Ubersport Performance

Changing your name from Garage Tuning, which literally was the type of quality work you were putting out, to Ubersport Performance doesnt change anything lol. Work is never completed on time. Kevin, you were just a terrible shop owner and bs’er. Anyone reading this do not take your car here. Do yourself a favor and drive by their shop. I’m pretty sure it wont even be open because there is never anyone there! Take your car to Cobb Tuning for maintenance or RSE Rallysport in Costa Mesa. Stay away from here. You’ve been warned.

Have been to many Subaru specific auto repair shops and honestly have found my home with these guys. They seem to care about each car they work on rather than getting the car out as soon as possible. Kelley and Kevin both know what they are doing and have been doing it for over 16 years. They finished my 09 wrx up and now almost done with my RS to STI swap for me. Ubersport is now home for my Subies. Don’t go through 5 years of pain going to different shops like I did.

I’ve my 2006 Subaru WRX for a few years now and all the work I need done I come here for. Kelley is always willing to listen to me as a customer and gets the job done without any issues. I’ve been a customer for years, and if you have a Subi, this is the place to go!

Kelly is awesome. I used to have a ’05 Subaru Outback that just needed an oil change and I lived in an apartment, so I couldn’t do it myself. Plus oil changed on Subarus were a pain. SO I took it here. This was in 2013, but I still remember the service I got.
It was expensive, right, but I trusted the guys to get it done. They were super awesome and all about Subaru. They know their ‘ish. I no longer have my Subie (I’m an idiot and went to VW), but I would totally use them for the WRX my fiancé has. If I ever get a Subie again, which I will, I will take it to these dudes.

This is the best shop I have went to so far! If you drive a subaru this is the place to go! My car ended up overheating because I thought the fans went out. Kelly ended up changing them for a great price but once I left the shop, it was still overheating. Kelly found out that the hose had a coolant leak and it wasn’t working properly. They also changed my thermostat and hosing all free of charge!

Everything Ubersport did I had to have redone. The clutch they put in only lasted 3 months cuz they didn’t replace the flywheel. The new radiator they put in only lasted 6 months. Didnt matter to them I guess even though I told them it was my daughters car and she would be driving halfway across the country in it. I was told by the owner that all they work on is subarus, well he knew that the flywheel should always be replaced with the clutch on that car. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Kelly and his crew at Ubersport rebuilt my engine with the recommended parts Kelly offers at Ubersport back in July-​August 2014. Took them a bit of time but Kelly and Kevin did a really good job on keeping me in the loop on delays and why more time was needed, hosnestly I would rather have a quality built engine that took longer then one slapped together and not last. I have 10k miles and my 05 sti feels stronger then ever I have recommended this shop to friend’s and random people I meet or ask questions about my subie. Kelly and his crew are subaru specialist and will be returning for all my subie needs. Thanks Ubersport for the quality work!

Long story.
I bought a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT wagon (auto) with a check engine light. It was a deal I couldn’t pass up.
I took it to Kelly, the most down-​to-​earth shop owner I have ever met. He came out of the shop and approached me.
That was a first.
He showed me what was wrong with the car and replaced the necessary parts.
But, this is where it gets good. The check engine light appeared again. I have an automotive background and would have done the same. This isn’t a fault of the shop.
The previous owner, simply did not know how to fix the issue. I knew it would be a lot more complicated.
He recommended getting the ECU tuned. The parts on the engine were doing everything correctly. The ECU just didn’t know what to do with the corrections.
I took the car out for a 100-​mile drive. I wanted to make sure it was legit. Not only did the car perform with a little more pep, but my gas mileage went up as well!
I really can’t thank the guys over Ubersport enough. Now, I’ve got a car that’ll last a decade!

These guys at Ubersport are really nice guys and easy to work with.
I got a turbo kit installed for my 13 Subie BRZ and its running pretty darn good. They gave me a good deal that I could not pass up on.
Kelly is the shop owner, the man, and Kevin is the tuner. The rest of the guys at the shop are pretty cool and very friendly. They have a lot of knowledge with Subaru cars so if you own one I would recommend this shop.
If you are looking for a decked out, «pretty» and overpriced garage look elsewhere. Their work area looks like how a shop garage suppose to… tools and parts everywhere, but honestly what counts is their quality work and competitive pricing.
Take it from me and give it a shot. They do performance, and I believe maintenance too. Ask for Kelly and say Charles sent you.

I called Tuesday about a quote on doing some maintenance. I received the price and everything sounded good, so I asked can I make an appointment on Saterday After a little pause ‘yeah’ said Kelly. I said okay great lets do it then. Friday comes around I called at 11am to confirm the appointment for Saturday. Kelly says, ‘yes your the motul guy right’ I said yes he says ‘what time again’ I said 9:30am he says okay and we hang up. Saturday comes around I wait til 10:30am and no ones at the shop. Called multiple times and voicemails full. Ugh thanks for nothing über performance. Formally garage tuning check out nasioc about some horror stories. Also saw a lot of beat up subies sitting outside. I guess they will stay that way cause there’s none there reliable to show up on time or even show up!

My 06′ STi started to burn a lot of oil and then started to misfire. I brought it to Ubersport after calling several shops in the area for diagnoses and Kelly, the owner, determined that it was a broken ringland and headgasket. It was verified after the teardown. So, I decided to let Ubersport rebuild my motor. Let me just say that this was the best decision that I have ever made. I went with all the recommendations that Kelly made and let me just state that the new motor exceeded my expectations. Along with all the forged internals he recommended that I go with higher compression pistons for better off boost response and quicker spool up. Boy was he right, the turbo spools a lot quicker and the car is so much more responsive and fun. This is the motor the STi should have come with. I have so far put 2,500 miles on the car and the motor feels very strong.
If you have a Subaru, Ubersport is the place you want to take your car for service and repair. I don’t think there is anything that they can’t do and their prices are really fair. Kelly’s customer service is top notch and he is just so great to deal with. As long as I have my STi I will always take my car to Ubersport for service and repair.

My review can be summed up in a simple phrase: that was easy. I’ve had a Subaru Legacy since 2001. I had to say goodbye to my ’01 in 2011 and replaced it with a 3.6. I really don’t like taking my car to the dealer because they are overpriced and take forever. Coupled with the fact that Ubersport is a mile away from my work, the reviews brought me to this place. I’m so happy that I found a new home for my Scooby. Kelly did a great job and I could feel it when I drove home.

Kelly is the man! He installed Hella Supertones on my 2014 Forester XT. I appreciated the fact that he took his time to not only install it correctly, but he made sure the wires were all neatly tucked into the frame. Not many auto peeps these days have this kind of «old-​school» craftsmanship like he does.
If he is this detail oriented on something as simple as horns, I can trust him with any bigger projects. I will be going back to him for all my Subaru needs.

If you have a Subaru, do yourself and your car a favor by giving these guys a call. They are the most knowledgeable, down to earth guys I have met in the car repair industry.
I’ve taken my car to shops that were lazy but honest and affordable, and shops that were professional and skilled but overpriced. From my experiences, I am pretty convinced that Subaru owners should take their cars to Subaru specialist repair shops. This doesn’t mean all Subaru specialty shops are good (so always do your research first), but Ubersport is beyond good… Dare I venture into cornville and say they are über good?

Kelly was very professional and gave me a great deal on the coilover install for my WRX. Seems to be very honest and knows what he is doing. He even referred me to a great alignment place nearby too. Will be sure to come back for any more work I need done on the car that I can’t or don’t have time to do myself!

This place is the best! Kelly is very professional! Very easy to talk to and ask questions! I recommend this place to every subie owner in SoCal!

I am a Subaru enthusiast and I absolutely love to have my 02 WRX Wagon modified at Ubersport! Kelly is the shop owner, he is very professional and takes customer service beyond what is expected. Unlike any other auto performance shop out to maximize their profits, Kelly truly cares about his customers. Ubersport does a wide array of custom performance jobs as well as routine maintenance. The guys at the shop are really friendly and it’s nice place to hangout at with other Subaru lovers. I highly recommend Ubersport for all your Subaru needs!

Awesome guys that are very knowledgeable. I looked around everywhere for the best deal to get my timing belt done and they were it. My car gave them extra trouble and they just rolled with the punches. Now my baby and happy and healthy thanks to them. Thanks guys!

Kelly does great work at reasonable prices. I was looking at a used Legacy from a car lot nearby and brought it to him for a full inspection. He ran a compression and leakdown test and went over the car with a fine tooth comb. The results were surprising: despite sounding and feeling great, the car needed a lot of mechanical work (totaling about $ 3k). He found things that I hadn’t noticed and that I’m positive the dealership was hiding. I passed on the car but Kelly’s services were worth every penny. Will definitely be bringing my Impreza here for service in the future and recommend Ubersport to anyone looking for a shop in the OC area.
