About 7months ago We had Mihai rewire and rework an existing room by room sound system. He made great recommendations on equipment on TV, surround sound speakers etc. on top of the equipment, we paid almost $ 3,000 in labor costs. From the start we had a problem with the «special» remote that he got (over $ 300) for the Master bedroom TV.
Every night it takes 3 – 4 tries of getting the TV to sync to the equipment in order to get a picture. We contacted Mihai right after installation and we were told «will call you and scheudle a time to readjust control». After several calls and messages, last one being today, still no response… He was very knowledgable about his products. As far as standing behind his work, well I think you can figure that out from what I have written. If you hire him, dont expect to see him back after you have paid the balance of the work.

Mehai came out to install 2 TVs at my home. When you find someone on Unilocal,you still never know if their service will be outstanding. In this case, it truly was. Mehai did not upsell anything to me. He was ontime and courteous; his assistant Robert was a great asset as well. The job was completed well within his time frame. The cost was extremely fair. He even phoned the next day to ensure that everything was working well for me and that I understood all the tech. stuff. Great customer service.

I am not one to write reviews but in this case I felt that it is just fair to recognize the excellent job Mihai and his crew did. We have a very complicated system that incorporate a TV, sound system across the whole house, intercom, door bells, numerous receivers and tons of wires.
When we first moved into this house, we hired a highly rated company that mounted the TV but made it sound that it will be too complicated to have all the wires and receivers organised in that one cabinet without drilling holes on top of the nice wood cabinet. We decided not to hire that company for the rest of the job.
Several months later, we decided to get someone else. We came across DirectHiDef & called Mihai. He was very responsive and few days later came and gave us an estimate which was quite reasonable.
The work he did is just perfect. He is very knowledgeable and took his time to go over everything with us. He asked us to call him with any question and is always very responsive. When we upgraded our DISH receiver, he came back to make sure that everything was working the way it should.

Mihai is amazing! We recently moved into a new home and within a week he had every tv in every room set up along with our surround sound! He really made our house begin to feel like a home! Listen to every word he says and let him get anything he needs in order to make it perfect. He will be honest with you and help you with everything from which Internet service is going to be the fastest to which companies to choose for cable services. He truly knows the best top notch products for all the audio/​videos you need! The way he assembles appliances is genius he literally went through my attic to rewrite the cable cord so I would not have any cords showing on my wall! It was amazing and looks so clean! I trust him and would never use anybody else!!!

DirectHiDef is fantastic. Responsive – got quick response when called about having some work done and scheduled the work right away. Reasonable – I got a rough estimate after describing the work which ended up being right on. Professional and knowledgeable – he was very kind, knew his stuff and got it done quickly. My wife felt comfortable talking with him about technical issues. Overall a perfect experience.

Wow, customer service still exists in this country, and Mihai at Direct Hi Def is living proof. Matter of fact, I hope this review does not get flagged for being too positive.
First off, let me confess that I have ten thumbs when it comes to electronics and gadgets. So, when the cleaning crew I hired yanked my TV, DVD player, speakers and FIOS cables all to hell, I was up a creek without a paddle. Nothing worked except the DVD, and that was now all pixilated. Damn it! Was I going to lose my unwatched episodes of Wilfred and the season première of Sons of Anarchy??? Ahh to hell with that!
So I found Direct Hi Def off Unilocal and give them a call around Sept 5 to explain my problem. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, since I was heading to Italy for vacation) I was not able to schedule Mihai until I returned. When I returned to work on Thursday, he was the first person I called. He remembered my dilemma and worked on scheduling me asap.
Now anyone in the L.A./OC/IE area knows what a pain the commute can be, so we had difficulty setting up an evening appointment during the week. I am in Chino Hills, and their office is in Irvine. No problem, Mihai offers to come out on Saturday. We are in touch back and forth the past few days (great communication by phone and text), and he shows up as scheduled today Saturday as agreed.
Mihai goes to work, and less than 90 minutes later, my FIOS is back up, my speakers work, the DVD looks sharper than ever, and now I have a iPOD outlet for my receiver. All at a more than fair price, mind you.
It was only in talking to Minhai that I come to find out that he is committing to my project in between several personal engagements today. He took the time, effort, and gasoline to drive from deep OC to CH on his day off to fulfill his commitment to me.
All I can say is, if you need ANYTHING in the home audio/​video installation, repair, or upgrade departments, Direct Hi Def is your solution.
When it is time to bring my home audio/​video into the 21^st Century, DHD will be the only one I call.

This company is the REAL DEAL. GREAT Installations, very professional, and very accomodating. They also have great ideas to make your LCD/​SOUND set up really awesome!
They installed my unit a little over a year ago and it still runs great and I get compliments all the time on how well it performs and looks.
