While we understand there is NO substitute for mom or dad, our goal here at Fuzzy Britches is to provide your pet with as close to their normal routine as possible. We always meet for an in-​home consult prior to your first trip so you can show us your pet’s food, medication, favorite toys and hiding places, alarm system, etc., just so we make sure we get it right! This visit is at no cost to you (of course) and helps ensure that you have the opportunity to meet us face to face and ask all the questions you like.

Our drop in visits last 30 minutes, depending on you and your pet’s needs. A home visit includes: 15 – 20 minutes play/​snuggle time, feeding & medicating pets, watering plants, bringing in mail/​newspaper, cleaning/​changing cat box, poop scooping the yard, and email or text updates upon request. A 30 minute dog walk or extra play/​snuggle time may be added onto any visit for an additional fee.

History

Established in 2010.

Kaity & Tim Evans have been pet sitting in Oakland and the surrounding area since 2007. They started out caring for pets on the side while both working full time, Kaity as a veterinary receptionist and Tim as a dog handler at a doggy daycare. With each holiday that passed, and each year that came and went, their client list began to grow. They decided to take a leap of faith in 2010 and see if they could make pet sitting their full time gig. Thus, Fuzzy Britches Pet Care was born.

So, what’s a «Fuzzy Britches» you might ask?

It’s just a term of endearment Tim made up for our silly cats. So when it came time to think of a name for our business, we wanted something that stood out, that people would remember… and dang it… it’s cute!

Business Owner

Kaity grew up in Martinez, always having animals in her life, from dogs & cats to snakes & lizards, and all sorts of pocket pets, including guinea pigs, hamsters and rats. She brings to the table 5 years of experience in the veterinary field as a receptionist and has a special interest in animal nutrition and holistic care, such as acupuncture, chiropractic and massage.

Tim grew up in Pinole living with a pack of dogs, as his parents bred and showed Afghan Hounds. He had always felt a special connection to dogs and they responded to him like he was one of the pack. His love for dogs led him to a career in pet care in the form of doggy daycare. He comes with 4 years of doggy daycare experience and has a special interest in canine training and behavior. But don’t worry… he loves cats too! He has also completed courses in Pet First Aid and CPR.

Tim & Kaity live in the Adams Point neighborhood of Oakland with their Great Dane, Ziggy, and two cats, Punkin and Miso.

We can’t recommend these guys enough! Very flexible (shes saved my hide more than once at the last minute!) and her prices are pretty standard and reasonable for the area. They leave the place as they found it and take good care of our pets. Thanks Kaity!

I have VERY high expectations for a petsitter. I have used many over the years in various cities. I had not found a decent one in the bay area until now. Kaity is excellent! She stayed overnight with my cats for 4 nights. She took excellent care of them (they are seniors with many meds, and are very high maintenance) and when I got home my apt was in the same condition as I left it (clean!), unlike the other pet sitters. I highly recommend Fuzzy Britches

My wife and I had just moved in to a new house, and were worried about how our cats were going to react to our vacation. Tim and Kaity were the perfect solution for us, and much better than the times we’ve had to board them. The cats were able to get used to their new environment, and got great care from Kaity and Tim. They were much happier and better adjusted cats than the times we’ve had to board them. We had great communication via email, mail was brought in, plants were watered. They have this down to a science. I would highly recommend the service!

Our cat is not easy to please, but we returned from vacation to find a very happy kitty! Tim and Kaity provide daily check-​ins to let us know they’re actually spending quality time with our cat, and their rates are more than reasonable. Fuzzy Britches beats boarding every time.

A+++ I could not be happier with the service, communication and care that Kaity and Tim provided. I was gone for 2 weeks and I am the one who suffered separation anxiety, not my kitty! Bacchus was well taken care of, and truthfully not sure he even realized that I was gone. When I got home it was like I had never left. He was happy, mellow and (kinda) glad to see me. Yay! I know that he was well taken care of and attended to. I will be using Fuzzy Britches again in the near future and recommend their services with the greatest confidence. Meow!

Just got back from 12 days out of the country and Kaity and Tim took great care of our needy social kitty! They responded right away and came out promptly to set things up, sent regular updates, and were extremely reliable. They also gave our plants a little TLC. Highly recommended.

Just got back from 10 days in Oregon and while I was away Kaity and Tim took great care of my 13yr old cat and 6yr old Parakeet. I have used Fuzzy Britches in the past and have complete confidence that while I’m away my animals are getting the best care. They also did extras like putting out my garbage cans and doing some watering.

I have two cats that needed taking care of while I went on vacation. I usually use the vet as boarding or sometimes have a house sitter. I decided (for the first time ever) to try pet sitting. Kaity and Tim came to the apartment to meet their new «clients.» We had a great meeting, and Kaity thoroughly went over everything that needed to be addressed, so there were no surprises or miscommunications. She kept in touch while I was away via email and kept me updated on things. Everything went more smoothly than I could have ever expected. The best part of it all is that she was able to draw out my 15 year old who usually retreats to under the bed when people come over. They seemed really happy and satisfied when I returned. I will auto matically call Fuzzy Britches the next time I need to leave town.

Kaity and Tim are amazing! I found them while I was unable to walk my dog due to a little sledding injury, and since then, I have been using them at least once a week. They have been extremely reliable and are willing to work with my sometimes chaotic work schedule. Additionally, Huck-​my little Beagle/​Jack Russel ball of energy, is not always the easiest to deal with on-​leash. Kaity realized this issue immediately and has been working with him to stop his pulling and decrease his stress when other dogs walk by. It has only been a bit over a month and the results have been pretty remarkable.
Outside of all of the other things I have mentioned, whenever I text or call I get a response right away which is something I really appreciate since I often have to make appointments without a lot of notice. In short, these guys rock.

Kaity looked after our cats for just under two weeks while we were on vacation recently and everything was just great. It was great to know that our pets were going to have someone check on them while we were gone and to have one less thing to worry about when we just wanted to relax. Everything was very professional and when we came home the cats were relaxed and didn’t seem too stressed out that we were away. We received a couple of email updates to let us know that everything was fine. The cats really took to Kaity and enjoyed having a human around now and then.
It’s nice to know that should we have the opportunity to get away again in the future that there’s a local service providing excellent pet sitting. Fuzzy Britches will be our first call the next time we need a pet sitter.

Fuzzy Britches is awesome! We just used Kaity’s services for the first time over Thanksgiving. She came by and met our cats beforehand so that we could show her our set up. She took note of all of our cats hiding places (many) and all kinds of other important things that you wouldn’t even think of.
While we were away Kaity sent us an email each night with an update. She makes sure that if the kitties are hiding she at least sees them at each visit. Eventually our kitties were coming out and hanging out with her, which is a big deal because they are really antisocial with most people. When we got home the kitties seemed very happy and super well taken care of. I would recommend Kaity to anyone and will definitely take advantage of her services whenever I have kitty sitting needs in the future. My cats were safe and sound in her care and your furry creatures will be too.

Fuzzy Britches Pet Care is the best pet sitting service I have ever used. Kaity and Tim deeply care about animals and pay attention to the smallest details. The last time we were out of town, one of our cats was on a complicated medication schedule, plus he was a shy guy and hard to medicate. Kaity managed it beautifully, and kept an amazing daily chart of visits, medication schedules, and how each of the cats was doing in terms of eating, etc. Their experience with animals gives me confidence in leaving my pets in their care. Highly recommended!

I have used Fuzzy Britches Pet Care many times during the last few years. Whenever we go away, they come in and feed our cats and look after them. Every time we come home, our cats look happy and well fed. They are completely reliable and honest. The petsitter works at my vet’s office, so not only does she love animals, but I know that if there is a problem, she will just take my cat to work. I only wish I had known about them a few years ago before I had a terrible experience at a highly recommended cat boarding place. Now I never have to worry anymore.
