Founded by the Molloy family in 1947, Molloy Bros. Moving and Storarge has a long tradition of providing high quality residential moving services to customers throughout the New York/​New Jersey region. During the post war boom years, the company expanded and gained a solid reputation for providing customers with exceptional professional moving services. In 1990, T. James Molloy, son of one of the company’s founders, acquired Molloy Bros and serves as CEO and President. Molloy Bros is now part of the Advance Relocation Resource Group of companies, which is comprised of Molloy Bros. Moving& Storage, Advance Commercial Movers, Fitco and Record Guard.

**The review Molloy Brothers doesn’t want you to read as they’ve tried to block it for ‘privacy’ reasons.**
If you are moving outside of NYC, do not under any circumstances trust these people OR United Van Lines to move you. They are the same company. We hired them to move us from Brooklyn to Los Angeles and all of our furniture arrived damaged. The reason apparently is because, although the guys in Brooklyn who showed up to move us out did an excellent job of wrapping our stuff, all of those moving blankets came off at the different waypoints. Apparently each independent contractor hired by Mayflower at different points along the way own the moving blankets, so they take them with them when their portion of the move is done. Our stuff left our apartment packaged to survive the apocalypse. When it arrived in Los Angeles…3 weeks late BTW… in a truck that looked like it had been stolen near LAX… NOTHING was wrapped. Almost all of our one of a kind pieces were damaged. We have been battling Mayflower now for FOUR MONTHS trying to get compensation for this and they keep giving us the runaround. They start off nice, but at the end, it’s all one big insurance game to them. They do not care about customer service at all. You’ll deal with a slick salesman like _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​in Brooklyn at the beginning of your journey, but by the end you’ll be dealing with a faceless person in St. Louis. Moving is already stressful but these guys did nothing but pour gasoline on the fire. Honestly, if I had it to do all over again, I would have rented a Uhaul and driven the damn thing across country myself. It would have been a pain and probably cost more if not the same, but at least my stuff would have arrived on time and in one piece and if it were damaged, I’d have nobody to blame but myself. These guys are supposed to professional movers. I feel like I was professionally robbed.

We have just had the most amazingly smooth, successful moving experience!!! Our team was the best! Pleasant, professional, hardworking, capable and tireless are just some of the adjectives I could think of to describe them. Steve, Steve Jr., Malcolm, Victor and all the guys who worked a total of 19 hours over the course of two days loading and unloading are to be highly commended! Don’t ever break this team up! I cannot begin to say how happy we are with the Molloy team who moved us. May I add that nothing was lost or damaged during the move. the guys were happy to place and move pieces to our satisfaction without any hesitation. All in all it was the best we could ever have hope for! Thanks guys, I actually missed seeing you today!

I recently moved from Long Island to Los Angeles and received quotes from every major moving company. There was no doubt that we wanted Molloy. The inspector was amazing, he was a driver himself so he knew exactly what we needed, recommended crating of a glass table and most importantly the Molloy quote was final while all other quotes were estimates subject to change. That was good but what was the best was the actual move, PERFECTION from pick up to communications during transit to PERFECTION of delivery. Truly the best!

I have dealt with professional movers multiple times. I usually go in with low expectations and am happy when things go right. I have had some very bad past moving experiences. Compared to other moving companies, I was generally pleased with the service. But I did experience some issues that compelled me to only leave 3 stars.
The packers spent 10 hours in my apartment and didn’t finish the job. They left several items for the movers to pack the next morning, but the movers arrived unprepared to do the work and were less than pleasant with me about having to take on additional packing. The movers indicated that they didn’t know about the extra packing that would be required. So there was some communication breakdown along the way. By the end of the 2nd day, the movers were literally throwing loose kitchen items into the last 2 boxes they had with them — no wrapping or anything. They promised to repack those items back at the warehouse, which never happened. I gave each of the packers and the movers a customary and generous gratuity at the end of all of this. I spoke to the Molloy Brothers office as this was happening and was promised some sort of compensation for the trouble I experienced, but that never materialized.

BIG move made EASY! Arrived early to move us from our house in Staten Island, New York on November 17th. This team of men took special care when handling our furniture and boxes. The driver said he should be to our Florida home by the 21st of November and like clock work he called on the 20th to confirm. Moving into a brand new house I had concerns. This team lined my doorways and hallways with cardboard to prevent any damage. These men were careful, courteous and respectful to my home and my family. Jack Rose gave us a spot on estimate, there were no hidden costs. I was in constant contact with Hope from the Molloy Brothers office. If I had any questions or concerns she was always available to assist. We can’t say enough about Molloy Bros.

USE THIS COMPANY!
We just used Molloy Bros. for a local move from Yonkers to Pelham. We had appointments with several companies for in home estimates and Bill from Molloy was great. We decided to go with Molloy because of both the price and the excellent customer service before the moving day. Diane, the moving coordinator help put our minds at ease that everything was set. On the moving day 4 guys arrived at the scheduled time (9am) and worked REALLY HARD for the next 7.5 hours to move our 3 bedroom house. By 4:30 they were done. I had done a lot of packing to try and get the final cost down and was happy to see that reflected in the final bill that was less than quoted. Things could not have gone better and there were no surprises. Would absolutely recommend them without reservation and use them again (although i hope to never have to!)

The person who came to do the estimate was very thorough. There were no surprises with the billing. The men who moved us out and moved us in on either end were very professional, careful, and courteous. Our stuff arrived quickly and in good shape.

We were moving my father from New York to Boston and well, to say it’s been difficult would be quite the understatement. Fortunately, Edmond and crew made things so much easier. Showed up when they said they would, were courteous and friendly, boxed everything up, loaded it up. Then, on the receiving end… once again, showed up on time, friendly, and patient with the lot of us. And I’ll be darned, everything came in perfectly (with the exception of one cheap plate that should’ve died three decades ago).
I’ve moved a bunch of times and I gotta say these were, by far, the best movers I’ve worked with. I’m so glad we went with them.

We were impressed with Jack, the Molly Bros’ salesman. He was straight forward and helpful. There were no surprises and no hidden expenses. The move was complicated because we were also moving goods from my mother-in-law’s house in Pennsylvania. Everything happened as it was suppose to and all our things arrived in good shape. Our expediter Hope was constantly in touch, always helpful, and proactive.

I have moved all over the country, and I have used top moving companies, BUT this is the very first time not one single thing was damaged. I decided to go with this company after meeting Chris Blank. He gave me an unbeatable quote, and he is so nice and proved to be trustworthy with customer service far exceeding the norm. Everyone is very professional, reliable and warm and friendly. I enjoyed working with Kim as coordinator, and the movers could not have been more professional and caring with my things. They also work quickly, and they make you feel like you have found a friend. I especially thank Lamar for doing such a great job moving me in, and the movers and packers were also excellent. This is an unbeatable team! If you go with them, you will be glad. If you have Chris Blank come over for a quote, you will be in good hands.

What is the number one goal you have when hiring a mover? That you hire a company to move your things and that you receive your things. If you share the same goal, steer clear. If you are thinking of doing a long-​distance move with this company, steer clear. There are at least 4 sub-​companies of Mayflower that touched our things. Noone has given any indication that an actual trace has been made on our things. I have to write this review on more than one company page since — similar to how they operate — they go under many different names. Which makes trying to follow up with them to follow up on your MISSING ITEMS that much more difficult. I paid a lot of money to this company to move our belongings and in the end, many of our belongings are missing and noone there seems to be able to give me a straight answer. Steer clear.

My father used Molloy Brother Moving and Storage in early January to move all of his belongings to his new home. With all of his kids out of the house, it was time to downsize. Molloy Brothers made sure to meet every need my father had. In a great meticulous manner, all belongings were packed and stowed to ensure their safety for the 10 mile trip. All belongings were uncovered without a scratch and the customer service was simply amazing through and through. I highly recommend this company to anyone with moving needs.

I had used Molloy for my boss’ move. They were very professional and very accommodating with requests we made. They showed up on time the day after the snow storm and worked diligently throughout the day. The customer service team, including Hope, were fantastic when dealing with some hiccups that came up during the move day. My boss was very happy with the way the movers handled everything with care, and he was very appreciative. Everything was done in the time frame they expected and it didn’t cost a dime over the estimate. We would definitely use them again.

These were the best 2 moves (from LA to NY) we’ve experienced. And that’s not even counting my mom’s move from NJ to FLA, which was incredible as well!
