Mica is just the best.
I met Mica for a color consultation after experiencing a minor crisis at another salon (it involved stripey blonde highlights a la N’Sync circa 1999). Mica immediately diagnosed my problem– I had mom highlights! He game-​planned a solution and I felt totally at ease and confident in his ability to fix my zebra stripes.
A few days later I saw Mica for the fix. I was super excited but tried to temper my expectations. I’d spent weeks amassing a collage of color work on Pintrest and Instagram-​most done by celebrity stylists with a 500+ price tag. Needless to say, the bar was high.
Mica was, as in our consult, incredibly warm and friendly. He recalled our previous discussion in detail (he was paying attention!) and he reviewed the remedy plan with me so that I felt perfectly comfortable. Mica spent close to 2 hours with me and was attentive, professional and generally terrific throughout.
I walked out feeling like the prettiest version of myself. The color is beautiful, natural-​looking, and just about perfect. I’ve received more than a few complements throughout this week. A final testament to Mica’s talent– when I compared my newly-​dyed strands to my coworker’s, whom I’ve always had serious hair-​envy towards (hers in natural-​that bitch) and it was a dead match! For real.

LaReina has been cutting my hair for years and I’m so glad she has started offering service in the East Bay at Harper Paige. After years of dreading getting my haircut, I found LaReina and decided I would never again go anywhere else and have my hair ruined for a fee. She knows how to cut my hair stylishly despite my hair’s unwillingness to cooperate. She’s also super cool! I just hope she stays in the Bay Area.
The salon itself is large and comfortable as well, in a very convenient location. I dig it.

Ceci has been cutting my hair for years now, and I am so happy that she has moved over to Harper Paige’s new East Bay salon so I no longer have to drive across the bay to see her! Ceci is very easy to talk to, and she will work with you to come up with a great cut whether you know what you want or are up for suggestions. I have fairly curly hair, and Ceci is one of the only straight haired ladies I have ever had a successful cut with. I always leave the salon feeling fabulous… especially after one of her amazing brain tingling shampoo jobs.

I just found my new hair stylist! woo hoo! Mica gave me the cut I had been wanting for over a year. I went to two other hair stylist who gave me terrible cuts and each time I had to wait for it to grow out before trying again… really annoying! Anyway, Mica knew exactly how to cut my hair using razor blade technique and they use this really great smelling product called R+Co. So excited to finally find a stylist=)

I’ve had my fair share of bad haircuts/​bad stylists over here in the east bay. So when I saw Harper Paige opened I knew I had to check it out. Since some of the ladies there came over from Cowboys and Angels, I knew it had to be better than anything I had over here before. My hair was maybe 2 inches or so past my shoulder and it was a fried mess from a color correction that didn’t go so well with a different east bay stylist. So I wanted to chop it off and get a cute summer cut. I called and they scheduled me with Mica. Ladies and gentleman, seeing him was like a breath of fresh air! He was so educated about his craft, and so fun to spend an afternoon with! He gave me a super cute a-​line lived in looking cut, which was exactly what I asked for. I even brought in a pic for an example but he didn’t even need it. I think he knew what I needed more than I knew what I wanted. Bottom line, go see him! Even if you have a stylist, he’s better, go see him! (Ha, sorry other stylists) I’ll definitely be going back soon to do a color correction because he does color too!

My go-​to-​gal at Harper Paige is the delightful Ceci Coon! I am so happy they now have a salon in the East Bay so I can now conveniently see Ceci for cuts, trims and wonderful company. Ceci has a great eye. I value her opinions and suggestions and she is always patient and supportive with me, especially as I try to grow out my hair. I’ve recommended numerous friends to Ceci and ALL of them have been super pleased with her work. I’d send anyone who is looking for a new stylist, new do or even a refreshing trim to go see Ceci. She’s a joy to be around and a creative stylist that Harper Paige is super lucky to have on staff! Oh, and the ambiance and rest of the staff at HP is fantastic as well. Love my Harper Paige days!

Harper Paige East may just be the the best kept hair salon secret in the east bay.
I’ve been a client of HPSF since they first opened in San Francisco and the new Oakland location is in a word, perfection. Open and airy like their spot in SF, yet with a distinct East Bay vibe (a super cute vintage couch welcomes you in the waiting area, excellent tunes are softly piped in — fleetwood mac last time I was there, and there’s even a fireplace (non-​working but too cute!)). They’ve clearly put a lot of heart into making the space just right and well, their efforts have paid off and then some, it’s more than alright, it’s amazing!
I’ve been by a handful of times now and have always been able to find immediate parking (tip: lots of free spaces on 51^st) and have made a real afternoon/​evening of it. They’re smack dab in the middle of everything that makes the Temescal hood so rad — Pizzaiolo is just 2 doors down, the Temescal alley shops are conveniently around the corner, a favorite record shop (Stranded) is across the street and my new favorite spot for fancy cocktails (Grange Hall) is a block away… I’m telling you, you could do a lot of damage around there!
And as for the important part, your hair! Marie has been keeping my short blonde hair bright, soft, and glorious for several years now. It sounds cheesy but when I come into Harper Paige, I feel like I’m visiting my favorite girlfriends. The time flies and I feel like that’s how a great salon experience should be. Also they have always have the best assistants! Sloane, Amanda and Hunter are particularly super!
Over all, I can’t recommend this charming salon enough. Do your hair a favor and book an appointment while the Oakland location is still fairly under the radar ;)

I could not be more excited that Harper Paige has opened a location in Oakland. The new location on telegraph is incredible! Parking is relatively easy, and the space is gorgeous and relaxing. Most importantly, the people are incredibly talented. I have been seeing Katie for color for 10+ years or so and she is so intuitive, creative, and a wonderful person as well. I’ve also been seeing Brandie for cuts for 10 years, and she never disappoints, always has great ideas and is awesome all around. I’ve sent many friends to them over the years, and they have all been super happy. Oakland is so lucky to have this gem!

I started coming to the SF location a while ago. The lovely, talented, cutie patootie, Timory, has been doing my color since I waltzed in with the biggest disaster of a dye job ever about 1.5 years ago. I love her and Harper Paige and was so effing excited that they were opening an Oakland location. So, unfortunately, the other day I had a stupid wedding to go to and made an appointment with Micah at the new salon. He was totally adorable and made my hair look awesome. It lasted so well too (he did it at 12, wedding wasn’t til after 7) and I couldn’t have been happier. I should also mention that Cece (and I am sorry if that is not at all how you spell that) has been giving me the best haircuts of my life since I found Harper Paige and I believe she splits her time between the two salons. So, oakland people, I seriously recommend going to see Cece or Micah in this new, beautiful, calm (compared to SF) new spot on Telegraph. I should tell you their prices are incredibly reasonable too.

I have been getting my hair done by Micah for 2 years now, and continue to see him since he transferred to Oakland. I met him the first time when he cut my 10 y/​o daughter’s hair, and I was smitten. Micah is an artist and a craftsmen with amazing vision and skills. I went from «Mom with a hair clip» to a sassy and stylish cut. My husband and coworkers were dazzled! Every time I leave Micah’s chair I feel young and beautiful.
I just started going to him for blonde highlights too. I was very reluctant to give up my last colorist… it’s very hard to find a good blonde specialist. But I did, and he knocked it out of the park. Did I mention that I’m hard to please with color?
Micah has such great energy too. He is so much fun to listen to. He listens to more podcasts and current events in a week than most people do in a year. He is on top of everything in the news from fashion to politics. I walk out feeling like I have a better pulse on the world, lol. But he delivers it with such enthusiasm!
Micah is a delightful and charming, and a master at his trade. I wish I had found him sooner.

I have been seeing my stylist Daniela for about two years and I couldn’t ask for a better stylist. Daniela is creative, fun, and always manages to make my hair look better than I could possibly have imagined. She listens to your ideas and executes them with perfection. If you don’t have an idea of what you want, she will come up with something amazing and make you feel beautiful!
