We hired Tobey as a dog trainer for our puppy. We purchased one of her multi-​session training packages. She came twice during the first few months and once when our dog was 8 months old. She is warm, patient, and wise in the way of dogs. She helped us train and socialize our dog and I would not hesitate to hire her again for further training, should we need it, down the road. I definitely consider her to be an expert trainer.

Tobey has been my dog walker and trainer for several months (I have 2 pitbulls) and I couldn’t be happier with her service. I hired her in desperation– I had a new dog who wasn’t trained at all and I was too overwhelmed to make progress. I bought one of Tobey’s training packages (and later hired her for dog walking twice a week) and it has been worth every penny.
Tobey was able to assess my new dog’s true struggles and figure out a way to address her issues while being sensitive to where she was at. Tobey didn’t push me and my dog too much, but at the same time, I saw results almost immediately. Within just a few days accidents in the house went down a lot and my dog’s anxiety had noticeably reduced. Tobey walked the dogs for 5 days in a row while I was traveling and when I got back, there was no pulling on walks at all (a huge problem with my new dog). Seriously less than a week and I saw major results.
The true value though has been in the time since then. Tobey will email/​text with you extensively about your dogs and their training– all included in the price of the package. I cannot tell you how valuable it had been for me to have a trainer that I can ask questions and get very detailed responses back quickly. She really puts a lot of thought into her responses and there are no dumb questions either!
As a dog walker, Tobey is reliable and professional. She is very mindful about what your dogs needs in terms of other dogs being present. For example, my not-​as-​new dog had not been socialized but is not aggressive towards dogs. Tobey would take him out with her other clients and now he is socialized and has great dog friends. My new dog has some aggression issues which Tobey identified and we are addressing. That dog goes on walks alone or with my other dog only.
This kind of attentiveness is what puts Tobey apart from other dog walking services. Because she specializes in aggressive dogs, she is much better equipped to help my dogs move forward with creating positive interactions with other dogs. She also texts me a photo of my dogs on each walk, which is really a bright spot during my day. I have also met and worked with Tobey’s new assistant, who I found to also be reliable and professional.
Tobey is also not stern/​judgmental/​elitest about dog training. She is really realistic about creating a plan that can be accomplished, and very understanding that life often gets in the way of dog training schedules/​plans. She has been able to help me stay on track without being pushy and always considering how busy life can get. She has a holistic approach to dog training that has been very effective for me and my dogs.
When I first started working with Tobey, I had 2 dogs I had to keep completely separate (separate walks, separate living areas, separate trips to go outside). The new one wasn’t house or leash trained, had a negative history with other dogs, and had never lived inside a house. My other dog wasn’t socialized but had come a long way from when I rehabilitated him myself 2 years ago. Now? Both dogs are best friends and are at home alone together right now (most likely sleeping on the couch, cuddling). House training has come a long way and pulling on the leash has been an non-​issue for months. More than anything though, is that both dogs are happy and confident. My new dog finally feels at home in my fur family and my other dog has made a bunch of dogs friends. I couldn’t be happier with Tobey’s services and look forward to continuing to work with her.

I can’t comment on her actual dog-​walking/​sitting services since the experience getting to that was so sub-​par. Tobey contacted us nearly 2 weeks ago in response to an ad we had placed looking for a dog walker and dog sitter. After nearly 2 weeks of back and forth, and 15 minutes before we were scheduled to meet, I got a text apologizing and informing me that we are «not in her area» and then pretending it is my fault since she posts her «area» on her website. Ummm, you contacted us, and had the address all along. We’re both busy people who rearranged our schedule to meet a new dog walker and this was disappointing. If this is an indication of her organizational and time management skills, I’m glad we found out sooner rather than later.

Tobey is a ray of order and sanity in our otherwise furry and chaotic lives. She has a combination of professionalism, organization, experience, attention to detail, and, of course, a magic touch with animals that I’ve not seen in any other pet care professional.
With five cats and a dog, we’ve had our share of pet sitters; none of them can compare to Tobey. For an extremely reasonable rate, she helps us maintain our domestic zoo. Our litter has never been cleaner (and we’re finally able to end the pee wars that broke out), the cats are well fed and cared for, and our dog’s health is finally stabilizing.
When she started out, our dog was in rough shape with numerous health issues out of control. With her care and attention, he’s healthier and happier than he’s been in a long time –she gives him his medications, subcutaneous fluids, keeps him bathed and well groomed, and brings him on walks (both solo and group walks). While boarding with her over the holidays, she also noticed symptoms we overlooked and took the initiative with the vet to get his medication adjusted.
Our house, while still a bit of a mess, is in better shape than it’s been in a long time, with all the fur-​related matters well under control thanks to Tobey.

Tobey is the best! Our family made last minute travel plans for my boyfriend and I over the holidays — so we had little time to find a cat sitter for our kitty. Tobey was referred to us by another cat sitter in Oakland and we are SO GLAD we followed up. We’ve had previous experience with a cat sitter in the Bay Area — one of the top rated in SF — and he is nowhere near as great as Tobey.
Tobey was on time for our initial visit, and she came prepared with questions. She set up a Google doc with all our information so we could make edits before her visits (so helpful!). She has arrangments with another cat sitter in case something happens so our kitty is extra safe. I was a little worried she wouldn’t like cats since she used to be primarily a dog sitter, but she is obviously an indiscriminate animal lover and connected with our cat immediately.
During our trip, Tobey sent picture/​video updates for every visit without fail. She even added a santa hat to our kitty’s picture on Christmas! We had a last minute flight change, and she accommodated an extra visit without trouble. She is very professional and very friendly. She always responds to text/​emails promptly.
The last time we had a cat sitter, we came back to a chubbier, desperate for attention cat with fleas — our cat never goes outside so she must have gotten them from the sitter. This time, our kitty was happy to see us, but it seems like she had a nice little vacation with Tobey — no fleas or extra weight and SO relaxed! Tobey kept our precious kitty happy and well exercised. We are so excited to have found a cat sitter we trust. We look forward to working with Tobey for the foreseeable future — she’s just the best.

My partner and I was in search of a permanent pet sitter and had interviewed several sitters. It was becoming very disappointing that were not finding the perfect person to care for our three kitties! I was about to give up and was considering boarding and then I came across Tobey. We scheduled an initial interview and she arrived prepared and asked all the questions I didn’t even thing of asking. Tobey has been a godsend for our family and kitties! I think it’s important that the pet sitter you choose meet your pets so your pets have the opportunity to meet their new sitter. My kitties love Tobey and so do we! Tobey is also becoming a part of our family and we couldn’t be happier! I would suggest to anyone to schedule an initial consultation with Tobey for your pet needs and you will see that Tobey is the perfect pet sitter to care for your pet family!

If you are looking for a professional to care for you dogs – look no further. Tobey is absolutely amazing! At our initial meeting, she met my two boys: a rambunctious 10 month old French Bulldog puppy named Kilo, and a very large, mellow, seven year old Bull Mastiff, named Cole. Tobey came to my house very organized with her laptop and spent a good hour creating individual profiles for each of my dogs. I was truly impressed with her in-​depth questions regarding their health issues, vaccination history, surgeries, feeding and walking schedules, favorite toys, and any dietary restrictions (my dogs have food allergies). When she started playing with my dogs, it was obvious that she is a natural with animals, and they really like her! I was so impressed with her that I scheduled a trial day for my dogs to spend the day with her. When I went to pick them up they were totally relaxed and had obviously enjoyed the large yard and being pampered by their new friend, Tobey. My dogs love her, and yes, she loves dogs!
A week later we arranged to have her take care of both of my sweet boys for 4 days at my house. I got great updates via text, fantastic pictures of my boys having a whole lot of fun, and being treated like royalty – she even gave them a bath!
When I returned, my dogs were so well taken care of, I’m not sure that they noticed I was gone – that’s the best scenario I could ever have imaged! I’ve already scheduled a longer trip for them to spend more time with her later this year.
I will no longer worry when I need to go away – Tobey will take great care of my boys!

My pup just started working with Tobey and I am more than impressed with her services. I researched other dog walkers and Tobey is by far the most knowledgeable and passionate about dogs and her services. She came over for an initial visit and spent a lot of time with me and Munchkin. She is extremely responsive and organized as well which is a huge plus for me! Munchkin is like my baby and I am so relieved that I know she is in good hands when I am away. Tobey also takes amazing photos of my dog and checks in with photos since I requested it. Munchie and I haven’t been clients of Tobey’s for very long but I wanted to write a review because I am so impressed with her level of service so far and how much I already trust her. Munchie has some health problems right now and Tobey has handled them with no issues. I would highly recommend Canine Comprehensive Services for your dog sitting/​dog walking needs. Tobey has dogsat for my little guy a number of times, both at my place and at her own house, and she is the best, hands down! My dog is very sweet, but he tends to get mopey while I’m away, so most of my worries are of the emotional type… But the way that Tobey interacts with my dog is really special. She LOVES dogs, you can see it in the way she talks to them, touches them, treats them. My dog responds so warmly to her, and that’s the best test!
Other things of note: when Tobey dogsits at my place, she really does leave it cleaner than when she arrived! (OMG she even seasoned our cast-​iron pan last time around!) She is very thorough and asks the right questions about the dog, his habits, your home, etc. so if you’re not 100% comfortable leaving your pup or your apartment with a stranger she will make you feel at ease.
