TOP DOG INN IS MY DOG’S SECOND HOME! Tracy and Ken are THE BEST. They took great care of my little dog Annie for two weeks while we were on a cruise. My dog is older, needs twice a day medication, stays with me all day and is my shadow. Annie and I are a Pet Therapy Team and I know my dog very well. When we picked her up she was alert and happy.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. First of all THANK YOU so much Tracy & Ken for taking care of my little Diva, and for the bone you guys gave us. As you can see in the pictures she Loves it!!!
I felt so relieved to know that I can count on you guys whenever I need a day/​night care for my Diva. I loved that you guys make sure that the dogs you take in are completely free of any type of viruses or infections like Giardia. I really liked the fact that you guys made sure i brought all the paperwork because I knew right there that my puppy was going to be in a save, and clean place.
I cant wait for Tracy to groom my puppy for the first time as well as taking my Diva for play time and day/​night care!

I found Top Dog online. I had a daughter moving down there for school and was taking her dog with her. Her dog is her baby and she loved it and so did Thresh. Can’t say enough great things about them.

I am so happy to have found Top Dog Inn! Tracy and her husband are both very friendly, knowledgable and caring! We just began bringing our 5 month old puppy to Top Dog Inn, but Tracy goes out of her way to make sure our Lola is comfortable and happy, since she is quite a nervous puppy! They are very thorough with making sure all dogs coming to Top Dog Inn are vaccinated, have had recent fecal testing, and play well with other dogs before allowing them to attend daycare. They also maintain very clean facilities. They board, groom, train, provide doggy daycare and live on site, so I always feel comfortable that Lola is being treated like a part of the family when she is there! You can just tell they love what they do!

I have only used too dog inn for boarding my dog Bulleit twice while I was on vacation. Both times I have been beyond pleased with everything from the first walk through to the time I picked him up. I don’t even know how to articulate the feeling I have about Tracy and Ken, they are caring and compassionate people who genuinely love dogs of all breeds and sizes. My dog Bulleit is a large guard dog but also very shy and nervous at 14months. The staff in my opinion does a wonderful job of introductions and adapting him to a new environment quickly. He always leaves with a smile and they do their best to accommodate us in every way. I know Bulleit is safe and I never worry when he is there and that’s a good feeling to have when you’re an over protective dog parent. See you again soon

We take our English Bulldog Gunny here for boarding, day camp, and grooming. We couldn’t be happier with all of the services, and most importantly, Gunny is too. He gets so excited when we pull up and runs to see Tracy and Ken. I know he is in great hands and I have no worries when he is there. They are very accommodating to our needs. I have never had a dog feel so clean as when he gets groomed here and it’s very reasonable. The owners are so passionate about their business and it shows. I have recommended them to all of my friends and family.

I bring my two cocker spaniels to Top Dog Inn exclusively because of the incredible personal service and the deep expertise of the operators. Tracy also does the full show grooming for both girls and they look better than I do!

My dog Otis was just recently there and he came back Happy as can be. I have no complaints and I think others should try this place out.

Beware of all these 5-​star reviews! They must all be friends recruited to write about this place. We checked it out in hopes that we would find a suitable place for our fur baby, who is a small dog, very young and has alot of energy.
This place is deplorable. Outdoor runs (brrrr) on concrete, no place for the dogs to play or run. Looks like a run-​down old shack. Where was the so-​called ‘play yard’? The lady there didn’t really know and indicated there really wasn’t one.?? IF they even walk the dogs they take them down the very busy street (Collins/​industrial area). Dogs there seemed highly agitated the entire time, overcrowded and they were constantly barking. When we pressed about the play area, we were told that they «sometimes load them up and take the dogs to the park if they have a chance».
Not with our baby… ever. We will forget going anywhere if this is how they all are… what a bunch of baloney. Shameful.

This is the second time we have boarded our dog Daisy at Top Dog and she was taken care of beautifully! Ken and Tracy were able to take her last minute. Daisy was excited to get out of the car and go in — not hesitant at all.
When we picked her up this morning, she looked better than when dropped her off! Her dry nose has cleared up and her coat was shiny and beautiful.
I was referred to Top Dog by our vet but now I feel that I can recommend Top Dog absolutely!

2^nd Review: My puppy– Odin– is a Malamute /​GShepherd-​Wolf mix; He is 10 Months old. He is not yet neutered; He is extremely loving and playful with people and other dogs. He is a joy– and I am admittedly very protective of him, but I consider myself a proactive and thoughtful «pet parent” — while being very open to input on Odin’s continued development. Ken and Tracy have been amazing in helping me– help Odin– be and keep becoming a well mannered, happy, secure, loving dog. They have answered many questions– even when Odin has not been with them– giving me advice and input-​which has been invaluable.
I have boarded Odin with Ken & Tracy on at least 4 different occasions now– the longest being 2 days/​nights. On that occasion– upon picking Odin up– he was In the secured «patio» –off leash & walking calmly next to Ken — as if he (Odin) lived there. Of course– Odin was excited to see me– but looked very happy and was still playing with toys as we left!
Today– when I dropped him off for another boarding visit– Odin was EXCITED when we pulled in the driveway– and tail wagging enthusiastically –greeted Ken with Odin’s signature «mini-​happy-​howl»! Obviously– for a pet owner– this is very comforting. Again– Ken & Tracy LOVE what they do– and it is apparent-​they love the animals that board with them.

I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with the owner of this business, who took the time to give me advise and helpful hints on house training my new puppy. I was obvious her desire was simply to help, not necessary get my business. How refreshing! And yes, I will be taking my puppy to them for training.

I found top dog through a friend of a friend. I will never take Fozzie anywhere else. I could tell from his behaviour upon my return that he had gotten the same love and attention he receives from me. I love you guys and so does Fozzie. Thank you!

We recently expanded our canine family from 2 to 4 dogs just a few months ago, and the 2 new rescues (mini long hair dachsies) are just not 100% potty trained yet, so we couldn’t leave them at home with our pet-​sitter. After checking out several vet practices and boarding places, we decided to go with Top Dog Inn based on our vet’s recommendation (OC Vet Med Center), even though it is a 45 minute drive from our home in South OC. From the moment I spoke with Tracy on the phone, I felt at ease. She was cheerful, positive, confident, and clearly very experienced with dogs. I appreciated how specific and clear she was in her communication, and that she was obviously making every effort to prevent disease and parasite outbreaks with her requirements. The last time we boarded a dog was several years ago at a different vet’s pet «hotel», and we were horrified when our beloved dog came back with kennel cough/​bronchitis for a month and a bloody gash on his nose that the staff claimed they had no idea how he got. Needless to say, we were very cautious about boarding any of our dogs again! Anyway, we set up a date for a meet and greet, and we met both Tracy and Ken in person, bringing one of our rescue dogs to check out the boarding facility. The place is carefully thought out, and includes an area that is air-​conditioned on hot days, which we appreciated since it can get hot in OC even in spring. We really liked that instead of keeping dogs in cages all the time, they let them out several times a day for play time with toys and supervision, and would have plenty of human interaction with both Ken and Tracy themselves. Well, when we picked them up four days later, I think our dogs’ reaction says it all. Ken accompanied us when we went to get our dogs from the air-​conditioned crate area, and they both ran past us and tried to follow Ken! After a while, they seemed to recognize us, and then started greeting us excitedly but the fact that they initially tried to run after Ken made us feel SO at ease! Both dogs mean the world to us, though we’ve only known them for a few months, and one of them is very timid and insecure, so I was worried about leaving her with strangers. Seeing her reaction to Ken made me know in my gut that we’d made the right decision! Also, they were very reasonable in their prices, not nickel and diming us for individualized food and supplement requirements like some establishments, and even gave us a bag of avocadoes from their tree as a parting gift. They made a potentially anxiety-​producing experience so pleasant for our new rescues, and I am so relieved we found them. In addition, they even brushed our dogs’ hair before we picked them up, so they looked ever so spiffy and clean. Both dogs are clean, healthy, as well as relaxed and happy, and I couldn’t ask for a better result.

We ended up leaving our dog with Ken and Tracy since our regular boarding facility was already booked up over the holidays. They were recommended by our vet and I can certainly see why. From the minute you walk into the facility, you know they are the ideal couple to take care of your pet while you are away.
They know their canines and will make sure your 4 legged friend gets the care and attention they need while you are away. Looking forward to using them again!

I found this place on Unilocal and it’s near by where we live. Me and my gf went to check the place out and really liked the enviroment. Tracy and Ken are really nice people and we totally trust them with our dog. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking to board your dog for a couple of days or even just day care.

After trying many many groomers in the LA area and really not wanting our little guy to look like a poodle head (yes little kids always asked if he was a poodle !)…

So — on the grooming side — and IF you have a Cocker Spaniel (and other breeds)
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
On the kennel side — we’ve toured the Kennel and can see that they have given much thought into their environment — with areas for play — an enclosed yard etc.
AND — they are personally always there themselves to give your pet the very best and most experienced attention.

My dog means the world to me. She is like my own child. Wait, she is my child. I felt very comfortable the minute I toured the facility and met Ken and Tracy. I knew my precious furball would be in good hands with them. They treat you like an old friend. When I brought my dog in for a meet and greet, to see how she would do she also seemed to like them. Maybe it was because they were so kind to her and kept on giving her treats and bottom scratches.
Fast forward to her stay. I utilized the doggy day care service, where she got to stay and play with them for the day. I wanted her to get used to staying by taking baby steps before her first overnight-​er. I know she had a good time with them.
Their grooming service is FANTASTIC. My little girl was so soft and smelt to delicious. I just wanted to squeeze her close to me all night. Tracy and Ken did an excellent job making sure her hair was shampooed and conditioned, then combed. Her nails were trimmed, glands cleaned, the whole Shabang .In fact she seems to be shedding less after her bath.
What gave me piece of mind was knowing that my Vet recommend TOP DOG Inn and if anything ever happened to my doggy during her stay they would make sure she got treated at my regular Vet.
Now its time to go find my girl and give her some more love.

I have to travel for work and would never consider leaving my dog, who means everything to me, with anyone other than Tracy and Ken. I’m very particular and the level of personal attention they give Sabrina is unparalleled in my experience with kennels. The air-​conditioning in the kennel also gave me huge peace of mind recently when I heard that the temperatures were routinely in the 90s while I was away. All of this for completely reasonable pricing.
Further, Tracy provided excellent obedience training. Before Tracy = Sabrina walking me. After Tracy, the other way around. AND she also learned «sit», «down» «stay» and «come». I cannot speak highly enough of the positive reinforcement Tracy uses — tons of praise, hugs and treats — clearly, it works. The bottom line is how happy Sabrina seems when I pick her up. Not just happy to see me, but also playful with Tracy and Ken. Many thanks!
