seating area for hang out and their free continental breakfast in the morning. Some single seat table area has plugs for computers and cell phones. Breakfast is very simple. There are no meat items. Simply small danishes, cereal, instant oatmeal, toast, make your own waffle area, boiled eggs, juices, coffee and teas. Enough to get you started through your day so not complaining too much.
This place is so hard to navigate. Lots of one way streets. Very confusing.
Room:
Pretty decently large room. Love their large long table/​desk. Perfect for business stay when you have a lot of paperwork to do. Has microwave and fridge which i alway try to book rooms with. So much more convenient. Too bad i did give it 3 stars for it being somewhat dirty. I was itching at night and got a few bites from the bed. The over bed couch had a lot of stains. Gross. The shower head had loads of calcium deposits etc. Should either clean it or change it out because its definitely not appealing.
Service:
Lady was really nice but either she’s super slow or customers cant stop asking a thousand questions. How long does it take to check it? What do you absolutely need to know. Geez.

We had stayed here last year and were pretty satisfied so we decided to stay here again on our trip back to California. Unfortunately, this time, we were less than impressed. For $ 125 a night, I was expecting a clean room with clean towels at the very minimum. Instead I got a dirty toilet that leaked from behind onto the filthy bathroom floor, stained towels, no toilet paper, and disgusting carpets. The 4^th floor air conditioning was blowing hot air in the hallway which made the floor feel like it was 150 degrees. The elevator floors were sticky and the hot tub was cold. If the hotel and others around hadn’t been fully booked, I would have left. Instead we slept and got out of there as quickly as possible in the morning. The front desk gave me a $ 15 discount for the conditions, but it doesn’t make up for how gross this hotel was. I’ve been to cleaner Motel 6’s. Needless to say, we will be staying elsewhere in the future.

Giving it another and final try. Had to run back here on last minute business trip. This place is super pet-​friendly and the staff and management always seem to try really hard.
So far at check-​in I got the smallest room I’ve ever stayed at in this place on the first floor. Not a good sign when before reaching the door, red solo cup was in front of the door and hall. It is late in the evening. Then as I entered the room, I was blinded by a car with their headlights on outside the window… first floor. Sigh. Now as I am typing this review I am accompanied by the sound of rhythmic dripping of water from the tub. Oh how I remember this place back when it first opened. Not the same as it use to be. I’ll update this as my stay continues.
Before checking-​in I asked for a quieter room. Since there were many options, I was placed in… the room by the exit… NO it is not quiet. All hours of the night you hear the exit door open and slam. Open and slam. Then cars turning on outside your window. Thank goodness it’s my last night here tonight. By far, of all the nights I’ve stayed to include several when boys camp was running around the hotel… or when the pool storage room caught fire and the power was out for hours… this has been my most horrible not restful stay. So much for giving this place another chance. One more night.

Travel to Provo and have stayed here on several occasions and each time it gets worse. I checked in given a room key and given a poor description of where the room was. Get luggage to room and neither key works. I go back to front desk and am told by clerk that it was an old key that doesn’t always work. She than acts as if she is doing me a favor by giving me a new key. Clerk gives me a key she knows is faulty and seemingly finds it amusing. Hotel seems to always have a number of high school teams staying there so look forward to six kids in each room making plenty of noise. I will have to try to find a new base for my Provo stays.

This hotel gets one star for lack of cleanliness and bad management response. I recently spent three nights here. When I checked in, the first room I was given had a very bad, disgusting stain on the bed skirt, which looked like it had been soaked in some kind of fluid. Then I was given a second room, and the skirt was also stained – clearly not having been cleaned. The third room was fine re the bed skirts, though was definitely not very clean. On our Saturday morning there, gardeners were outside our ground-​floor room using loud a leaf blower and powered hedge trimmer. I called the front desk, and was told the manager would be notified, but I was never contacted by the manager. I definitely will avoid this hotel in the future.

Stayed here and it was perfect! My daughter and husband enjoyed the pool and hot tub and I just love the very friendly staff! Thanks for the fantastic stay

Well, where do I start? The «Eco-​friendly» toilet ran all night. (Noisy). There was very little hot water. The water diverter in the shower was loose and kept falling allowing the water to flow into the tub instead of through the shower head. Tried to charge my cell phone but didn’t realize the wall switch needed to be turned on to get power to the outlet. Woke up to a dead phone.
Tonight we’re at a Hampton Inn. Head and shoulders above La Quinta. Cleaner, more comfortable, better amenities, and less $$ as well.

What a great place. Staff was super friendly, and accommodating. Great rooms, we had three. They are close to many locations, clean and great prices. I’m from Las Vegas and very picky, there was nothing wrong with this place. I looked for things to be wrong, I always do. I tape roll the sheets to check for cleanliness and this place is clean. Strong wifi, great parking nice rooms. I will come back. One person posted that it was inconvenient to get here, well you can get here from all 4 corners. Sounds like she would get lost in a paper bag with both ends open. Oh, steak house on the property and another one across the street. Did I mention the mall is across the street as well. GREAT PLACE!!!

The cost per room was about $ 15 less than other comparable rooms in the immediate area. Here are some of the reasons why: This property is only accessible via eastbound University Parkway. If you are coming from Orem university mall to this location you have to go all the way down to the Walmart intersection to turn around and come back at the property. They did not offer us queen size beds, only double sized beds. There is little to no ventilation in the bathroom. The shower curtains are bowed in the middle, such that the shower curtain will not stay closed at either end of the shower. The only trashcan in the entire room is in the bathroom, there should be one in the main living area. The breakfast is truly continental. There are no eggs nor hashbrowns nor proteins such as meat. They offered toast, bagels, waffles and cereal. Toilet flushing was always a guess, you weren’t sure if it really flushed or if you needed to hold the handle longer. Lots of long black hair are in the sink and other bathroom surface areas including the tub none of us have long black hair. The blow dryer was full of hair as well. There was a clear plastic wrapper left in our bed under one of the pillows, and another rapper was left in the ice bucket in the bathroom. The heating and air-​conditioning unit resisted all efforts to change the temperature or the fan control. It turned on and off at its leisure not mine. I did check for a wall control unit, none to be found. To top off our stay here, during the early morning hours before it was light I was reading the news on my phone in bed and a large spider dropped from the ceiling onto my pillow making a loud plunking noise. Could not fall back asleep after that experience. Needless to say we will not be staying here again.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had to have our car towed into Orem when we broke down in the middle of nowhere. Over 100 miles in the tow truck. We unloaded all our stuff for our 10 day road trip and I checked into the room. The desk staff were so nice at check in. Then I walked into a room that was much more than I expected from La Quinta. When our car was not expected to be ready until 5pm the staff was very generous in allowing us to stay as late as we needed. $ 3000 in repairs later we continued on our way. I had never stayed in a La Quinta before but I expect we might in the future because of this experience.

The management at this hotel is super responsive and helpful. The rooms are pretty, with nice décor throughout. Tons of nice-​sized parking spots. Plenty of hot water, and good air conditioning. A very good family-​friendly place.

It’s a place to sleep but the service is horrible. The air in our room broke so we asked for another room since they were taking so long to fix it. They told me to wait for the repair man, that he would be to our room as soon as he could. He came an hour later. Then when I called for more towels, I was told that the desk clerk was the only one here so he couldn’t leave the desk, but I could come to the desk and get them. Not to mention the lumpy beds and harsh shower. I don’t recommend this place at all.

This would have been a two star review, but since they increased the rates for graduation, I am comparing it to other $ 180 per night hotels in the area.

We traveled with our pet and stayed here. The room was clean, roomy, long work desk and odor free. The bathroom amenities were all working and the water pressure was strong. You couldn’t tell it was a pet friendly room. The city of Orem was a great place to stop in, it had many great restaurants and shopping.

Hot tube was cold and has been for a long time! From the reviews that I have heard! They advertise high speed internet which I really needed… High speed is considered 20 mbs and I clocked in .19 when I was online la Quinta. Called the front desk and had nothing to say about these two issues!

This hotel isn’t that bad. BUT, and it’s a big ‘un this but, the bath tube didn’t drain when the wife and I showered. Now I suppose it’s partly the wife and I’s fault we didn’t complain right away. It was eleven O’clock at night when we showered and the young white girl at the counter didn’t seem the type to wield a plunger. I was discouraged because the in room literature said there was not maid service at night, so what are the odds they will have a plumber sitting around. I guess I could have demanded a new room, OH the inconvenience there though. Oh, and the bums pan handling outside on the street didn’t thrill me or the ghetto thumping going by my room window. Except to say they took pets and the restaurant attached had some excellent food! If I could only get past the tub and the homeless I would have been more impressed.
Overall, won’t be staying at another La Quinta again, unless it’s a last resort with the pooch.

After staying at the La Quinta in New Orleans, I knew I’d be happy staying at one again. This one looks newly renovated. The rooms are big, clean, and spacious with a long desk, a flat screen, and a movable giant ottoman the width of the king size bed. I was especially happy with the microwave and mini fridge (no freezer compartment).
On top of free wifi, this La Quinta has a free breakfast with a self-​serve waffle maker. My boyfriend was ecstatic. This is also located minutes from the drive-​thru Krispy Kreme. We stayed for two nights during the week in winter and the rate was very reasonable.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a recent business trip and found this to be an excellent hotel. They really did not miss on anything. The property is nice, comfy beds, all of the expected amenities, friendly helpful staff.

This is a wonderful property and the price is right! We paid $ 99/​night for a weekend stay.
The rooms were clean and modern. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was fresh, tasty and had a pretty good variety of choices.
The kids really enjoyed the pool and I really enjoyed kicking back with some beers in the garden/​gazebo/​poolside area. The hotel is just far enough off the busy street for the grounds to be quiet and peaceful.
The best part of this hotel, and the main reason we intially chose it, is that it’s super pet-​friendly! They didn’t charge us any extra money, not even a deposit, to bring super-​MOJO along with us. There were lots of dogs here and all were welcome.
If I’m ever FORCED to stay in Orem again, this La Quinta is the place for me… absolutely!
