Awesome place! We found our daughters dresser from dress barn and an Ethan Allen curio cabinet for great prices and 10% discount. They even threw in an item on the house! Definitely a great place!

If you are looking for one of a kind furniture… this place is it!!! We bought two industrial barstools, a GIANT European king size bed and a gorgeous and huge black steamer trunk. There was so much to look at in her warehouse that we ran out of time. I am actively looking for two patio sets and can not wait to go back to Poor Honey’s. The staff is amazing and Honey herself is sweet, knowledgeable and very, very nice. When you go… make sure you meet Bella. The inventory they carry will shock you, they have some of everything. Go to Poor Honey’s and get lost in her store, you will not be sorry. Great, great, great experience!!!

If you need to furnish a new place fast without bankrupting yourself, this is the place. Good value and nice stuff. Very straightforward to deal with. They delivered my stuff to me very promptly just like they said, and actually were flexible on delivery because I only lived a few blocks away.

Loooooove Poor Honey’s. We got the coolest bookcase there. It was exactly what we were looking for, which was kind of specific. The delivery guys were great too, they even offered to put it together for me once they got it inside. I think delivery cost like $ 20 or $ 25, I can’t remember. The staff is helpful and the place is huge, go check it out!

My girlfriend and I went in to poor honeys, because we have a couple of friends who have gone here. Their selection is a cut above everybody else’s, they have the most affordable prices of any consignment shop, and the staff is overwhelmingly nice, and their delivery people show up on time and are super friendly. Poor honey herself is a riot, and as sweet as can be.
We will be back here to pick up more items, but in the meantime will be enjoying our new high-​end baker furniture dining set. I can’t believe the amount of Ethan Allen furniture you have! Will definitely be back.

I happen to come across poor honeys while watching tv at my mother’s house. There commercial came on. Being that I like to buy old and used furniture and reupholster it I decided to check out there website. The very first photo that i seen on the website was a banquette/​settee. I have searched high and low for this item which i refused to pay ebay/​amazon $ 500 and up for. I saw this item on a saturday and could not make it. I saw that there closed on sundays and mondays. Tuesday morning on 3÷19÷15 my sister and I was the first ones who arrived and i spotted what i had come for. Of course it bought for only $ 160 originally $ 175 along with a hallway table for only $ 50 originally $ 65. As for miss honey herself (wendy) she is by far the most pleasant lady that i have ever come across absolute joy to be around and talk to about anything. She also told me how the store got it name, but i wont tell you, you have to go visit to get that info. Her staff is also helpful and great to all very pleasant and nice. I highly recommend that before spending hundreds of dollars on furniture to check them out. Its a hidden treasure in there. I will for surely be back there before i even think about goin elsewhere poor honeys is first on my list and as much as i hate crossing the bridge i will cross it for them. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Love Poor Honey’s! Not only do they have a huge selection of quality used furniture, they are extremely friendly and helpful. Every time I visit the store someone makes sure to say hello and asks if I need help. I also love that they will hold items for you. I have purchased a few chairs and a sofa from them and am constantly checking the website to see what new pieces they’ve got in. I’ve emailed them questions about items on their website and they always get back to me quickly. They delivered my sofa and went above and beyond to help me get it into my space (they had to take my front door off).
This is the type of small, mom & pop business I love to support. They care about their customers and appreciate their business. I recommend them to all my friends and family!

You might not always find something you need, but when you do it will be high quality for a fair price. Plus! The most awesome doggy.

After perusing various thrift shops, estate sales, and sifting through the weekend madness at Ikea in search of the perfect vintage style table for our apartment, numerous 5 star Unilocal reviews led us to Poor Honey’s as a final stop.
Well worth the trip to East Oakland, Poor Honey’s boasts an eclectic curation of quality furniture fit for just about about any aesthetic. We were delighted to find several vintage tables to choose from upon first glance.
Additionally, Wendy and Mark elevate the already amazing experience with genuine friendly service and a warm welcome. As we browsed for chairs after claiming our table, Mark kindly gave it a fresh scrub to make its clean formica tabletop even brighter. He also hauled it to our car and secured it in the trunk so we could easily transport it home!
We’re so excited to have a cool retro table for our living room that would have cost hundreds at an estate sale for just $ 65! They were having a 10% off sale that day, which was a great surprise.
Not only did we feel great about the savings, we’re also stoked that the money we did spend is going toward a wonderful local business that helps people who can’t afford much be able to furnish their homes with quality goods.

This place is AWESOME! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. They have amazing items, very unique stuff and great prices.
It’s a mom and pops and they are SUPER nice.
They offer delivery as well for a small fee.
This is my new go-​to for furniture!
I highly recommend checking this place out before spending too much on poorly made furniture!

I’ve been holding off on writing a review of Poor Honey’s because I’ve kind of wanted to keep it a secret. However after having another spectacular shopping trip at PH this week it would be wrong not to give them a shout out.
What’s so great about Poor Honey’s?
1) Across the board the furniture has «good bones» so even if sometimes the upholstery is worn or just not to your taste, or the finish on the wood is imperfect, the actual wood structures are solid. This is great for the intrepid DIYer that may not have major woodworking/​repair skills but can handle figuring out how to reupholster a piece.
2) Tremendous variety. Whatever era you are fond of from Victorian to today you will eventually find a piece that makes you swoon. Also this place is packed. If you don’t see what you are looking for at first, look again, especially against the walls where additional stock may be lurking. There are so many great chairs, beds, dressers, mirrors, even fireplace mantels (I always find something that I don’t need but I wish I needed!)
3) The prices can’t be beat. Sure you might get a chair at Ikea for the same price or less but it will be made out of pressed cardboard and birch veneer and will look like crap in 5 years. Want a solid mahogany or oak chair that will last another lifetime and that won’t burn a hole in your wallet? Go to Poor Honey’s.
4) Sweet shop dog (Stella?). She couldn’t be a nicer sales rep. The rest of Poor Honey’s (human) staff is as helpful and nice as could be.
So now that I’ve written this review please don’t go buying anything that I have my eye on… ok? Thanks.

I find furniture shopping so overwhelming that I usually just avoid it. I have been in need of new furniture for my office for over a year. I had a great experience shopping for furniture at this store. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and definitely not high pressure. The selection is great and the prices are reasonable. I can’t wait to go back.

They have a ton of very nice used furniture at very reasonable prices. The customer service is amazing and they even have an extremely cute dog milling around the spacious showroom. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs cheap decent quality furniture. Thanks Poor Honey’s! :)

Why didn’t I come here sooner!!! Amazing selection if all sorts of furniture: coffee tables, desks, secretaries, trunks, chairs, kitchen /​dining sets, mirrors, headboards, curio cabinets, shelves, lamps, sofas… Staff SO nice and helpful… I walked in, found what I was looking for in about 2 minutes, and stayed just to browse. WHY have I spent all those hours reading used furniture ads on Craig’s List!!! I could have just come here and found awesome, funky, good shape, amazing price furniture and drive it home on the spot. I will be back!!!

My in-​laws downsized and needed several smaller pieces for their smaller house. We shopped ALL over the east bay. But we found all the things they needed at this store. Two beautiful wingback chairs VERY comfortable. An even better small lazy boy style rocker. Plus a Beautiful cherry night stand! The staff was helpful, negotiated prices, and even loaded everything up in the truck VERY securely. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I’m going to tell everyone about this place! Try this place first if you’re looking for the perfect slightly used furniture! I even saw tons of retro and vintage pieces for rock bottom prices! Best deal in the east bay! And I know we went to tons of thrift stores and high end consignment shops.

This place really is 5 stars. The selection is good, prices are rock bottom, and the service is excellent.
I went here on a saturday afternoon and found so many cool things. They had a retro 60’s table with matching chairs and lief for $ 110 that I would have paid upto $ 400 for maybe more. It was sold unfortunately. Although I found a couch that’s quite nice I might come back for and I found an antique chest.
The chest is really cool (will post photos later). They had similar ones at Park Street Antiques in Alameda going for $ 150-​$ 200. I know this because I had a long talk with the owner there and almost bought one but held out because the condition of his chests wasn’t that great and quite frankly I couldn’t afford it. He was telling me they can be as high as $ 300 for the good ones and they are always in demand. Well I found one at Poor Honeys — perfect condition selling for $ 45. What’s more the owner Wendy gave it to me at a discount for $ 40 including tax because it had an old man smell. She even gave me suggestions on how to get the smell out! That may sound funny but when a chest is 60 – 100 years old it is going to smell like grandma or grandpa.
Wendy provided excellent service. After talking with her she took down a huge wish list of mine and my email and phone number and offered to keep an eye out for what I want and email me pictures as stuff comes in.
We just moved here from Calgary, AB Canada and didn;t take any furniture. So Poor Honey’s is an excellent option. The prices are better than most stuff on craigslist and they have delivery available too! I’m really excited to see what they can find us.

chairs, sofas, end tables, clocks, mattresses, rocking chairs. dinner tables, office tables, bookselves, bar stands, sofa chairs. almost anything can be found.
didn’t buy anything. got a friendly hello and a welcome to preruse at my leisure.
saw some prospective buys. (chairs). will be back pronto if the urge strikes to buy.
not sure of their hours. looks like afternoons or weekend afternoons only.
