I was gonna give 5 stars, fifth star as a sympathy star. Then I called today to order two of $ 5.95 mini meal of curry chicken, they only have enough to fulfill half of an order, it’s 12:30 pm, do people eat all that curry chicken for breakfast? Anyways, this is a small yet convenient place to go for lunch, since I work very close by. For mini meals, which comes with a scoop of macaroni salad, a scoop of white rice, boiled cabbage and your choice of meat(curry chicken, bbq meat). It is $ 5.95, I think it comes with a fountain drink, but I have never gotten one. Their food is okay, sometimes the wait is a bit long, I gave 4 stars is because I always call ahead, which has almost no wait by the time I drive to pick it up, and they have a decent and hot seafood soup which gets me through winter, also for the price you are paying it’s a decent amount of food that’s super salty and doesn’t grease you up and make you fall asleep at work 2 in the afternoon.

I came in here feeling adventurous, I used to eat L&L’s in San Diego when I was in college. I came in for a quick bite because I was in a bit of a hurry. I came in and ordered the chicken katsu mini-bowl/meal for my partner and I got the combination that had all the meat. The order took a long time to fill and I had to wait at least 15 minutes + for the food to come out. While we were eating the line extended halfway through the room, not really because the place was so popular, but because the cashier was taking so long. The chicken katsu was over cooked and too crispy, the beef short rib was pretty good tho, macaroni salad was not for me. Overall, this place can be compared with«fast“food restaurants like Yoshinoya. Cheap food to fill your stomach for those on a budget. I will not be back.

This is the nearest place to my work when i’m in the mood for some Chicken Katsu or Galbi(BBQ Short Ribs). The place is outdated and I don’t really get the Hawaiian feel that associates with its name. I mean there’s a wall to the right when you walk in where they have some tiki figures hanging, and what possibly looks like ‘your view’ of the ocean. But it just doesn’t scream Hawaii. If not for the tiki there, I really would be confused. Oh, and the layout makes me feel like i’m in a cafeteria or something. Well, at least the place is clean. The food is OK. It could stand to use some flavor. I got my sister a side of macaroni salad and she said it tastes different than other places she’s been to. Really didn’t have the flavor. For my Chicken Katsu, the breading was good and the chicken was crispy, however again, there was no flavor for me. Like it needed some salt and pepper at the very least. The katsu sauce didn’t help much either, it was too watery. My vegetables on the other hand were good. I believe they maybe had just boiled it in water to cook it? The price is mediocre. ‘Value Deal’ that includes a drink for $ 5.59. You do have a couple other options other than Chicken Katsu for the main item; Island White Fish, BBQ Beef and BBQ Chicken. The wait for me is always a bit long. I believe I waited for at least 10 minute if not for a few more. I mean I have a ½ hour lunch so I really have to get going after getting this to go. So, I come to this place when i’m feeling like some ‘Hawaiian BBQ’ mix or something close to it. I know It’ll stop the hunger in my stomach for awhile, but this place will not give me the wow factor.

Ok so my parents are regulars here and always bring me leftovers that have been quite tasty. So I decided to come tonight for dinner. I ordered the Hawaiian fried rice to share with my toddler and my husband ordered the bbq mix plate with some egg rolls. When I went up to the counter to order the guy was relatively pleasant, but almost charged me twice because he answered the phone and took an order3 after swiping my card. I get it, you guys are popular and there was a long line behind me. We see the cooks put our food in the window, and we wait for the cashier to call our number… 15 minutes later my husband went up and asked him why our number hadn’t been called, cashier turns around, takes our plates out of the window and tosses them on a tray. He knew they were there the whole time! So I’m pissed, my husband is pissed, and my toddler is right about to lose his shit. The portions are big and the fried rice tasted good. My husband’s spare rib was mostly fat and everything was cold. The egg rolls were awful and the texture seemed off, like they hadn’t been fried long enough but the ends were burnt. For almost $ 25 for two plates, you could do way better and your stomach will thank you.

Came in on a Friday evening and ordered the Chicken Katsu meal. The service was very slow, the chicken had too much breaking that didn’t even taste good. The BBQ sauce had little flavor to it and the macaroni salad had no flavor at all. Unfortunately this is the worse Hawaiian BBQ I’ve ever had.

The food is ok. But the only reason I don’t like to go it’s because of the old man the cashier owner what ever he is. He is extremely rude for any reason just to pay or when u ask him a question. Avoid going to this place his attitude does not deserve your money.

I think it’s the best Hawaiian Barbecue in Ontario! I love the shrimp fried rice and spam masubi. The place is roomy and has a good environment.

A typical Hawaiian fast food. They have the usual selection of your katsus, shrimp and BBQ dishes, and other similar fare you’d expect at any chain Hawaiian place. I consider most of the food to rank between«average» to «good,» but I think they do a great job with the shrimp fried rice. Prices are comparable to other Hawaiian fast food. Be warned that during a rush, your food might take up to half an hour. Not sure how they prioritize food, but I’ve eaten enough times here to know that they might call 10 numbers before and after yours, for no apparent reason. In the end, if you’re craving standard Hawaiian food, this place will get it done if you’re in the area. But don’t bother going out of your way for it.

Owner/cashier was extremely rude with the costumer service. I wanted to leave but I was hungry. Takes a long time to get your food. And once we did get our food the macaroni salad looked and tasted watered down. Such a disappointment I was looking foward to the taste of the MAGIC in the macaroni salad. But there was no MAGIC in this place at all. Never again. 10÷11÷15

Food was ok. Not the best katsu but good. If you need A quick lunch and are tired of the same thing. This Hawaiian barbecue place is OK. I wouldn’t come back to try it again. But I live super far

Last time coming here. Took forever to prepare one Hawaiian bbq mix combo meal and a mini meal. Over a twenty minute wait and not crowded. Food was just okay. I would rather waste the calories at McDonald’s. The short ribs had nothing but fat attached to them and it was burnt. If I hadn’t ordered take out then I would have taken back to counter. It appeared to me that they buried it underneath to make it look presentable. Ate most of chicken and tossed the rest. I tried the macaroni salad and nothing special. I wouldn’t even give rest to my dogs because I am not cruel. Hopefully I don’t get sick. I hate wasting calories. Good luck with this spot.

Horrible! Absolutely Horrible. The food was nowhere par to Ono or other Hawaiian place. The restroom was filthy with floating stuff clogged up. Poorly maintained

Magic Hawaiian is a place thats good to grab a quick bite. Its located off of Grove Ave in the Lowes Plaza. It sits near Panda Express. The service is nothing to write home about. I think the owner is the cashier. I always get the same thing. Garlic Shrimp. They give you a good amount of shrimp a ton of garlic and cabbage. It comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of pasta salad. Food usually comes out pretty quick. you can call ahead and order.

I had lunch here today. I had the crispy chicken meal. It was ok. It just didn’t have as good of taste that I remember from the past. I remember having chicken teriyaki when I came here in the past. It tasted better. The lunch meal is about 7 dollars. However, when you get a drink it adds up to about 10 dollars. The size of the lunch meal is huge. The next time here, I plan on getting the mini-meal instead.

My coworkers and I ate here was because we already ate at Panda Express the previous day and they had never had Hawaiian BBQ before and wanted to try it. I ordered my usual Hawaiian BBQ favorite — chicken katsu mini meal. The female cashier was really rude and not friendly. When I took out my amex she said — NOWEDONTTAKEAMEX. uh ok, you could be a little friendlier about it… Calm down, I have a Visa too. The food came out relatively quick at least for how busy it was. The chicken was crispy, but that was the only positive. The rice was soggy, the bed of cabbage was partially cooked but still hard and gross, and the macaroni salad was so BLAND and MUSHY. Usually macaroni salad is my favorite part of Hawaiian BBQ, but this was really bad. Ugh. My coworker did not enjoy his garlic shrimp either. It was literally a couple shrimp cooked in like 7 tablespoons of minced garlic. Whew — it stunk! My other two coworkers got chicken teriyaki and drowned it in sauce to make it taste better. Ugh. Side note — this area kinda smells like sewage everywhere. We were seated by the door and when people would enter or exit, hot stinky wind would blow it. Not very appetizing. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

When in the IE area and looking for a good decent meal between $ 6-$ 10 that’ll fill you up without paying tip, we come here. I’ve always come in big groups, which this place doesn’t really cater to. It’s an order at the counter type place, like McDonald’s. Décor is mediocre, bathroom is single private bathroom which I find extremely inconvenient in a «fast food» dining environment. And the cleanliness of the place needs some TLC in a sense that I don’t see tables or counters being constantly wiped down, soy sauce stains not being wiped, and the self serve soda fountain(not fancy machine) is wet and messy and not maintained. The food is aight… I mean it’s good but frankly I think it’s overpriced. Or maybe I think that coz I’m spoiled living in Vegas. But I just think the taste of the food here is okay. It’s not mind blowing or robust with flavors, but it’s just okay. And the food is more mainland style to me, they don’t even have LocoMoco on the menu and that’s a Hawaiian dish. No mochiko chicken… No poke. So it’s not as traditional as I would like. I tend to always get the combination plate that consists of one strip of kalbi short ribs, teriyaki beef and chicken, one scoop of macaroni, and scoop of rice. Again the taste is average. Usually a little too oily for my liking, but it’s good food when there’s not too many other quick fix choices around and you’re not from the area. The Hawaiian fried rice I do like and has chunks of pineapple, chicken, and beef. My disappointment with this particular dish is that there is no shredded pork. So even tho it does taste good, still very average meal. I like to eat here only coz most times in a quick meal that’s filling situation… This is the best option
