Maui Wowi Hawaiian

DEFINITELY NOT CLOSED! They have a great location next to the Regal Theater on Mission.
The counterstaff were all very sweet and helpful. Loved the free Wifi! And they have a «recycling» program offering a large «tiki» cup smoothie with a refill for the price of a medium.
I’d definitely stop in again.

A friend had been pestering me to try this place for over a year… finally got down here and glad I did! Great selection of coffees and smoothies. I got a plain old mocha… without a doubt, one of the best I’ve had. It was such a refreshing changed compared to the burnt crap you get at Starbucks! Service was fast and friendly. I got mine to-​go, but it seemed like a pretty chill place to sit and hang out. I’ll definitely be back again!

A hawaiian place serving a nathan hot dog, you have got to be kidding me. See this is what happens when you start a business with a authentic feel just to lure customers in. Since when do es a hawaiian place serve nathan hot dogs.

My home away from home! Great coffee, friendly service, and dog-​friendly too, plus a short stroll from the shore!

Coffee is weak (drip coffee-​mixed Kona blend). Taste like a weaker version of hot chocolate. Been there twice now, first time was better. Don’t know if my second trip was just a less experienced day for the coffee maker but it was enough for me not to come back or suggest it to others.

Walking up Mission and signs galore about the smoothies, etc lured me in the direction of Maui Wowi. Thank goodness the yogurt shop before it was closed otherwise I would have ended up in there by mistake. The décor is in island spirit. My husband was going to get a smoothie, not me. But one look at the menu… what? Cappuccino Colada? I MUST HAVE THAT! I was not disappointed either. Coffee and piña colada in one frosty drink. Heaven! Hubby’s Pina Colada smoothie was equally amazing! I can’t wait to try others!

Coffee is pretty good and I like their espresso. Nice touch is that every cup (even just drip coffee) is brewed fresh to order… can be frustratingly SLOW though if there are multiple people in line because they only have one person working at any given time. They are pretty insanely expensive and I go there mainly out of convenience. Depending on who is working, I have been charged anywhere between $ 4 and $ 5.50 for the same medium latte I order every dang time. Pastries are limited in selection and not very fresh… I think they must keep them for days.

This place does not have the most comfortable seating and décor for a coffee house — not the kind of place I’d like to spend a couple hours reading or web surfing, however, the coffees are excellent and the service is very friendly and nice. I have not tried much of the food, but the round cinamon muffin is really tasty — especially good if you ask them to heat it up a bit.

Came here after the Sunset Market wanting something to drink instead of canned soda/​bottled water.
Maui Wowi Latte is pretty good, very nice aroma.
Strawberry Smoothie: Why is it sour?! It had a powdery taste to it as well which was weird. It was too strange of a taste for me to drink so I threw it away. Sucks since it was $ 4.

Starbucks who? This place is very relaxing inside and has something extra to offer when it comes to coffee. The price is about the same as going to any coffee shop but the flavors are unique and tropical. I tried the Kona Chill and I have also had the Nutty Hawaiian and can not wait to get back in there on my coffee binges to try more! I think this place is up and coming and it will defintley give starbucks a run for their $$$ once they expand. I have only seen it on the military base here so I will defintley be on the look out for more when out and about.

A bit pricey, but REALLY REALLY good! I like the Cappuccino Makeima and basically anything with macadamia nut. And it’s not just a flavoring– they actually grind up the macadamia nut (at least they did when i went). There’s plenty of places to sit, including a lounge area. And, it’s right by the beach! They also give every drink a cute umbrella on the side.
The banana is a bit overpowering though. I always ask for light on the banana.

The décor in this place is so fun! They have surfboards hanging all over the place, a longboard as a table, a tree stump shaped into a tiki man. Really earthy, warm & comfortable. The coffee is delicious. They have a unique selection… once again some earthy flavors… macadamia, almond, coconut. YUM!

The food and coffee is pretty good. Nothing special, but I’ll drink it. The wifi is free, which I love. The staff are always very lovely. The couches are comfy. As much as I love a good Starbucks, it’s a nice change from the generic coffee house environment.

I enjoyed visiting Maui Wowi during my recent vacation in Oceanside. the décor is fun, the smoothies are tasty, and the coffee is decent. The staff is also really friendly, which means a lot in my book. I also loved that they had Wi-​Fi, and let me hang out for a couple hours on my laptop doing some homework! I’ll visit again when I’m in town!

What an adorable place!
Stopped in before going to see a movie… I had a really yummy latte called something like «Nutty Hawaiian» or something like that — all of my favorite flavors: coconut, coffee, macadamia nut… YUM! Order with an extra shot if you don’t like your flavors as sweet.
Smoothies seem to be the main attraction here… WHY DOES EVERY SMOOTHIE HAVE BANANA IN IT? I’m not sure if there is another option as a natural sweetener, but man — do I really really hate bananas! The girl at the register was nice enough to mention that when my boyfriend ordered his smoothie… later, he forgot it was in there and offered me a sip. I had forgotten there was banana in there too and drank it! Yuck!
That’s just my personal taste, bananas suck and are constantly popping up in my food to «surprise» me.
Décor: All super duper Hawaiian and tiki-​like. There are board games and dominoes next to two large comfy chairs.
Excellent service, great coffee, and probably great smoothies (minus the banana), will definitely return!

I was in Oceanside working and missed lunch, and hit the energy wall… so I headed over to my favorite Harney Sushi in search of a bento box, but alas it was 3:15 pm and they had just closed for the 2 hour break before dinner… when I spotted Maui Wowi «now serving food.» I knew they served smoothies, but was thankful for something more.
I orderd Puli Puli chicken & rice and an iced tea. In a few minutes I had an absolutely delicious and healthy meal (though I wish there were some veggies in there), and a new partnership. By just asking the owner, guests of BETTER Vacation Rentals can get 10% off.
I highly recommend this great little spot… for a spot to eat or something to drink.
